Monk, do you wish you had the same amount of fur as saint?
sometimes yeah... i love cuddles and sometimes i think about how many id get if i had lots of fur.
but its okay! having a regular amount of fur means i can appreciate syrannik's even more! and i still get plenty of cuddles from others as is :D

(OOC) Do most of the slugcats not know about the hardmode creatures?
[those who havent been on an expedition or delivered a message before (everyone except makoa'an, svarali, and kamani) generally dont know much about any of the creatures from the game. mi'iyana does work with creatures like red lizards and king vultures, but they are domesticated and much smaller than they are in the wild.]
[only some of the hardmode creatures are actually known, while some are only seen in the wild and arent well documented by the iterators. this includes things like miros vultures and aquapedes.]

Mi'iyana do you often get called short by other slugcats?
yes but i dont mind it now! i got picked on a bit in school because of it but ma'anak was there to protect me.
funnily enough though i think the one person who picks on me the most for being short now IS ma'anak! its just jokes of course but he reminds me pretty frequently that im small :D
being short does have its perks though. one being that i can really get lost in syrannik's fur hehehe <3

(To all) Do you play an instrument? If so, what do you play?
⨉ mimiberry73
If you count the grill as an instrument then yes 😂 Otherwise no but I used to play guitar in high school. Mimi said she really wanted to learn the flute so I'm planning to get her one for her birthday 🙂🎉🎁 It's a surprise though so she's not allowed to see this post
↪ Anonymous
tashina and i dont play any instruments. i wouldnt be surprised if syrannik knew one, but ive never seen them playing so idk. fun fact mimi tried to play a tuba in high school and couldnt hold the thing up LMAO

i do guitar, bass, drums, vocals, and i also dabble in production a little bit! makoa'an doesnt play any instruments (theyre too busy making visual masterpieces hehe) and i dont think svarali or enot do either. but between you and me anon... kamani has a very pretty singing voice :3

Are you given a weapon of some type? I know the iterators know how dangerous your tasks can be so I would imagine they would give you something to protect yourself right?
yep! we were told during orientation that we can pick one weapon to take with us each expedition. theres spears and bows and all sorts of fancy things, but i think ill be ok without any on my first trip when that comes around!
even with a weapon i dont think i could bring myself to hurt any of the creatures out there! and besides, if i can pacify one out there, it can come with us and help! a wild lizard cant be much harder to train than the lizards at the shop, right? maybe it can be my weapon lol!
thanks for the question! <3

Do you need to wear like a hazmat suit or something, so you don't bring unknown diseases back to the city
the iterators have most illnesses in their databases and those with medical facilities are well capable of handling them, so we generally don't need to worry. the only real problematic illness is the rot, because it isnt a traditional virus or bacteria. its treatable, but we still havent managed to find a proper cure. luckily though it's rare and only spreads from cell to cell, so it isnt contagious like a regular disease is.
it is weird though. you would think that every now and then an expeditionist or a messenger WOULD return with an entirely new disease, but every single time the iterators seem to already have info on it. i always chalk it up to the overseers we use scanning us while we work or something, but there has been plenty of odd theories in the past.

Monk, do you have any train lizards in stock?
train lizards?? ive never heard of that breed before!
the suppliers we work with dont collect any, but i can try to have a look around for you :D keep in mind though we may have to charge a little extra to make up for the separate order fee!
thanks for the request! youve got me curious now :D
↪ mimiberry73
update: i wasnt able to find a supplier, but also theres no records of 'train lizards' in the iterator archives? did you make those up?? if you have a picture of one id be happy to see it because im not sure if theyre real anymore haha!

If you're in a situation where you can't get back from an expedition can you just kys or somthing?
Unfortunately, it's not so simple.
Your cycle resets to wherever you slept last when you die, and I've never been on an expedition where fatal rain doesn't fall at least 3 times over the course, so sleeping throughout is absolutely necessary. Adding to that, if your expedition requires collecting items (pearls, seeds, etc.), they will only return to your last sleeping location with you if you slept in that same spot with them prior. Think of it like a checkpoint in a video game.
Luckily, there are safe spaces all throughout the iterator facilities (and beyond) that lock down when the rain comes, so there isn't a shortage of places to sleep. If an expedition requires you to travel between iterators, there will usually be a grace period where you're too distant from any structures to get hit by the rain. Those places are especially dangerous, as there is also no safe spaces, and it gets very dark at night.
Death is also very painful. Injuries only last if you sleep with them, so there's less concern there, but even still there is very few ways you can die in the wilds that aren't agonizing. Not to mention the psychological effects. I still remember the first time I died, and not fondly.

OOC: is there any presence of rot in this AU? If the triple affirmative was not being looked for, pebbles would not attempt the breeding program that infected him. I could easily see it as a common cancer-like disease, or an affliction that harms iterators (in a lesser state than what pebbles had). If there is, does how does the cast interact with it?
(There is rot other than from pebbles in cannon, but the player characters only ever comes in contact with pebbles’s kind. Besides watcher.)
[it's implied by the broadcast iterators knowing what the rot is as soon as pebbles gets it ("GS: They say that an iterator got the rot! And they have it bad!") that it exists to some extent outside of his case, so it will be present in urban au but to a much lesser extent. kamani gets it through SUPPOSEDLY natural means (that'll be a plot point later), and rot present in the world is very rare and actively hidden from anyone that isn't an expeditioner/messenger. when it's seen during expeditions, it must be approached as it is in the game; silently avoiding, or killing with explosives]
[tldr: yes rot-underling you are in urban au :D]

Syrannik how did you meet Mi'iyana?
I was at work one day, tending to the wheel flowers. It was a quiet day, with not many people passing through the gardens, so I decided to listen to some music while I worked. Because I had my earphones in, I didn't notice when a girl walked up beside me and started talking. It's only when she reached out her hand to touch one of them that I noticed, and I almost jumped out of my own fur. The way she laughed was very cute, and she was very gentle with the flowers.
We talked for a while about all sorts of things, eventually exchanging numbers when she had to go back to work (she was on break at the time). From then on, we would spend more and more time together, and about a month after meeting she would ask me out on our first proper date. Instead of going out to a restaurant like most do, she took me to Five Pebbles' access shaft to look at the abstract murals. She brought food with her so we could picnic, but we spent the entire time theorizing on what the murals were depicting, and completely forgot to eat any of it. In the end, she let me keep the food and the basket. I eventually finished the food, but I still keep that basket in my car with me at all times, just in case.
Thanks for your query, Syrannik
