Does Kars ever get cold at night or winter and need your heat to warm up?

In short—no—but want and need are different stories.

For clarification’s sake, the ‘Pillar Man’ body temperature actually burns hotter than a human’s so the cold isn’t really a concern for us. Nonetheless when Kars, Wamuu and I journeyed to the old world we did tend to wear more layers.

I can recall only few times where Kars was visibly uncomfortable with the weather, and while he’d certainly never ask for it, he wouldn’t exactly object to my intervention.

He’s made it rather clear he’d sooner steal my clothes than ask if I can warm him up; I’ve lost a decent amount of coats that way…

what was it like raising wamuu and santana? the world needs to know

Well then, the world shall have its answer.

I couldn’t say how hard they were to raise because I had nothing to compare them to, I never had siblings so that responsibility was new to me. I spent many hours pouring through books on parenting, the rest was either learned from my own parents or tricks I’d picked up along the way.

Wamuu was big even as a kid, at 2000 he was the same height I was at 6000, but that was to be expected knowing his biological parents. He was good at getting into trouble, I can tell you that much, and he never stopped trying to eat things.

Santana on the other hand was small as a child and definitely more fussy—there was this rattle he was very attached to (I think he still has it actually) and anytime you shook it he’d come running. Unfortunately it wasn’t long until Kars made it clear who his favourite was…

Santana didn’t inherit an element like his brother and he’d had a stutter since he’d learnt to speak.

As much as I love the two they definitely could be a hassle, my only real regret was that I was too young to fully realise what I’d gotten myself into. If they were young again now I feel I’d do a better job raising them.

how did you feel about your heat mode when you first used the stone mask?

I assume you’re inquiring about the abilities granted by the mask? I had the power to boil my blood from as soon as I could walk, to move my veins outside my body was new however, and certainly took getting used to.

The best way I can describe it is learning a new language, in the sense that it is a new way of communicating with your own body— the world has not changed only the words you can describe it with, as does the body not change, just your understanding of it. It was unfamiliar at first. To be intimately aware of inner workings that are, for anyone else, unconscious motions—yet despite the change this body was still my own. I felt freedom in a sense. Power and morality have the weight of responsibility behind them but in that very first moment I had no limits to what I could achieve.

I certainly had a different perspective when I was younger but now what was once a marvel is just second nature.

You vs. the rest of the Pillar Men in a fire noodle eating contest. Who would finish their bowl first? Who would finish without needing water and sweets? And who would immediately need to go to the bathroom?

We’ve actually done something like this before, only the once however…

Scared me half to death, that boy. He was alright after he had a drink.

Kars gave up halfway through, and if he’s got the same spice tolerance as Santana has, it was a wise choice. Wamuu handled it to little effect and as for me, I barely noticed the difference.

Is Kars’ ass fake?

Ah, the first inquirer~ and with a deceptively simple question— don’t think Kars would appreciate this answer but— probably. See the thing is, if he has he’ll take it to the grave. He was the first to use the mask, much before I formally knew him, so really there’s no telling how much he changed. For better or worse I suppose.

I’m sure I could ask but I know exactly how that conversation would go…
