I can't wait for the sunflowers I planted this year to start blooming. These beauties were last year's offerings and their seeds are now this year's seedlings. There must have been 50 or 60 sunflower blooms last year at the peak of the season. 😁🌱🌻

“Oh, that sounds so fun!” you tell the customer.

There’s a little bit of sadness that strikes you - you haven’t been able to do that in a long time.

“I hope you all have a wonderful time!”

The bell over the door rang as the door opened, it was a slow day and this was the first customer in a while. In the doorway was a young looking, feminine person. They wore a white sweater with a black bow tie and strap skirt, with white stockings and black sneakers. They walked into the store, humming to themself. “Why, hello there friend!” They piped up. “Would this be your fine establishment, hmm? All these yummy little treats look delicious!” They giggled. “I’ll take one of each please!”

You smile brightly, although the past few nights for you were as rough as they could get, the cheery demeanor of the customer rubbed off on you.

“Of course!”

You gather one of each pastry and dessert the bakery you worked at had to offer, and happily handed it over after ringing it all up.
