I was having a random nostalgia trip, thinking about Utility Fish, and how cool they were... and all of a sudden, a new(-ish*) Utility Fish falls from out of nowhere!

At closer inspection, I find that it was the Long Lost Kazoofish that fell before me.

I decided to test out its sound... it sounded great! Better than that Red Kazoo I had for almost fifteen years.

I can’t wait to show this to Zynyz. She’ll want to give it a toot.

(*It was new to me. It was actually released in the Month of Celebrating, Year 16.)

Now I need to rest for a bit, since she made me hurt after that fiasco...

It seems that I don’t have the Neopoints to obtain a goodie bag for Zynyz.

I’ll just have to settle with what I have and see how she likes it...

“S.F.F.” has been scrapped

I’ve decided to scrap the plot, since it wasn’t all that good in the first place.

Zynyz is back with me now.

“S.F.F.”, Intermission 3A

I narrate this special intermission from my perspective.

Ah, November. It reminds me of that time I got all sorts of different little trinkets from that goodie bag. I still cherish that moment and the moments after.

Let’s take a moment to take a trip down Memory Lane, shall we?

Okay then, off we go!

It all started back in 2002 when I visited that Lupe. She had goodie bags stocked in her shop – quite a rare sight, you’ll only see her stock such a thing once a year around this time.

She recognized me as one of those famous Kacheeks, and handed me a goodie bag free of charge!

That was mighty nice of her, wasn’t it?

Anyway, when I got back over to where everyone was, I opened my goodie bag, and found some really cool trinkets inside. The last one I pulled out was...

...the kazoo.

Of course, I didn’t know what it was back then, so I asked someone that had one.

That someone I do believe was an Aisha.

I asked them, “What’s this dag-nabbed thing? Is it some sort of weird whistle or something?”

They answered, “It’s called a kazoo.”

“A kazoo?” I replied. “That’s what’s it’s called, is a kazoo?”

They replied, “Exactly!”

This got thoughts racing though my mind. “Show me what the kazoo can do.”

“Will do!” And with that, they started playing a melody on their kazoo. They then started making crazy sounds after that.

I decided to try it myself, but couldn’t get anything out. Not a single sound.

After all that noise and confusion, all I could do was gaze in awe at the kazoo, wondering how they got theirs to work. I didn’t even ask, I just walked away, staring at my kazoo, wondering how they got the magic out of theirs.

I knew that with a whistle you’d blow to get the sound, but with kazoos it’s a mystery.

Good thing Kaylia told me the answer to my puzzle.

She said that I should hum into the kazoo and not blow.

Thank you, Kaylia, for helping me out with playing the kazoo! I had no clue you were supposed to hum into it.

Anyway, after going through that quick tutorial on how to kazoo, I started having fun.

I was playing all day that day. Having fun with the others the whole nine yards... I think I even started a band. Oh, it was so long ago I can’t remember...

I was still playing with my kazoo days after I got it. I met up with my friends to kazoo as well...

I even remember the time I annoyed that Shoyru with my kazoo. Heh, heh.

He didn’t know where all that buzzing was coming from. He was looking all around, even in my general direction. When he looked over towards me, I stopped.

Boy, did he get annoyed with the shrill sounds I made! Good times, good times...

Ah, yes, those were the days. Back when I was still famous. Those days are long gone, now...

But I think I still have that kazoo from those days that have passed me by...

Oh well, that was then. We’ll have to see what we have in store for us this November...

“S.F.F.”, Part 5

No one answered the puzzle to the last part of the plot...

The answer was I was trying to explain Zynyz’s quirks to Kaylia.

Let’s continue on with the plot. Please try to answer if you can.

It wasn’t until later on that Zynyz suddenly disappeared from our view for a brief moment to venture off somewhere we wouldn’t know, because she skipped off somewhere out of our sights.

A few moments later, she returned with a strange Pink Aisha that she met while she was out and about. I was feeling skeptical about what I saw at this point.

When she introduced the Pink Aisha to Fleeskie, I heard her name as “Aydeanne”. I felt a little less skeptical, since I felt that she got to know the Pink Aisha a bit.

“Hrm, I’ve never heard that name before,” I said to Kaylia.

“Me neither,” Kaylia replied.

We continued to watch the two get to know each other, when suddenly, Aydeanne revealed a Red Kazoo that Zynyz gave her. The whole thing turned into a kazoo-fest from there.

HONK!

WOO!

ZZZZUBB!

AAAOOOOO!

ZOOOOOOOOT!

KOOOOOO!

WOOOO!

There was so much noise that we thought that they were going to summon the Pretend Spirit!

After a while of having to deal with all the zoots and zubbs, Kaylia and I got quite the headache!

All of a sudden, they were doing it... they were summoning the Pretend Spirit!

I stood frozen in terror, horrified to learn that Aydeanne has learned the special code...

“Tickle your toes...” They all wave towards the ground.

“Reach for the sky...” They all wave towards the sky.

“Kazoo down low...” They all kazoo the Charge Fanfare towards the ground.

“Kazoo up high!” They all kazoo the Charge Fanfare towards the sky.

An ominous voice then calls over them. I start to grimace in terror.

They start doing strange things, even making strange sounds with their kazoos, all while the Spirit is occasionally talking over them.

After witnessing the freakshow, I was about ready to scream, but Kaylia didn’t mind it at all. I was still grimacing, while she was grinning.

Note to self: Don’t let Kaylia watch You On Kazoo...

I was scared out of my wits while watching those three play with their kazoos like that! Good thing Kaylia wasn’t triggered by the freakshow...

“S.F.F.”, Intermission 2

Zynyz will narrate this intermission post from her perspective.

After paying a visit to the Money Tree and scoring myself an extra Red Kazoo, I thought I would be generous and give the extra kazoo to someone else.

I ended up giving the extra kazoo to a friendly Pink Aisha by the name of Aydeanne.

Here’s how it went for me and Aydeanne...

After reading on the boards that Aydeanne the Pink Aisha wanted to claim the extra Red Kazoo from me, I rushed out to deliver the extra kazoo to her.

I was looking for her so I could deliver the item to her, but as it turns out, she spotted me and started a conversation before I could even give it to her.

“Hi!” she said to me. “You must be Zynyz the Kacheek.”

“And you must be Aydeanne the Aisha,” I replied.

Aydeanne then asked me, “Have you got my item?”

I smiled, and replied, “Yes, I do!”

As I gave her the Red Kazoo, I got my Yellow Kazoo out and played the tune to Let’s All Play Together.

This reminded Aydeanne of something: she’s never played with a kazoo before. She just had to know how to get a kazoo to work...

Aydeanne asked me, “How did you get your kazoo to work... do you have to blow into it to make it work?”

I told her, “No, you don’t.”

This confused Aydeanne. “If I’m not supposed to blow into the kazoo, then what am I supposed to do?”

I told her, “Try humming a tune. Can you do that?”

“Erm... yeah...” Aydeanne replied. She then proceeded to hum the tune to Pop Goes The Weasel.

I smiled and gave her the Red Kazoo. “Now see what happens when you blow into the kazoo rather than hum...” I said.

“Okay, but which side do I blow into for your demonstration?” Aydeanne replied.

I replied, “The wider end is what I want you to blow into...”

She did as told, and blew into the kazoo...

“Nothing!” Aydeanne gasped.

“Now try humming into the kazoo,” I told her.

Aydeanne started humming a steady note, and slowly brought the kazoo up as if she were to blow into it again. This time, it buzzed! This made her jump a bit...

I then got my Yellow Kazoo out, played the tune to Let’s All Play Together, and invited Aydeanne to play along. We played one at a time at first, then started playing in harmony.

Then we played pretend by re-enacting the Just Kazoo It scene. Let me tell you we had FUN FUN FUN FUN FUN FUN FUN pretending together!

Then I taught her the special way to get the Pretend Spirit out to play. Before she could even make her way towards the Land of Make-Believe, she needed to know the way to get the Spirit out to play.

We had a lot of fun together!

After I played with Aydeanne for a while, I decided it was time to be headed off to find more friends. She suggested that I befriend Tiranno the Wocky.

“Why do you suggest him?” I asked.

“Read the boards and you’ll see,” Aydeanne replied. “I guess you could say that he’s kind of like you...”

I paused for a moment, and said, “You’re meaning to tell me that he...?”

Aydeanne smiled. “Yep, he says that You On Kazoo is his favorite anime.”

At this point, I was trying not to laugh. “Are you serious? Who’s his favorite character?”

Aydeanne noticed me holding back my laughter, encouraged me to let it loose, and said, “I’m not kidding you, that’s what he actually said! And his favorite character is the main character, Brett, because he plays the kazoo more than any of the other characters.”

I couldn’t hold it back any longer. I cracked up at what she said.

“Yeah,” Aydeanne laughed, “it got me stifling a laugh, too!”

"Well, it was nice to meet you, Aydeanne,” I said.

“Same to you, Zynyz,” Aydeanne replied. “We had quite a lot of fun kazooing together.”

“Same,” I said. “Well, see you later! I’m off to find Tiranno now.”

“Okay, see you again soon!” Aydeanne replied. “If you find Tiranno, tell him that Aydeanne told you about him, okay?”

I replied, “Will do.”

Aydeanne waved at me as I ventured off to find Tiranno the Wocky...

Next intermission post, I will tell about my encounter with Tiranno the Wocky.

“S.F.F.”, Part 4

On the previous post’s puzzle, there was no correct or incorrect answer – you would have had to answer as best as you can.

Unfortunately, no one answered the puzzle...

Let’s try this puzzle out for size, shall we? And make sure to answer it this time...

After I convinced Kaylia that something was going on with Zynyz, she wanted to see proof for herself that the two were out there “kazooin’ it”.

Of course, she still thought I had a screw loose because of the things I told her...

I told her to follow me to the bush that I’ve been hiding behind to study the behavior of Zynyz. She followed my command, and we headed over to the bush where I ran from when the two summoned that crazy spirit.

As I suspected, the two Kacheeks were up to their shenanigans as usual.

When we approached the bush to study the behavior of Zynyz and Fleeskie, we found them playing Let’s All Play Together on their kazoos.

Wow, they’re pretty good, thought Kaylia.

I even found myself humming along to the tune.

Kaylia noticed me humming to the tune, thought that I was getting left out, and quietly asked me, “That reminds me... didn’t Zynyz give you her Green Kazoo for you to play with?”

I turned to her. “Why do you ask that?”

Kaylia then replied, “Well, you see, I noticed you humming the tune that they were playing... whatever it is. And I figured, since your lover Zynyz happens to have given you her Green Kazoo to play with, maybe you could play the same tune as they’re playing. All you have to do is hum the tune to play it.”

This triggered my timid side. “W-well, you see, um... I can’t really play with them because, well... umm... it’s because of a spirit they’ve been summoning with their kazoos...”

Kaylia then remembered what I said to her. “Ohh, I get what you’re saying now! ‘Tickle your toes, reach for the sky, kazoo down low, kazoo up high’ is actually the way to summon the spirit...”

We then continued to study the behaviors of Zynyz and Fleeskie from the bush...

I think Kaylia gets what I’m saying now!

The answer to the previous puzzle was that Fleeskie eventually learned the special way to summon the Pretend Spirit after a while of kazoo play.

No one answered that puzzle within the time limit.

Let’s see if anyone can answer this puzzle:

I was really getting worried about Zynyz, and even thinking that she might have ran away from me to play with her friend.

I decided to venture off to find her.

After some time looking around Neopia for her, I heard the tune of Let’s All Play Together being played on kazoo.

I figured it would be Zynyz playing Let’s All Play Together, because she would be the only one that can play that tune on-key.

As soon as I approached the source of the sound, I took a peek at who was playing that tune. To my surprise, it wasn’t just Zynyz that was playing, but Fleeskie, too!

I enjoyed listening to them play, until they started pretending different things.

When they started re-enacting Just Kazoo It, I started to get a little annoyed... all that buzzing drove me up a wall, and nearly gave me a headache!

It all fell apart when the two “got the Spirit out to play” – that’s when I ran from the bushes!

I ran as fast as I could to my pal Kaylia. I thought maybe she would know what’s going on.

When I told her what all was going on, she thought I was crazy!

“‘Tickle your toes, reach for the sky, kazoo down low, kazoo up high’? That sounds like nonsense to me!” she scoffed.

“But Zynyz told me that as she gave me her Green Kazoo,” I replied.

Kaylia couldn’t help but scoff at my reply. “Well, at least you could try and amuse me with the kazoo she gave you. But don’t clown around with your ‘You On Kazoo’ nonsense,” she told me.

“Who said I was clowning around? I don’t clown around at all,” I replied. “I wasn’t even joking when I told you that Zynyz was playing her kazoo to summon a crazy spirit.”

Kaylia gave me a dirty look, then an intrigued look. She wanted to see proof that Zynyz was out there “kazooin’ it”.

Zynyz will narrate this intermission post from her perspective.

One day, while I was skipping along, I passed by my good friend Fleeskie. She noticed me, and decided to say “hi” to me.

“Hello, Zynyz!” she called out to me.

Upon hearing her call out to me to say “hi”, I skipped over to her and started a conversation with her.

We had quite the conversation!

After the conversation was over, I got a little bored, so I decided to play with my Yellow Kazoo.

Before I could even finish the song I was playing, Fleeskie noticed me playing with my kazoo, and got pretty excited!

She was kind of jealous, too, since I had a kazoo and she didn’t...

So, she requested that I get her her very own kazoo to play with.

I could never let my friend down, so I set off on my way to find a Blue Kazoo for her. I figured she might like to play with one of those.

I returned to her with the kazoo, but I planned to reveal it to her.

“Psst, Fleeskie...”

She turned to me and replied, “Yes, Zynyz?”

“You requested that I get you your very own kazoo to play with, right?”

She gave me an excited look and nodded. She thought I got her the kazoo she wanted.

I smiled, turned around, and got the kazoo out for her. Then, I looked back to her, gave her a wink, and twirled back around...

“TA-DAAA!!!”

She got so excited at the big reveal that she wanted me to play with her. I gladly accepted the offer.

We started out playing the tune to Let’s All Play Together when we started playing our kazoos together, then we played a few more tunes.

We had a lot of fun that first time we played together!

“S.F.F.”, Part 2

The answer to Part 1′s puzzle was You On Kazoo.

The lucky Tumblr that will move on is thinspirer – she gave the exact answer to the previous puzzle!

Let’s see if anyone – including you, thinspirer – can solve this next puzzle...

It was quite shocking to find out that Zynyz was affected by such a silly meme.

I mean, really? You On Kazoo? It’s just some weird video of a bunch of kids playing with kazoos. Well, that’s what I think of it...

It turns out that’s why she’s been acting up. It’s because of this weird meme video that she seems to like a lot.

Then, one day, she decided to show me her inventory. What I revealed was quite the shock to me...

I revealed not one, not two, but six kazoos in her inventory! Each one was a different color, either green, yellow, blue, red, fire, or striped.

She gave me her Green Kazoo to use to summon the Pretend Spirit, but not before telling me the special way to “get the Spirit out to play”:

“Tickle your toes, reach for the sky, kazoo down low, kazoo up high!”

I was too scared to summon the Spirit, but I couldn’t tell her that I was. She just left before I could do anything to tell her that I was too scared to summon the Spirit.

I thanked her for the kazoo. It was nice of her to let me borrow it. However, she wants me to summon a spirit with it, but I just want to play with it like normal...

Meanwhile, Zynyz was up to her shenanigans...

Fleeskie suddenly noticed Zynyz, and greeted her. When she noticed the kazoo that Zynyz had (it was yellow), it happened. She requested that she have her own kazoo to play with.

Zynyz did as she was asked, and gave Fleeskie her very own Blue Kazoo to play with. She would never let her friend down!

This is where things got a little out of hand...

I think maybe Fleeskie got a little too carried away when she spotted that kazoo that Zynyz had.

For your information, the title of this plot – “S.F.F.” – stands for “special friends forever”.

Let’s continue on to the plot, shall we?

I feel like I’ve been let down by Zynyz. Really, I do...

She’s left with her friend, whoever she is. I recall Zynyz telling me her friend’s name when we met some time ago...

Ah, now I remember her name, since she came to mind. Her name is Fleeskie.

I don’t know what has gotten into those two, but I think something might have to do with how strangely Zynyz has been acting since that one day in the middle of the Month of Swimming.

She’s a little more bubbly than she usually is... and she’s using weird terms that I’ve never even heard her use before.

She sometimes even repeats the word “fun” a bunch of times in certain sentences, which I find quite annoying. I know, she can be annoying at times, but I’ve never had her annoy me this much before!

And, worst of all, she’s learned to summon this crazy demon spirit known as the Pretend Spirit. When she does that, it scares the living daylights out of me!

That first experience with her summoning the Spirit got me scared stiff for a brief moment...

I figured I had nowhere to run and nowhere to hide, so I was just frozen there, watching her talk to a crazy spirit.

Anyway, enough talk about the Spirit for now.

I think Zynyz shouldn’t be doing such things. She’s making me think she has a screw loose because of all of these things going on with her.

I think she might have been exposed to one of those memes...

Zynyz ran off with a friend of hers, and has jeopardized our relationship by leaving me so she can play with her friend!

Would I be able to get her back or would she dump me so she can play with her friend?

Zynyz wants me to do some silly ritual dance to make me look like a fool in front of Tumblr, and also to summon some crazy spirit that she met when she switched over from a Green Kazoo to a Yellow Kazoo.

It’s no wonder she’s been acting so strangely lately!

I’ve been hearing the Charge Fanfare on kazoo, as well as chants, kazoo vocalizations, and strange voices.

I suspect that she’s been summoning and interacting with the Spirit, with other pets chanting and kazooing along with her.

Also, I should remember to thank her for the Green Kazoo. She’s letting me borrow it for the purpose of summoning the Pretend Spirit, but I think I’ll just play with it like normal.

And did she mention talking to the Spirit with the kazoo??? I think she just might have a screw loose, because I’ve never heard of a spirit that only understands kazoo vocalizations!

It seems that Sylvester wants to summon and interact with the Pretend Spirit, but he is unsure of his decision to do so.

I gave him my Green Kazoo just in case he wants to do it.
