[Plot Part 10]

„NO! I won't allow this!“

The Torchic flinched, then let out a small sigh. „I knew you'd say this...“

The Duo of Chinatsu and Dragos had crossed the Town to visit the fire types' home. There she told her mother about their plans to form a team and about the recommendation they'd need for it.

But being a worried mother, the Combusken instantly refused to gave her any kind of approval.

„B-but Ma'am, please listen!“

„I'm sorry, but that's my final word. I can't allow my daughter to become a part of your team...She's too young and you already saw how easily she can get hurt..“

„I-I...argh!“ Not being able to say anything, Chinatsu stormed outside again, leaving the other two behind. Dragos was confused.

“But...she’s not weak at all! You do realize that, right? Chinatsu...can be a great explorer if she wants to...and if that’s what she wants...then I wont let you stop her..”

And thus Dragos too stormed outside to find his friend, leaving behind her mother with a very sad look on her face.

“Chinatsu, wait!”

“Just let me be! I’m sure you will find someone else to become part of your team!”

Was she...crying?

“...No. I don’t know what’s up with you and your family, but I can’t and won’t let your talent go to waste!! We can find another way to register our team and then your Mom-”

“Excuse me?”

Surprised by a strangers’ voice, both of them stopped their argument and turned around - just to see a stranger standing in front of them with a piece of paper in their hand.

“I heard you need some team members?”

A strange Pokemon appeared, holding up a familiar piece of paper?

[Plot Part 9]

„Welcome to the local branch of the Official Pokemon Guild Alliance. What can I help you with?“

The Elgyem working as one of the receptionist greeted them friendly, while packing away some papers from the desk.

„We're here to register our exploration team! We even have the admission fee!“ Dragos' voice was filled with pride. „Were do we have to go?“

“Oh my...I’m sorry to interrupt you but..” The psychic type tilted their head. “Are the two of you the only members of this team?“

„Well yeah..“ Chinatsu answered with a puzzled look. „Is there...a problem?“

„I'm sorry but yes, there is.” Leaving the desk for a few seconds, the receptionist came back with some papers, pointing out a special phrase on there.

“In the past months, more and more teams registered to be part of the guilds - which is actually a good thing! - but you see...they are full of beginners, who just think all this is for fame only. They dream of becoming famous and rich, forgetting about the dangers out there.

We want all new explorers to start their career safe, that's why we addeed some more rules for everyone who wants to form an exploration team.“

Worried over what would come next, the kids looked at each other for a short moment.

“So what...does this mean for us?

„First of all, the new rules of the alliance set a new quorum of members. Whoever wants to register a new team has to be able to confirm at least three founding members. And those members also need either a recommendation of an explorer with rank C or higher, or at least one member with proven exploration experience.“

The Elgyem shook their head and seemed a bit sad to crush the kids’ dreams like this. „I'm really sorry for the two of you, but those rules are for your safety after all. Please feel free to come back here once you’ve met our conditions!“

„DAMMIT!“ Dragos slammed his tail on the ground in anger. After what they were told, they both left the guild, but their mood was dropped. „Why did they have to do that condition change just days before I finally had what we needed?! This is unfair!!“

Chinatsu walked besides him, having a sad expression on her face. „I'm sorry..“ The Torchic didn't know what to say – or why she'd excuse herself, but she just had the feeling that saying something was neccessary. “B-But this is not the end! I-I’m sure we can find another way!”

“And what are you thinking about?? Man I’ve been searching for new team members for weeks until I found you...how am I supposed to wait even longer now?”

Chinatsu sighed. “Well if you can just wait for a week or two...Maybe we can get that Explorers-recommendation they talked about! I...I may know someone with a high enough rank...but we’ll have to wait for him to come back...”

“Wait are you serious?? That would be the best!!!”

“Just remember that I can’t guarantee that it’ll work...phew this will be something...”

(thecasualcubone) James@Dragos: "I heard you were starting an exploration team. As a current leader of a friend and my own rescue team I know from experience you need to be prepared, would you like some items for the beginning of your rescue team?" The pikachu is offering 1000 poké and 2 reviver seeds.

“This is so awesome, thank you!!” He happily stored the gotten items away. “Do you want something in return? I don’t have a lot of stuff, but we got some delicious apples and berries here if you need some!”

Dragos obtained 1000 Poké and 2 reviver seeds.

"So where's all 'o this treasure yer talkin' 'bout? Y'all sure it's a safe job?"

“Of course it is! We’re strong explorers who won’t ever be in trouble out there!–”

“..We’re not even explorers yet.”

“……and after getting our registration we will get all those treasures out there! And then we can build our base and become FAMOUS!”

“It’s still dangerous and I don’t know why I said yes to this anymore..”

“Don’t be ridiculous Chinatsu! Haha!”

[Plot Part 8]

First he only had a blank expression on his face, which was followed by a wide grin. „Of course!! That’s why I asked you, I wouldn’t have asked if I wasn’t sure, you know?“

„You’re the first one…who said such things without knowing about my parents at all..“ The Torchic murmured something Dragos couldn’t quite catch. Then the first time since he met her, Chinatsu showed an honest smile herself.

„Okay. I’ll do my best!!“

„Say Dragos…where are we even going now?“

After their talk, Dragos had dragged Chinatsu right into the village, saying something about a place they had to visit right now.

„Oh don’t worry, it’s right around the corner!“ As he said so, Some kind of a big entrace door that was engraved into a huge rockface could be seen. There was a wooden sign places above it which said ‘OPGA – local branch’.

„The guild? Why are we visiting this place all of a sudden? Do I have to…register for your team?“

„It’s not just that.“ Dragos grinned. „We have to register our team!!“

„Wait…you didn’t…YOU DON’T EVEN HAVE A TEAM YET?? I THOUGHT YOU ALREADY WERE AN EXPLORER!“

A bit surprised by the fact that Chinatsu was actually able to shout like that, the dratini didn’t answer immediately. „Well..I always needed a second member to officialy register my team. Sooooo~ let’s go inside now! I’ve been waiting for this moment way too long!!“

He didn’t even give her a chance to protest anymore and just pushed her through the heavy metal doors.

~the next day~

“DRAGOOOS~ DEEEAAAR~ COME HERE QUICKLY! WE HAVE A CUTE LITTLE VISITOR WHO’S LOOKING FOR YOU!”

The voice from downstairs was loud enough to catch the Dratinis attention. He still was in his room, looking at the items his mission got him - but not with pride and happiness alone.

“Y-Yeah I’m coming!” 

He went down to the small entrace hall of the hostel he lived in. What caught his eye right here was quite unexpected.

“Chinatsu?? What are you doing here?!” She flinched a bit as he suddenly cried this out. She really was jumpy wasn’t she?

“S-Sorry if I am disturbing you...I just came here to thank you once again..” She bowed her head in excuse. This sudden action caused Dragos to blush a little. He never saw a child to actually behave like this towards another child. This was embarrassing.

“Kukukukukuu~ Ohh my that was adorable! You really found yourself a cute new friend!”

“Let’s…Let’s just go outside for a minute, okay?” The small dragon dragged the Torchic outside with him, leaving the Audino where he was.

“So…how did you find out where I was living?” Dragos tried some smalltalk, plus he really wondered how the torchic found him. 

“I just asked around a bit and then got here very quickly…” came the answer. “So..as I said before, I really want to thank you for saving me.

“Oh it was nothing! You did the dangerous part all by yourself anyway!” Now seing his chance he went on. “Say, why did you decline my offer yesterday? I’d be really happy if you’d join my team! You are such a strong pokemon! Togethre we could–”

“I’M NOT STRONG!” Her cry interrupted him mid-sentence. “I-I’m nothing but a weak milquetoast who can’t even go through a simple cave all alone!! I’m not like my father, so why can’t everyone just stop compare me to him?!?” 

A silence followed afterwards as she noticed what she had just babbled.

“Your father? Oh I see, so it’s like this with you too!” He smiled at her. “Wanna know the reason why I wanted to make a career as an explorer? Because I want to show my family how strong I am! And that I am able to take care of my self. I will travel, see the world, and find many new friends to be part of my team. And then I will invite them here to this town and show them what I built with my own strength!”

The torchic nearly teared up at his explanation. Dragos nearly overheard her following whisper.

“And you think…I could actually help you fulfill your dream?”

(velvetdreemurr) Alice: hi Dragos! I've been having problems with missions due to my small size, any tips?

“Don’t worry about being too small for missions! The best thing is to have friends by your side who help you! I don’t have that much experience yet, but I’m sure you’ll even be able to use your small size against opponents or so.

Like you’ll be able to even get into the tightest caves or crevices, where treasures or items could be found. And being small also should be helpful to escape from an opponent who’s too strong to fight against.”

“You see? theres a lot of good things with being small! I hope this did help you a bit, have fun and good luck with your explorations!”

[Plot Part 6]

“Please be part of my team!”

He couldn’t be serious, right? The Torchic tilted her head in disbelief.

„You’re kidding... Why should a weak pokemon like me become part of your team? It’s a dangerous job and I don’t want to be dragged into trouble.“

„Weak?! You just told me about conquering that dungeon all on your own! I’m sure you-“

“CHINATSU-CHAAAAAAN!!”

He got interrupted by a loud voice that seemed to come closer.

„Chinatsu-chan! Thank god you’re safe!“ A female Combusken came running towards them, suddenly hugging the small Torchic tight.

„Ouch!..M-Mom? What are you doing here??“

She got out of the embrace, looking at her mother. The Combusken wiped away a single tear before talking.

„I wanted to check if someone found you already, so I went to ask Chief Aegislash...but then seeing you here...oh I’m so glad!” She hugged her daughter again, then her gaze went towards the Dratini. “You were the one saving her, right? Oh I can’t even thank you enough! I couldn’t go search for her because of the baby and her father isn’t at home...Oh I don’t even want to imagine what could have happened..” The Combusken reached into a small bag she carried around. “I know it’s not much, but please accept this!”

Dragos obtained 100 Poké and Ginseng.

Dragos gave that bottle a very confused look. “What’s...that thing?” Chinatsus mother smiled as she gave a quick explanation. „This one’s called Ginseng. Drinking that will make one of your attacks stronger!“

„Really? Wow, thank you!“ Dragos had heard of such items before but never owned them. They were perfect for explorers who just started their job!

„Now come dear, let’s get your wounds treated!“ Only giving him a short gaze before turning around, Chinatsu followed her mother and left Dragos alone.

Chinatsus name was revealed.

[Plot Part 5]

With the hurt torchic leaning on Dragos, the two pokemon were on their way out of the Drenched Bluff.

“S-So what did you mean with the end of the cave? You really got there??”

“I already told you twice! …I..was looking for the tresure..but there was none..”

“A tresure? Here? Who told you such weird stuff? And what did you need it for?”

She went quiet, murmuring something under her breath. “Because the others wanted me to bring the treasure…to prove I’m strong too. I just…wanted them to stop talking bad about me…” 

Dragos was confused, so he gave her an encouraging smile. “What are you talking about? You got through a cave full of water pokemon all on your own! Noone should talk bad about you!”

A sudden idea passed his mind that made his heart beat faster in excitement.

He now glanced at her full of enthusiasm.

“Please be part of my team!”

[Plot Part 4]

“Here, take an Oran Berry. It will help you feel better..”

“O-oh thank you..” The Torchic carefully straightened her back to take a small bite. She then sighed and let her body rest against the wall again, waiting for the berries’ effect to kick in. “I’m sorry...” She whispered in exhaustion. “The Drenched Bluff is full of water and rock types..it’s hard for a fire type like me.”

“Phew, good for you that I found you fast enough, right? It would have been even worse if you had to get through this longer than a few minutes or-”

“A-actually I’ve been here for at least some hours…I made it to the end of the cave but…since there’s no exit and I ran out of items...I just went back to find the exit. Uh, untl I passed out and you found me that is..”

“Wait, what?! You made it to the end of the cave all alone?!”

Dragos and the Torchic begin their way out of the Cave.

“There it is, the Drenched Bluff!”

Dragos finally got here, already excited of what would happen next. It wasn’t his first time going into one of those ‘Mystery Dungeons’, but he never got in very deep. It still was dangerous, according to the adults at least.

“So what did the letter say again? Some Pokemon got lost in here? Well let’s find them! And maybe even a treasure!! Oooooh I can’t wait!!”

The Dragon quickly went inside.

“It’s been like forever now…where could this damn Torchic be?”

Dragos already spent over an hour looking for her in that cave. Why did a fire type even go in here? With mostly water and ground types living in this area, the Drenched Bluff was not quite a place fire type pokemon would like.

It took him a while, full of searching around and battling smaller Pokemon, until he finally could make out someone in a back corner. There in the shadows, an unconscious pokemon leaned against the cold stone wall.

“Arceus! A-are you alright?! What happened?!”

As the Torchic didn’t reply, he started to look at her body. She had some scratches and dirt all over her body, seemed like she had fought before. A small wound right above her left eye and her even worse wounded leg too gave him that impression.

“How should I get her out of here? It would be easier if she could walk herself..”

That was the moment she started moving a bit and opened her eyes.

“Hey!! Why do they hang that thing above mine?! No one will even be able to see it!”

Dragos snorted in anger, taking a closer look at the new paper placed just over his own. “Wait this is one of those rescue letters, isn’t it? Let’s see…”

“Important message!

A young Torchic got lost at the Drenched Bluff. The team to rescue her will get a reward of 100 Poké and a special item. Contact chief Aegislash for more information.”

“Got lost at the Drenched Bluff?.. Hey that’s it! I’ll just go there and rescue that pokemon! With the money I get I can already start working on a base! There’s not even a chance someone wouldn’t want to be on a team that already has a base and a leader that even took missions on his own!”

Swollen with pride the Dragon type took the letter with him and rushed home to get started - not even glancing back at the bulletin board once more.

Dragos is now on his way to the dungeon.

(ask-a-clumsy-wish) Delphi@Dragos: "Hello Mr. Blue Dragon! What kind of team members are you looking for? Strong, smart, defensive, fast? So many possibilities!"

“Hello Miss!

I know right?? I hope the new members are strong and brave just like me!” He chuckled before talking to her again.

“Well even if they’re not, I just want to have much fun with my new friends, exploring dungeons and searchng for tressures!

Speaking of it, I wonder if someone already read my letter on the bulletin board.” The Dratini grinned widely.

(ask-brandon-the-feraligatr) Diane@???: Aww what an adorable Dratini! I hope my daughter grows up to look as beautiful as you! What's your name sweetheart? We're you from?

“I’m neither adorable nor beautiful!! I’m an allmighty dragon!”

The Dratini straightened up to make himself seem bigger.

“My name is Dragos, and that’s a name to remember! I’m the decendent of a proud line of dragons who are well known for their strenght! But now I’m living in this town to show everyone what I’m capable of!”

Dragos’ name was revealed.

REBOOT

[as this blog has been quiet for a very long time (and the few followers it got most left tumblr over the time) I decided to reboot it! The few plot and interesting asks I posted will stay the same, be queued and repostet, but the overall design and style will be altered! I’ve had this story in my mind for nearly 3 years now, it’s time to finally tell it!]
