What's with the whole cyclopes looking eye (or lack there of) cover thing Telemachus has going on? Is there a reason behind it? :D

In the Blind!Tele fanfic on AO3 (written by me as zippyskyfalls teehee), Poseidon gave it to Telemachus as a "gift." A way for Telemachus to think maybe he should blame his father more than the sea god.

Telemachus doesn't know much about why the mask has the eye, he just assumed it was a way to represent that the mask was given to by Poseidon.

And he's tecnically correct. But the other reason is that Poseidon gave the mask so that if Odysseus ever saw his son again, he'd know exactly why this happened. He'd know he only had himself to blame for his son's pain, and all his cries.
