A picture of my Gotham OC Axel Fontana, alias “The Hatchet”, and later “Blackbird”.  The wings aren't around when she’s Hatchet, but they come into play once she becomes Blackbird; they are inspired color-wise by the red-winged blackbird.

The hatchets themselves don't actually look like they are in the first picture.  They’re supposed to look like the second picture.  They attach to Axel’s belt via electromagnets, which is also how she is able to “call” them back to her after throwing them, since she has electromagnets in her gloves as well.

Fiona Hart:  Luncheon with Mum

“Eggsy?” the young woman said, nudging her boyfriend’s bare shoulder.  “Eggsy.  C’mon, babe, wake up.”

“Hmnghh, five more minutes, love,” Eggsy grumbled, turning over and nuzzling into her neck.

“No, Egg Egg, come on.”  Fiona pulled the covers off of Eggsy before pulling him to sit up.  “You forgot, baby.  We’re having birthday luncheon with my mum today.”  Eggsy was wide awake in an instant.

“Oh, shit.”

The next half-hour was a flurry of showers, fixing of hair and frantic searches for that one pair of socks.  Finally though, Fiona and Eggsy were on their way out of the headquarters and to a local café.  

“We’re not too terribly late, are we, darlin’?” Eggsy asked, fussing over some invisible speck on his suit jacket.  Fiona smiled.  

“No, we’re not, in fact I think we arrived before my mum did.  Just before, actually, there she is now.  Mum!  Hullo, Mum, over here!”  She waved, and a well-dressed, incredibly petite woman with rosy cheeks, a froth of white curls and a wide smile hurried over to meet them.

“Fiona, darling, it’s so good to see you!” she cooed, enthusiastically pecking her daughter on both cheeks before hugging her.

“Hello, Mum,” said Fiona, squeezing her mother tightly, before Angela Godwin pulled back and noticed Eggsy.

“And who might this fine young man be?” she inquired, peering up at him.  Fiona giggled and wrapped her two arms around one of Eggsy’s.

“Oh, Mum, don't you remember Eggsy Unwin?  I told you we ran into each other again.”  Angela’s eyes lit up.

“Oh, yes, I remember now!  My, Eggsy, how you’ve grown up,” she said, shaking Eggsy’s hand.  “You’re the spitting image of your father, you realize.”  She prattled on about how tall he was and such, making him blush profusely while Fiona got them a table and menus.  

“Now, Mum, I believe I told you I had some news?” Fiona said once they were settled and the inevitable question about the well-being of Harry was established.  

“Yes, yes, dear, do tell!” Angela gushed, leaning forward.  Fiona glanced at Eggsy, her smile mirroring his own.

“Well, you see, there’s two things to tell you.  First...Eggsy and I are engaged.”  Angela clapped her hands in delight.  

“Splendid!  I’m really not surprised, you know.  And what’s the second thing?”  Fiona blushed and tucked her hair behind her ear, taking a deep breath.

“The second thing will be a surprise to Eggsy as well,” she said with a soft smile, looking over at her fiancé.  “I’m pregnant.”  Eggsy’s jaw dropped.

“You mean you’re...”  Fiona nodded.  “I’m going to be a...”  She nodded again, grinning.  “You’re having a baby?”  She laughed.

“Yes, Eggsy, a baby.”  He laughed and pulled her into a hug, rocking her back and forth.

“That’s wonderful, love,” he whispered, pulling away just slightly to kiss her cheek.  Meanwhile, in the background, Angela was clasping her hands together and rocking back and forth in her chair, grinning.

“Isn’t it just superb?” she asked the people around her.

Axel Fontana:  Why You Should Never Use Pick-up Lines on your Boyfriend when you Don't Really Know What They Mean

Axel hummed gently as she made her way into Jeremiah’s office.  The ginger male was sitting with his back to her, and she smiled as she wrapped her arms around his neck from behind.  

“Hey, you,” she said, kissing his cheek.  Jeremiah couldn't stifle a smile.

“Axel,” he greeted, tilting his head for the kiss on the cheek.  Axel purred gently and toyed with his shirt collar.

“Hey, you look like a hard worker,” she remarked.  He quirked a brow.

“Obviously.”

“I have an opening you can fill,” she said, smirking.  He raised the other eyebrow.

“Axel...did you hear the words which just came out of your mouth?  I don't think you quite understand what you’ve just said to me,” he remarked, standing up.  “Unless,” he continued, turning her so she was trapped between him and the workbench, “you came in here looking for trouble,” he purred, brushing his thumb over the hollow of her throat.

“I-is that what that line means?” she asked, shuddering at the feeling of his hand on her throat.  “I guess I’ll have to use it more often~”  Good save, Fontana.  Now just make sure you know what it means before you use it on him.

Fiona Hart:  Merlin’s Death

The young woman’s ears perked up as she heard the familiar sound of a Kingsman airplane landing.  Running outside, she grinned as she saw Eggsy exiting the plane, Harry close behind.  “You’re back!” Fiona called out as she ran to envelop her best friend in a hug.  He hugged back after a moment, though it wasn't the usual tight, strong Eggsy bear hug she was used to.  It felt...tired.

“Yeah...” he said quietly, resting his chin on her shoulder.  She pulled away and looked at him in the eyes.

“Eggsy, what happened?” she asked, resting her hands on his shoulders.  He didn't answer.  “Eggsy?  Talk to me, love.”

“We lost Merlin,” he said, looking down.  He sniffled, much to Fiona’s surprise.  She pulled him close into a tight hug.

“I’m so sorry, Eggsy,” she said softly, gently rubbing his back.  She tried to ignore the tears streaking her own face, mostly because Eggsy was crying at the moment and that was not fucking okay.  “Sh, sh, I promise, whoever dared to take Merlin from us will suffer the consequences.”  She rocked him back and forth, running her fingers gently through his hair to try to soothe her best friend in any way she could.

After a while, Eggsy managed to calm himself down and pulled away.  “You gonna be all right?” Fiona asked.  He nodded softly before giving a tired wave and trudging into the headquarters, leaving Fiona alone with her father.

“I’m sorry, Dad,” she said, surprising herself and Harry.  She hadn't called him Dad in years.  “I know how close you two were.”  She hugged him, a little awkwardly, and was surprised when he returned it, burying his face in her hair.

Fan Character Biography:  Fiona Morgan Hart

Being the daughter of Harry Hart was a blessing and a curse.  On one hand, it meant that you had a father who deeply cared for you and would do anything to protect you.  On the other...it meant that he was often absent from the home, doing...whatever it was he did for Kingsman.

Fiona forgot most of her childhood years after a while in captivity, but she remembered a few things.  Like those few times when she, Harry, and her mother Angela went to visit a friend of her dad’s named Lee.  Fiona had always liked Lee, and even referred to him as her uncle.  Once, when they were visiting, Fiona was relegated to the living room to hang out with Lee’s son, Eggsy.  Of course, that wasn't actually his real name, just a nickname given to him which stuck.  Fiona never remembered much about Eggsy, only that he had eyes the color of the sea.

Fiona didn't understand what was happening when Harry and his family visited Lee for the last time.  Being such a young child, she hadn't yet grasped the concept of death.

As she grew older, the relationship between her mother and father grew more tense, until finally, Harry left one day and just never returned.  Fiona tried to ask her mother where her dad went, but Angela, who had retaken her maiden name of Godwin, would never answer her directly.

Fast forward to when Fiona was nineteen years old.  She took a college trip to Moscow for a semester abroad...but never returned.  She was kidnapped by the Russian mob and kept in a cold, dark, isolated cell, barely being fed and never being spoken to.  She grew weak and paranoid, fearing that every creak of footsteps in the hallway meant another beating for making an unintended sound.

Little did Fiona know that she had become a national story back home in mother England, with her case being relegated to the final hope the Crown had of bringing her home:  Kingsman.  The secret organization sent their most valuable asset to retrieve the young woman:  the newly-promoted Agent Galahad.  

Once Eggsy infiltrated the base where Fiona was being held and subdued what guards he could find, he made his way to the drafty cell the young woman sat chained in.  

Fiona, now twenty-three and having quite forgotten the sound of the English language, was frightened at the appearance of the stranger, but managed to calm herself slightly when he showed no signs of hurting her.  Once she had been freed from the shackles binding her to the wall of the cell, she was conveyed to an airplane which was waiting outside the base, piloted by Merlin.  Fiona, delirious with a fever and still deathly afraid, was not able to clearly answer the questions asked of her, such as “What’s your name?” or ”Is there anyone we can call for you?”  There was only one thing she latched onto upon seeing the somewhat familiar logo embossed on the temple of Eggsy’s glasses.

“Kings...man...”

After a long stay in the infirmary of Kingsman headquarters and lots of sessions with a psychiatrist, Fiona began to improve.  She began to gain a healthy amount of weight, to where she regained the nice hourglass figure she had once had.  She re-learned how to speak, to walk, and how to do various tasks she had been unable to do for the last four years in captivity.  And she began to regain her memory.

Once she had recovered significantly, it was time to find out who she was and what connection she had to Kingsman.  It was then that Eggsy and Merlin, along with Roxy, who stayed with Fiona quite often during this time, discovered that Fiona was the daughter of none other than Harry Hart, presumed dead.

Eggsy also recalled a few distant memories himself, mostly of a little girl with red hair playing Snakes and Ladders with him in their family living room.  At some point, Fiona realized that the young man who had saved her life, was in fact the same boy with eyes like the sea who had been her one-time playmate.

Upon Harry’s eventual return, the father and daughter were reunited, though their relationship was rocky, as Fiona still blamed him for leaving their family.  Also striking a blow to Fiona’s recovery was the loss of Merlin and Roxy.  Upon hearing that the house where Eggsy had been staying had been blown up and that a charred body had been found in the rubble, Fiona was distraught, only calming down when Eggsy arrived, showing that he was perfectly unharmed.

During this turbulent period for the Kingsmen, it was decided that Fiona, with her superior skills in technology, should be the temporary replacement for Merlin, until more agents could be recruited.  In the meantime, Eggsy was assigned as her constant companion and bodyguard.  They grew much closer in their relationship, even going so far as to say they were each others’ best friends.  But over time, they began to see that what they had together wasn't just friendship.

It was love.
