The End of an Era

It seems a bit bizarre to say hello when you really mean goodbye. But here goes.

This blog was one of the most wonderful things that I did, I did it during a very difficult time in my life. I was struggling a lot with my depression at the time, but Attack on Titan, this fandom, so many of my followers, my mutuals and the friends that I made on here for a little while would make all of that go away. I remember staying up until 4 in the morning responding to asks, because I was just getting so many. All because I put some cheap makeup on, a basic wig and some fake nails on my face.

I met amazing people, made wonderful friends and had some wonderful experiences with so many of you, roleplayers, artists, fan fiction writers - the lot! You all inspired me so much that strangers could bind together and enjoy this fandom so much, and make everyone in it feel so included and happy.

I was reminded of all of this when I was looking through this laptop (which allowed me to do the blog!) and found my old details. I’ve enjoyed looking through old memes, posts, in jokes, roleplays, asks and what spawned so many happy memories. But at the same time, I looked up my old friends and followers - and saw that many of them are deactivated, inactive or have simply moved on to new things.

Sadly, time rolls on. People change, people move on, people do new things. That isn’t always a bad thing! I certainly did! I learnt so much since I made this blog. And I look forward to see what that next adventure might be.

So thank you SNK fandom, thank you to all the old Armins, Erens, Mikasas, potato girls and followers. You are what made this fandom so great.

I’m going to miss you all.

Honestly, I wonder if it’s worth me coming back to tumblr very much. I tend to follow a lot of friends, a load of the old SNK blogs and a chunk bloggers that I really like - yet somehow these stupendously high number of toxic, venomous and outright petty posts and mind sets just get thrown around here like they’re nothing.

I don’t even follow many blogs which reblog stuff like that (let alone any blogs who CREATE posts like that) I’ve been back on here for a whopping 3 minutes and I’ve seen a bunch of petty, bitchy and childish posts regarding the most asinine and small things. Not to mention the guilt tripping posts.

idk, I’d like to be here more - but with the SNK fandom being slower than a turtle with a tequila hangover and the toxicity I feel like there’s not much here for me any more.

I kinda hate romance in stories if I’m honest, or romantic sub plots, not really what I’m into the manga for. I’m in it for titans and steampunk spider man style acrobatics, not love triangles.
