Tossing the last of his shirts into his suitcase, Dave sighed, placing his hands on his hips and surveying the room as he attempted to ensure they hadn’t left anything behind. The shuffle of Brett’s footsteps behind him drew him from his thoughts, and Dave turned to pull his boyfriend to him slowly, pressing a kiss to his forehead. “Hey, babe. Do you have everything? I’m...Really sorry we weren’t able to stay a little longer. I wanted to, but...Mom...” His brows furrowed as his eyes fell, an obviously worried expression on his face. “I’m so happy you came with me, though. I can’t tell you how much fun I’ve had, just taking this all in, with you.”

I know, I know, I’m not exactly jumping for joy either. But at least we’ll be back, and you know you’re more than welcome at our place any time, Mercy. I love you, and I’ve loved being here. You know this. 

PM: Our original intention was to stay at least a couple more days, but...Dad called. Mom hasn’t been feeling well, and she’s refusing to go get checked out. I need to get back there, to be with her, and to convince her to get herself looked at. I’m...I’m scared, Mercy.

Wowza, it has been a hot minute since I’ve posted any sort of update! But, I thought now would be a good time, with the long weekend! The trip to New York has been incredible, I’m honestly sad that we have to leave tomorrow. I fought coming out here for so long, but getting to experience the city with Brett has opened my eyes to how cool things around here are. I’m excited to get back to my students, and my house, but I think we’ll definitely be coming back before too long! I think we’re going to head to Oliver Bray’s cookout this afternoon, so if we haven’t had the chance to see each other during this visit yet, I definitely want to see you there!  @atfgstarters​

Today I thought about cooling down with a sundae.  While deciding on what kind of sundae, I noticed they have pineapple as an option.  My question is, who asks for a pineapple sundae?  And if you are one of those people, do you also like pineapple on your pizza?   Is it because it’s tropical– is that why people like it? I am asking; for scientific and mathematical purposes.  How does everyone feel about this fruit as a topping for ice cream, and also for pizza.

That’s a lot to think about, Brittany. Especially considering I can safely say I’ve never thought about it before. But, I guess that’s because I always considered it normal? I mean, pineapple is frequently added as a topping on Banana Splits. So, I think it would make sense to have a Pineapple Sunday. As far as pizza goes, I don’t absolutely hate pineapple on it. I don’t understand the big debate, ultimately.

“You are,” Brett insisted defiantly, with a playful tone and bouncing eyebrows. His gaze never left Dave and he stayed as close as he could be, returning every affection and granting plenty of his own. Brett was a touchy person, he was all about physical affection. There wasn’t a moment where he wasn’t touching Dave in some gentle way. Especially when they kissed and while he listened to the other man. “Okay, I give in. Do you need anything from me to make this happen? When do you wanna go? It sounds like your friends miss you. I’d miss you too, if I was out in New York and you were still here. I’ll go anywhere with you though. Just say the word. Or even don’t. Just pick me up and carry me there. Dragging works too. Or luring with the scent of pizza and cookies like Bugs Bunny.”

Brett’s teasing came and Dave rolled his eyes playfully, drawing the other into his body even further, wrapping his arms around Brett’s back and shoulders, bringing him to rest against Dave’s own chest. “I have a million arguments prepared to show you how wrong you are, but I just can’t bring myself to argue with you, handsome. I guess we’ll just have to agree to disagree on this one.” The amount of physical affection Brett gave had been surprising to Dave, but not unwelcome in the slightest. The truth was, Dave himself craved a lot of physical affection, second only to his primary love language necessity of words of affirmation. The longer they were together, the more apparent it was how well they fit. As if it had always been meant to be. “I’m glad. Though, don’t think you didn’t drive a hard bargain. It was a tough sell, you held out well. Nope, I don’t. Other than for you to pack, and be ready to go...Tomorrow night?” Dave asked, cocking an eyebrow. “Yeah, I guess they do. And I miss them, too. New York just...Isn’t a forever place for me. But, I should go visit them more. It’s hard, with mom....And Sebastian doesn’t even know about that. Anyway, that’s...I like that, Brett. That means a lot to me. For you to say that. And for me to know you mean it.” Dave leaned forward, pressing his cheek to Brett’s head. “You’re an uncomplicated man. That’s one of the things I love most about you.” The words came before Dave could stop them, though immediately after his eyes widened to a size akin to saucer’s, his face turning beet red. “I- I mean I...I love- I just...Oh, wow.”

As Dave pulled him closer, Brett scooted, making it easier. By the end of it, he was as close as could be, smiling that empty-looking (but Dave knew better) smile that he was so known for. His fingers were kissed and he couldn’t help but think about how sweet it was. His wrist twisted gently to allow him to draw his thumb along Dave’s lower lip and then his fingertips drew along his jawline. “Do you have any idea how stellar you are? Like… rockstar level. You’re so wonderful. Do I want to go? With you? Of course I do. I never thought I’d leave Ohio, you know.”

Having Brett as close as he was had once felt so foreign to Dave, though now he couldn’t imagine anything between them being any different. It had been over a month since Brett had asked the question Dave had waited so long to hear, and things could not have been any more perfect than what they were. With each passing day, more of Dave’s walls came tumbling down, and he found himself falling deeper into Brett with every breath. The feeling of his boyfriend’s fingertip as it slid gently over his lips drew a soft gasp, followed by a light laugh as it continued its journey along his jawline. Shaking his head, Dave gave a lopsided grin. “I’m not, really. But its really, really stellar that you think so. It’s almost funny, too, because I think the same thing about you. You’re perfect.” He replied, punctuating his words with a kiss to Brett’s lips. “I might have guessed as much, but that’s not something you have to think about. Not ever again. I want to go everywhere with you. To explore everything. To see things and experience things...Together.” Dave’s cheeks flushed at his own admission, though he pressed on. “Mercy has been practically begging me to come to New York. Sebastian has mentioned it a few times, too. How does that sound to you? A week in the city?”

Dave: Hey, Kurt. I know we haven't talked in a while, so...I wanted to reach out. Some timing, huh?

Dave: Listen, I just wanted to send my congratulations to you both. I wish you two all the best, truly. I've already mailed your wedding gift too! Please, would you let me know when it arrives?

Dave: It isn't possible for me to roll my eyes any harder. Or to smile any wider. Thank you, Sebastian. You don't need to, I know you're a busy guy. But it would be...Really, really great to see you. You're hilarious. If you wanted to have a sleepover with me you could have just said so.

Hunter: Thanks, but...Anyway, you deserve it too. You do.

Hunter: Excellent, that's why I said it. Sebastian Smythe shouldn't be just 'alright'. Tell me what's really going on. Do you mean that, Sebastian? Or are you just....Saying it? Be safe, okay? Please.

Bas: You beautiful man, I need to come down to Ohio and show you how much fun the newly single life can be. Maybe I'll get lucky and you'll come home with me.

Bas: I know how bad the Blaine Blues must be. He'd leave anyone for the blue eyed wonder, in any timeline. Not that it makes it any easier.

Dave: You don't have to do that, Sebastian. I appreciate the sentiment though, thank you. You...Want me to come home with you? Like, New York home? Or figure of speech home?

Dave: Yeah. I know you do. I know that's the truth, too. It's alright. I understand it, obviously. And I do want him to be happy. For both of them to be happy. They deserve it.

Dave: You didn't answer the question. How are you, Sebastian?
