Moderator Post: Important. Please Read.

I never wanted to make a post like this; I honestly never thought that I would have to, but unfortunately I've suffered a great loss and I think that they would have wanted others to know what happened.

I got a phone call today that my dear friend @yahiis-resort (alt. @tulparty and @ask-leora-elara) passed away on Monday night after a medical emergency. They had just come out from being intubated, and unfortunately passed from additional complications.

I can't even begin to express how fucking heartbroken I am. Leora was one of my best friends... my right-hand man- someone I trusted more than anything. They genuinely lit up my life in ways not many people do, and they will be so fucking deeply missed.

The last words I spoke to them were "I love you" and "I missed you", and those will be true for the rest of my life.

I ask that you please respect me and the fellow ADJ au blog owners privacy and allow us to grieve the loss of our friend. I'm in contact with the family and we will be sending flowers and helping them with whatever they may need on behalf of everyone who has ever had the gift of their presence and friendship.

This blog, and probably the others, will be on hiatus for a few days while we gather our thoughts and process things. I can't stop sobbing and I just can't look at these accounts right now without an overwhelming tidal wave of loss and grief.

I'm really sorry to those who had to hear this from me. I'm sorry to those who have to read this through a stupid fucking irrelevant ask blog. I'm just sorry to the entire world because it lost someone so kind and irreplaceable.

Would you rather give up the love of your life or give up your family?

I assume this is relevant to the current happenings... but I'll bite.

When you grow up and you find the person you love, they don't become a part of your current family. You are making YOUR OWN, brand new family. I'm sure other people would disagree but... to me, that's a part of growing up.

So, I think if I had to chose, I'd pick my NEW family (love of my life) over the ones that cannot accept me for who I am (my family).

That's... pretty much how I feel about it.

I don't know if I can call him a friend just yet but there has been progress. Not hating each other is nice.

And yes, I know Pidge, but not very well! We've met on a few occasions.

Me and Jimmy are on good terms right now. I can appreciate his willingness and commitment to accepting change. We've been writing each other quite a bit.

I got your last letter. Thank you for filling me in on the outside world. It's oddly comforting. Do you think you could include pictures next time you write? I know it's a hassle but the only channel they have on in the common areas are for PG-13 movies and if I have to watch Mrs. Doubtfire one more time I think I'm going to go crazy.

Did you ever finish watching Black Mirror? I told you it was good, didn't l? i knew you'd like it. You should watch Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities next, that one's pretty good too.

Is there anything you love to do on your days off that you'd suggest others to do? I'd like to hear regardless but yeah :)

I LOVE discovering new hobbies in my free time but I never stick with them long. I used to think it was because I was lazy, but Curly once said I had a curious mind and a love for life and new things... so that's how I describe it now.

I'm really into cross stitching lately! It gets my mind off things after a long week.

If I was to give advice I'd say try a little of everything and try not to make fun activities into commitments!

I am, unfortunately, well educated about omegaverse. Though, I am more used to it being called A/B/O. I can't say I'm a fan.

How’s life been?

Very busy! A lot of people think that the winter season is the busiest for embalmers but I beg to differ!

Otherwise, I've been good. I've been visiting Jimmy pretty often, which is weird because we used to not be able to sit in the same room, and now we're chatting over coffee about horror anthologies twice a week. I have to say, I'm impressed.

I wouldn't say we're friends, but at least I don't get hives whenever I think about him anymore.

As much as I love Curly I also think he's in the wrong for not contacting Jimmy (as sympathetic as I am for his current situation).

We planned on having lunch together today and he wants to reschedule for tomorrow, which interests me because Monday is one of the rehab facilities' visitation days.

I was actually going to tag along with Daisuke to see Jimmy.

This is going to sound rather insensitive. I'm doing no different than normal. I'm glad Jimmy went for help, of course, but we aren't friends so my sympathy doesn't extend past worrying about Curly.

Daisuke did ask me if I wanted to come with him today to visit Jimmy and I politely declined. If Jimmy wants to contact me I am open to it, but I won't be reaching out.

To Jimmy, 

I’m at a loss for words. I never thought I would be surrounded by a group of people who love someone quite this much.

Jimmy, you and I aren’t friends. We don’t get along. The reasons are so obvious to me, and yet when I go to explain them to other people I almost feel guilty. My reasons for not liking you are directly influenced by how you act and treat the ones you love, and when I take into account why- this addiction- it puts things into perspective in a way I didn’t expect.

When Daisuke asked me to be a part of this intervention I almost said no, but I thought about the night I had to pick you up drunk at a bar. You were covered in your own vomit and you were crying about how “terrible you were” and how you “couldn’t stop yourself” from ruining everything. That’s the thing, you can. I decided to put my money towards your treatment because I do believe in you and know you can be a better man. You want to, I know you do. The facility that we want to send you to is one of the best. One of my friends I met through a support group for LGBT individuals went to this center and said that it changed his life. I’m hoping it can do the same for you. If you don’t go, I fear you will be further isolated from the lives of people who love you. Please accept the help we all feel you deserve.
