i wanted to make these designs a tad more realistic to the actual fish they don't HAVE to be how seaworld is drawn, the old designs are just fine, these ones are just for fun. seaworld was the friends we made along the way oh and this one is for the 5 bendee stick fans out there

WE NEED TORD PUFFED UP WITH IRRITATION AT EDD'S PUNS

Tord would only puff up in self defense, or when he's especially scared or threatened, not just angry or ticked off. It takes a lot of energy out of him, so if he puffed up at every slight annoyance, especially Edd's puns, he'd die of exhaustion.

Instead, he opts for a more direct way of expressing his frustrations.

How are the big sea animals in this world? Like blue whales or giant squids

from seaworld creator: depends on the mutation. if they grew up into seafish, they become normal sized, but if they grow into landfish theyre just about a bit larger than the average human? shaq size.

me now: So yea, Seafish will be the size they are irl, whereas Landfish will stay at a semi-normal human size once they're that big. I'm guessing it's easier for large fish to know they're going to become Landfish if their growth is stunted early on. Most very large fish would not become Landfish, though. Blue Whales don't often, but might. Landfish Blue Whales would be even bigger than Edd, maybe even have certain issues bc of how large their bodies are(like humans who are extremely tall's legs not being able to support their weight). Giant squids, much the same.

Has Edd never wanted to ... Eat others, like a shark?

No, he's got no instincts to eat living fish, or any fish he didn't buy from the store. He might have eaten through capture before puberty, but that was mere necessity, not something he'd ever go back to doing. Though he does love to tease his friends(esp Tord, who often is a bit of a scaredy-fish about his size) by making jokes about it, he's just a chill guy with a sense of humour.

The reason Bing and Tord have been so scared of him before is mostly just that Seafish have a rather founded fear of sharks. They're treated better and are dominate predators, whether in Sea or Land. The thing is that Edd could eat a Seafish on Land and nobody would care that much, but he wouldn't. He sees them as equal beings, esp since he's got a pretty cool Seafish friend, thank god.

I had a silly thought of Tord's room in the house being a literal pool with his stuff on it since it's hard to keep coming back and forth from the sea

Yes, Tord would not be going to and from Sea just for trivial stuff, as there are boarders which are hard to cross. Think how hard it is to travel from country to country, now imagine if economy was near nonexistent where you're living and you had to pay to go to the country you want to go to. That's Land and Sea, basically. He'd have his own room at their house on Land, which would actually just be like all his friends' rooms. He usually stays in his tank, even when sleeping, so a pool full of supplies would be unnecessary, and a little hard to do. Tord uses the washroom tub to stretch his fins, when he needs to. I'd imagine Seaworld bathtubs are much larger than real ones, more like small pools, since even Landfish need a bit of moisture every now and again and they'd be used much more often than in human society.

Tord wouldn't take his robo suit off that often on Land, even within the comfort of his own home. Too risky. After being up there so long, sometimes he forgets it's not a part of his actual body.

some info on the new fish in town:

Kim and Katya are both Merfish, Kim is a Betta and Katya is a Chromis. You'll notice Katya doesn't have legs while Kim does! Sometimes Seafish will grow, but retain certain aspects. Merfish are Seafish because they can't go on Land, since they still breathe exclusively out of their gills, but they grow the same way Landfish do, just with more fishy properties to survive underwater. Sometimes certain properties don't grow when they should, though. For Katya, her legs never grew in. There are ways for Merfish to move onto Land, it's easier for them than other Seafish, but Katya is mostly stuck because of the lack of legs, so Kim stays in Sea with her <3

Paul and Patryck are both Seafish, Paul is a Sockeye Salmon while Patryck is an Axolotl. Paul escaped from a Seafish food farm after gaining the first phase of Landfish puberty: hair. However, he didn't grow any more than his brows. Patryck comes from a fish type that quite usually experiences Landfish puberty, yet he didn't. He was left behind by his family who all went to Land. Pat and Paul are Tord's Sea friends. They don't feel like going through the horrible trouble of trying to get into and then navigate Land which means Tord rarely, if ever, gets to see them anymore.

Laurel is a dolphin, which grow similarly to sharks like Edd. Both fish types are very privileged in fish society due to having one of the closest bodies to what is considered "perfect". They're usually the beauty standard up on Land. White and able-bodied metaphor or whatevr

Hello! May I ask what creature Larry is? I know that Bing's an angler fish but I couldn't identify what Larry is.

Firstly, me and seaworld creator decided to redesign Bing as a Clownfish to make him and Larry(a Sea Anemone) more uniform. Larry is Bing's Landfish assistant, his way of moving up on the surface. Like a living version of Tord's robo-suit. Larry can inject a neurotoxin, just like real life Sea Anemones, which Bing is immune to, just like real life Clownfish. When Bing wants some alone time or is frightened in some way, Larry puts him in his hair to protect him. He's basically an aid and a bodyguard.

Bing prolly does all the same stuff he normally does just as a fish, came to Land to make crappy movies, does a lot of evil experiments. He and Larry are almost always in the same room since Larry has to be his legs and arms and stabilizer, but Bing is totally fine with that. He likes having company, and Larry dgaf and rarely bothers him.

He may or may not be working on figuring out the Landfish mutation and how it operates, and may or may not be using copies of Larry and the main 4's DNA to figure it out. This may or may not be immoral, but he's evil so whatev.

Are their lifespan all the same?

So the Landfish all have human lifespans, but the Seafish have varying lifespans dependent on the kinda fish they are. However, their lives are longer than the fish irl due to radiation and larger sea space. Some Seafish live longer than Landfish and some live shorter, but all the Landfish(Edd, Tom, and Matt, for example) have similar lifespans, about 70~80 years. Whereas a Puffer Seafish like Tord might have one closer to 40~ years. It's a little messy, but that's what me and the Seaworld creator decided made sense.

what would Tord look like if he was as full-fledged as the other guys? I don't know what to call it, like...so that he had his own full-fledged arms or legs and was big, I think I asked more or less clearly.

I understand that this is his peculiarity, and I adore him for it, but he looks so funny and frivolous compared to others that I want to give him at least a chance to feel his size haha

the word for fish with lungs that can move around up on Land is Landfish, so here's what Tord would look like if he was a Landfish!

I think Tord's struggles as a fully independent Seafish up on Land are very interesting and they're meant to be disability coded so I kept the disability angle. It's a large part of his character and story imo, so I didn't want to just "fix" him or what have you.

Regardless, I think he prefers his smaller fishy body, least he's in control of the look and feel of the Land body he inhabits that way.

I'm unsure if you meant just general Goulden or specifically older Goulden like 2007, but I did 2007 Eddsworld. if you're wondering why the colours look so garish it's bc Edd Gould only ever used the flash preset colors so that's what I did too

and you can check those out if you so please! but to answer directly: yes, Tord built it all by himself. I like to believe he used a bunch of scrap metal he found lying around underwater :] he's a gifted inventor!
