The year is 2023 and a lot has happened since the days that the Lima, Ohio alumni walked the halls as students in their respective schools. Vice President Sue Sylvester has decided to follow Rachel Berry's big win at the Tony's by pushing a new bill that will add more musical programming to schools across the country. Students as young as preschoolers will benefit from this bill. To prove that she has a case for the benefits that music programs bring to children and schools, she has implored the glee club alumni from her past to run to social media to make their voices and stories known. If anyone can prove to the world that children need to be exposed to music programming, it would be the students that proved it to her by rising above her attempts to destroy them. Find out what the glee kids are up to now that they're all grown up and explore the places that their friendships will take them with ASK THE FUTURE GLEEKS.

1.) What did you want to do with your life when you were younger? What would the child version of yourself think about the path you paved for yourself?
There were so many different things I wanted to be when I was younger. It was constantly changing and being influenced by media and experiences. I wanted to be a astronaut, a fireman, a doctor, an actor, a teacher, a military pilot, a rockstar, a chemist, a banker....but when it was time to make decisions about life after Dalton, studying computer science seemed to make the most sense as a jumping off point. I was thinking web design, maybe programing. We barely knew what apps were back then.
Did I see myself leaving Northwestern with my roommate and moving to Silicon Valley to work in a tech think tank? No. But California was such an adventure and I loved it. And as great as the think tank was, leaving it to develop something of our own, just ours, was the best. Deciding to come to the East coast once the App took off and to go off on my own, is a little daunting, but honestly, it’s time.
2.) What is your proudest accomplishment? Don’t be afraid to talk about what it took to achieve it and how you feel about it as well.
Hands down- having created Social Byte. I don’t know if other creative types get this paternal/maternal feeling over the things they create, but Social Byte is like my child.
I’m also pretty proud of myself for having decided to branch off on my own now, and come east. A new adventure. Even if it's taken me years to do so.
3.) If you could do anything you wanted for one whole day, what would it be and why?
I would do anything. For me, it would be less about the what and more about the who. Or who’s. Spend a whole day with someone or someone's that it’s always easy to be around. And do whatever, but bask in the enjoyment of their company. I’ve been away from the people I grew up with, some important people, for too long. I’d try to fix that. I’m going to fix that, now that I’m on the East coast.
where are they now?
Even after the steroid scandal that rocked the Warblers in his senior year, Nick was able to turn that into a real learning and growing experience by making it the topic of his admission essays. He ended up getting accepted to several schools, including Northwestern University in Chicago, where he ultimately decided to go. Not going to New York, or the East coast, like it seemed like so many of his friends were was a hard decision for Nick.
Computer science ended up suiting Nick, and he went on to complete an Master of Science in Information Technology. Nick was also lucky that right off the bat he met Ryan, his roommate. For the second time, Nick found himself with a roommate that he clicked with almost instantly. They were in the same program, they were roommates, study buddies, sounding boards, and the best of friends. It made missing his Warbler and Dalton friends a little more bearable. And because it didn’t feel so bad, Nick was more easily able to try and keep his friendships going with his Warbler and Dalton friends all across the country. Nick was constantly sending cards, sometimes letters, post cards, emails, posts on various social medias, trying to keep any bits of communication open with everyone.
After completing their MS IT at Northwestern, Ryan convinced Nick to go West with him- where he was from originally. 18 months with the think tank they left it to pursue their own project, and Social Byte was born. Despite the closeness of their friendship, being roommates for years, moving across the country together, it was strictly platonic. Which suited Nick just fine anyway.
Once Social Byte hit the market and exploded, Nick decided it was time to branch out and go off and try something on his own. This was also influenced by his want to move to the East coast and Ryan’s desire to stay in California. It’s his birthday week and Nick Duval can’t think of anything more fitting than starting a new adventure, in a new city, closer to quite a few of his high school and even college friends.

1.) What did you want to do with your life when you were younger? What would the child version of yourself think about the path you paved for yourself?
To be honest, I always wanted to be a performer. Maybe I just wanted the attention. But I leaned that maybe that wasn’t my path; even after a part in one of Artie's films. Attending Brown was a great experience and I spent a lot of time studying women’s history, women studies, and creative writing. I learned to be a bit of an activist. I wish I’d learned some of these ways to stand up for myself before college and maybe then I would have stood out more in the choir room.
I think child me would side eye the fact that I’m a librarian. But would find it cool that I’m a published author and would really love the books I’ve written.
2.) What is your proudest accomplishment? Don’t be afraid to talk about what it took to achieve it and how you feel about it as well.
My books. I hope I’m providing representation for children that have been through the systems the way my siblings and I have. I hope I’m providing representation for all the children who come from home that is no longer the 50s or 60s nuclear family unit. And for someone that wanted to be a performer and wanted the attention, I’m proud of myself for writing my books under a pen name. It’s not that hard to figure out, but it allows me normalcy day to day in the library.
3.) If you could do anything you wanted for one whole day, what would it be and why?
I’d love to perform on stage. Maybe join one of my more famous and talented friends, or former show choir competitors on stage and just sing and perform for the hell of it. Some of my favorite memories as a teenager, are actually on stage.
where are they now?
Attending Brown was an amazing experience for Tina. She started her journey by studying acting, and joining a choir and dance troupe to keep up her skills from show choir. But it wasn’t any easier for Tina to be noticed at Brown than it was in the choir room at McKinley, even after a successful role in film of Artie's. A class in women’s history, turned into several and an change in her program. Tina went on to study women’s history, women’s studies, and creative writing. She graduated with a Honors Bachelor of Arts in creative writing with a minor in women’s studies. She continued to perform, for fun. But with her courses, Tina also learned to be a bit of an activist and began to write for the on campus student blog and started a personal one of her own.
It was on her personal blog, sharing her story about being adopted, the untraditional nature of her family that she got the idea to write a series of children’s books about non traditional families. After graduating from Brown, Tina moved home to Lima to write her book. It just so happened that WMHS needed a new librarian, and although she had zero experience, she knew the school, she knew some of the staff, and Tina found herself with a job that still encourages her to write.
Tina has the worst luck when it comes to relationships. While at Brown Tina was more open to many things and had a couple of short but meaningful relationships with men and women. Although he was her ex, working with Artie on his movie was easy due to the friendship they had always maintained. They even rekindled their former relationship for a brief time. But while they had both grown and matured a lot, their relationship ended very amicably. She maintains several close male friendships, including her exes Artie Abrams and Mike Chang.
Potential connections: Any of the other former ND including but not limited to Sam Evans, Kitty Wilde, and Artie Abrams. Other former students at Brown (with a romantic/sexual or platonic connection to Tina), and of course, her siblings.

1.) What did you want to do with your life when you were younger? What would the child version of yourself think about the path you paved for yourself?
Oh, I can promise I achieved my dreams. My family always jokes that I danced out of my mother, and all I've ever wanted was to perform. Getting to do that is incredible, and I have no doubt that my younger self is and would be immensely proud.
2.) What is your proudest accomplishment? Don’t be afraid to talk about what it took to achieve it and how you feel about it as well.
It's almost impossible to pick a proudest, so the question is a little tough to answer. Some of my proudest were graduating from high school, graduating from college, nailing my Giants audition...
3.) If you could do anything you wanted for one whole day, what would it be and why?
I'm living my dreams, so I really don't have a need to answer this. I already do exactly what I want.
where are they now? Growing up it was clear that Baylee was a performer at heart. From the time she could talk she was singing, and was dancing even before she could walk. from the time she was a young girl Baylee was absolutely goal oriented and focused. She had dreams, and she believed in their power. From the age of six she vowed to herself that she would do whatever it took to accomplish and achieve those goals. All that came with that was what remained her focus- grades, her health, and practicing at every waking and free moment. After graduating high school Baylee was accepted into Juilliard. During her freshman year she auditioned to join the New York Giant's Cheerleading team, and made the cut. After graduating Juilliard, she auditioned for Broadway to supplement her cheerleading career. She still does both while living full-time in NYC.

1.) What did you want to do with your life when you were younger? What would the child version of yourself think about the path you paved for yourself?
When I was younger? I wanted to be a lot of things. A singer, a dancer, a chef, a firefighter, a vet…I could go on. Little me changed careers more times than I can count. But considering what I’m doing now, I don’t think I would be too upset with myself.
2.) What is your proudest accomplishment? Don’t be afraid to talk about what it took to achieve it and how you feel about it as well.
I can’t believe you’re asking me to pick just one. Becoming a Warbler, graduating from Dalton. Signing with my first label. My first album. All of it took hard work, all of it took dedication, and all of it took a drive to succeed. I sacrificed a lot, I struggled a lot, and there were many times I thought I might not make it. But I did, and that’s…Rad.
3.) If you could do anything you wanted for one whole day, what would it be and why?
This is probably wayyyyy too common of an answer, but I would really do nothing. Not a thing. Not one singular thing. Aside from waking up and doing whatever I want. I love my career, I wouldn’t trade it. But, it does get tiring, being a grown man who can’t make his own schedule. I would eat way too much serial, lounge around my house naked, overdose on reality television, and take time to refresh myself.
where are they now?
After graduating from Dalton, Jeff went immediately into college in New York. He majored in Music Theory and minored in Creative Writing. During his time in college he began playing at open mic nights and various coffee shops and free venues, open to artists looking for their break. During his senior year, Jeff played for a Battle of the Bands, which carried a prize of $3,000 and a meeting with one of the city’s most well-known producers, who was participating for charity purposes. Through what he still considers to be some kind of miracle, Jeff won. Two weeks later, he graduated from college, and two weeks after that, he met with the music producer. It was a meeting that changed his life. Within six months he had recorded and dropped his first single, “Neon Electric”, which reached #1 on the charts within 24 hours. From there, things seemed to skyrocket. Jeff’s social media accounts blew up, and suddenly he found himself living his own biggest dream. Riding the wave, Jeff continued to play and make music, turning out his first album within two years of his first meeting with the producer. By 27, he had dropped another, and booked his first tour. The tour took place just after he turned 28, and he toured America, stopping in nearly every major city. Currently, Jeff is working on his new album, and has just dropped another hit single. While he enjoys that he has achieved his dream, he puts a lot of pressure on himself to be perfect; a perfect musician, rolemodel, and person. He struggles with depression behind closed doors, and sometimes wonders about what life would have been like if he would have pursued another route.

1.) What did you want to do with your life when you were younger? What would the child version of yourself think about the path you paved for yourself?
for most of my life i honestly had very little clue about what i actually wanted to do. i went back and forth between a lot of different career options, and doing things that would keep me happy for a couple of months, and then i would burn out. i finally realized that probably meant i should do something that i could control, which is why i went into business for myself. so, i think my younger self would really just be happy that i'm happy.
2.) What is your proudest accomplishment? Don’t be afraid to talk about what it took to achieve it and how you feel about it as well.
opening my shop, hands down. it took so long for me to realize that's what i wanted, and then once i did it was nothing but saving and research, research and saving for what felt like an eternity. of course once everything came together it was totally worth it, and i'm grateful that the process was so much and so stressful.
3.) If you could do anything you wanted for one whole day, what would it be and why?
for one whole day? gosh that's a big ask. uh. maybe go to an amusement park or a fair of some sort? just that feeling of freedom and giddiness...i think it would do me some good.
where are they now? alara was adopted by the cohen-changs at the age of 9 after being in the system since she was only a few months old. her father split from her mother the moment he learned of her pregnancy, and alara's young mother felt nothing but bitterness towards her daughter for 'driving her boyfriend away'. the system wasn't kind to alara, but she found a different life with the cohen-changs. growing up she was obedient, intelligent, and helpful, and she truly got along well with and loved her siblings and family. she is still close with them today, and would do anything for any of them.

probably actually being able to buy my apartment. nyc is a tough place to be financially and especially for anyone who actually wants to own something. but i started saving young, and made it happen.

1.) What did you want to do with your life when you were younger? What would the child version of yourself think about the path you paved for yourself?
Since I was a child, I knew that I was expected to do something ‘important’ with my life, and something ‘smart’, like be a lawyer, or a doctor, or go into finance or some more prestigious branch of business. On the other hand, I, wanted to be a dancer. It took a long time for my parents, especially my father, to come around. It took him seeing me perform as a Jet, in West Side Story during my senior year, and watching me develop my audition for a couple of Arts schools before he really came around. I was accepted to a couple of schools, but the Joffrey Ballet Academy in Chicago was always my first choice. Getting my parents to come around about me following my dreams also gave me the confidence to come out to them in my sophomore year of college, even though I had suspected for longer than that, that I wasn’t straight.
However, an unfortunate injury made me reconsider my passions and dreams. While I can still dance, for the most part, I won't be able to at the level I'd hoped. It's still a passion, but more of a stress relief or hobby at this point. But a welcome one. Medical school, and then residency, has not been easy. My parents were very proud of me following a more prestigious career, but honestly, I was inspired by some of the health care professionals that helped me when I was injured.

2.) What is your proudest accomplishment? Don’t be afraid to talk about what it took to achieve it and how you feel about it as well.
Getting my parents on board with mylife. And receiving a scholarship to the Joffrey Academy of Dance in Chicago. That was when it all stopped being just this dream, you know? Even if my path has changed to something they are more supportive of now, my parents never encouraged me to stop dancing-- which means to me that they know how much dance means to me.

Mike went to Joffrey Ballet Academy in Chicago after high school. In his sophomore year, two things changed Mike's life. First, he met Drew, and finally publicly admitted something he had suspected since high school- that he was also attracted to men. And on one of their first dates ice skating, Mike suffered a patellar dislocation and broken leg. Both required surgery, and in the case of the patellar dislocation, a slight complication lead Mike to reconsider his goals. Mike and Drew continued to date for two years, even once Mike changed schools and started a bachelor of science degree at Northwestern University. However, when Drew graduated and moved to LA to choregraph Mike already knew long distance relationships were not for him, and they broke up amicably. Once he completed his studies at Northwestern, Mike moved to NYC to attend Columbia Medical School. Mike lives in a tiny loft, and enjoys the vibe and culture of the city when he has the time. His goal with his medical career is to help performers. He'd also like to find time to volunteer to teach dance at some point.

after his unceremonious exit from dalton academy hunter was forced back into a military academy by his father. due to the strings his father pulled as well as the weight his family name carried he was able to avoid jail or juvenile time, though he was required to complete hefty amounts of community service, pay a fine, and attend both drug and anger management classes. once he had graduated high school and paid his debt to society he went immediately into college, where he followed an accelerated program to earn his BA in History in three years. Following graduation he enlisted in the military and attended bootcamp, quickly finished, and rose through the ranks. his time, however, was cut short when he was involved in a helicopter crash overseas. he survived, though not uninjured. during his recovery he earned a Masters in Anthropology, after which he moved to nyc and began working for the museum. climbing through the ranks he began earning his Ph.D and upon graduation was offered the position of curator.

1.) What did you want to do with your life when you were younger? What would the child version of yourself think about the path you paved for yourself?
When I was younger, I really wanted to be a pro ball player. Football, more specifically. I always thought I’d play through college, and then get drafted into the NFL. Obviously, things didn’t happen like that, and that’s totally fine. It wasn’t for me. I think a younger version of me would be proud of myself. And, I’m not just saying that either. Even though I didn’t go pro, I’m doing something I love. I’m learning, I’m growing, and I’m appreciating myself more than I ever have.
2.) What is your proudest accomplishment? Don’t be afraid to talk about what it took to achieve it and how you feel about it as well.
My proudest accomplishment was honestly graduating college. Getting through school- primarily middle and high school- was a challenge I wasn’t prepared for on any level. I made a lot of mistakes, and I did a lot of stuff I’m really not proud of. But, I pushed through. I made it. I survived.
3.) If you could do anything you wanted for one whole day, what would it be and why?
I would start the day off with a nice cup of coffee on my porch, enjoying the sunrise, and just listening to the birds as they sing. Then, I would magically appear at a Bears game, one that would go into overtime, and would be a nail biter to the very end (until they won, of course). I’d have dinner at my favorite cafe in town, and then I’d close the day by reading one of my favorite books.
where are they now?
Dave Ean Karofsky was raised in a loving home, by accepting parents. His father, James, was a salesman with a good career, making more than decent money, though not enough to classify the family as traditionally wealthy. His mother, Kathy, was an art teacher for the majority of his life. Everything seemed happy, healthy, and wholesome within the Karofsky family, though things with Dave often seemed just a *little* bit off. Well-adjusted wasn’t how the majority of people would have ever described Dave as a child. It seemed as though he was always searching for something different, something more, something outside of the traditional Karofsky days.
Moving into middle and high school was tough for Dave, and once he fully realized how truly cutthroat those age groups could be, he knew he had to do something. So, he altered himself. Similar to the color-changing chameleon, Dave began to do whatever he had to in order to fit in. He took up football, changed his personality, and launched himself into popularity. However, once again, no matter what he did or how hard he tried, something just didn’t quite seem to fit. It was that knowledge, that feeling, which began to fuel Dave’s anger. He’d worked so hard to force himself into a mold, he began to feel a sense of anger towards those who simply couldn’t be bothered to care.
Moving into high school, he began to realize exactly what those feelings were, and where they stemmed from. The realization that he was gay was a slow one, and when it finally shifted into a realization, Dave was absolutely lost. His anger grew, as did his discomfort, and his desperation to be what he’d always thought he wanted to be- just like everyone else. Once things came to light, and after all was said and done, Dave was so completely ostracized for who he was, he couldn’t take the pressure. One heartbreaking attempt later, and he began to realize that no matter what the opinions of others were, at the end of the day, they simply didn’t matter.
Once he had that realization, everything changed. Dave became something he couldn’t ever truly remember being- happy. He continued playing football, and passed each of his classes with flying colors. He’d always been intelligent, though allowing himself to fall fully into who he truly was lead him to the top of his class, where he graduated as Salutatorian. College was even better. He continued playing football, though he decided to major in Biology Education, wanting to have an impact on lives during a time that had been so important to him.
During college, Dave met his first boyfriend, and lost his virginity. Things didn’t work out, and that relationship was followed with a string of several others that didn’t work out, though he saw each of them as a lesson, and held no hard feelings. It was no secret that one of his exs, Blaine Anderson, was someone he fell deeply for, though it was another which simply didn’t work out. After college graduation, Dave returned to Lima. Though he hadn’t originally planned to do so, however his mother, Kathy, had fallen ill and his father desperately needed his help. He took a job at McKinley High, and moved in with his parents. After a few years, he bought his own place on the outskirts of town- a peaceful home in the woods, not too close to town but not too far from his mother. Though his mother is still going, she is very ill, and Dave still does what he can to take care of her, and to help his father with anything the pair needs.
