The door swishes open again, and the soft sound of bare feet against tile echoes quietly.

"Heh, I almost feel sorry for her."

The chair is pulled out, the microphone adjusted, and a faint giggle comes through.

"Hey gang, Lady here again! As of the time of this going out, Vee will be away for a little bit. Feferi and Nepeta's present to Jane for her birthday this year was to gift-wrap Ivorry and ship her over there for a few days. Don't worry, she'll live; probably won't be sitting easy for a while though."

Toooooday's fun thing of the day: Lady finally got her hands on an offset printer and is going to recreate some of the trading card games from her homeworld.

Goooootta say, looking forward to it. Theeeee simulators she put together are a lot of fun, but being able to play in paper will be nice.

Weeeee're coming up on a very special anniversary, and also Jane's birthday. Hooooowever, I've been prohibited from taking part in the party planning this year, so I'll be excited to see what all ends up happening.

Iiiii heard there was a big party at Roxy's to celebrate both Valentine's and the end of the horn rot outbreak. Looooots of love to go around, especially after a crisis like that.

So what's everyone been up to since christmas eve? Presumably recovered from any nog-based afflictions?

Thiiiiis one'll be a two-fer.

Sooooo, as anyone who has been following the blog will know, I had a heart attack a little while ago. Iiiiin and of itself not a major issue; my body is what one might call 'a huge fucking mess', so collapsing like that, while not nothing, isn't really enough to be a major concern on its own. Buuuuut, what was was the cause: my addiction to a special stimulant medication and my abuse thereof to handle more projects than I should have been taking on. Iiiii won't go into all the sordid details about the history there, but the ultimate result was being bundled up and shipped off to LOVAC for rehabilitation under their special program for it. Thiiiiis happened shortly after the Yuletide celebrations, and Lady came with me. Weeeee were all too busy to update the blog, and June was meant to do that after we left.

Hooooowever.

Not even a full twenty minutes after seeing us off, an emergency call came of from one of the colonies. Sooooomething dire: horn rot. Aaaaand not just one or two cases, but a full outbreak of a new, highly viral strain. Iiiiit spread fast and hit hard, and started sweeping through all the colonies. Theeeeere was a state of emergency declared, and specialists from LOVAC had to be called in. Iiiiit was bad, really bad; I haven't been allowed to see the reports just yet, but my estimate would probably be a full two percent mortality rate. Whiiiiich is devastating for us.

Eeeeeveryone handled themselves incredibly well during the crisis, and I'm proud of them all. Buuuuut the recovery from it is ongoing, and will be for a while, even though the infection is no longer spreading. Soooo things are going to stay pretty busy.

being the host for the new years party and organizing a secret santa has just been consuming my days but i finally got to sit now that the main events done and over with

Also i think i caused at least one broken up pair to get back together because of the mistletoes i hung up in doorways, surely this won't lead to anything
