(JJBA Mer AU) Mer Prosciutto taking on an intruder. His tail eyes only open to intimidate, often scaring off would be attackers or at least stunning them. Risotto makes the spears and weapons for his pod to use, seen here. Prosciutto is also a formidable opponent on his own, despite being smaller than Risotto. He’s ruthless.

Territory disputes are common in the sea, the King having given his assassins a good area with plenty of fish. His guards already have the castle which is considered more luxurious so his assassins have to deal with intruders on their territory like any other pod. Unfortunately for attackers they often underestimate why they’re assassins, thinking they can take on this pod of strange looking mers.

And for newer people: In my Mer AU only some of the characters are mers, and the humans are supposed to be unaware of their existence according to the King (Diavolo). Fugo found an injured, sickly merman in the netting on a beach, and decided to help him. He brought him back to town to get assistance on a whim. It turned out Narancia, looking for food with food being scarce in the ocean and being very sick with an eye infection, decided to attempt to get food caught in netting floating around and became trapped. He was too weak at that point to get himself out. And now he and his pod have to try to make sure the  King doesn’t find out about this, as this will mean death to them all.

Mer Risotto doodles

Pod leader Risotto with his sharp teeth meant to bite and protect and be intimidating. And his pod worrying him constantly as he tries his best to understand them and protect them but they keep going off and doing dumb shit and getting in trouble-

“…….” Silly comic with the Mer AU. Merlone knows many human things. Even how to work their technology. It’s gonna be hard to catch him off guard. Chickens? Well those aren’t that common. Obviously. That’s why he doesn’t know what that bird is. Yes. He’s heard of the meat.

Ghiaccio can’t believe this dumbass noodle. Melone now knows what that bird is.

A DTIYS for 8.5k+ followers on Instagram. I asked on there what people suggested and people seemed to want the mer AU a lot. And a few of La Squadra. So I went with Risotto’s pod.

And I mean if people want to participate on here that’s fine, although I don’t have that many followers on here.

Rules: - no deadline. Another fun one. - you can draw 2-7 of the characters here (since there’s a lot), either the whole thing or zoomed in focus on two or three - you can change the angle of it, adjust their positions, just keep the same vibe - tag me

Giorno’s reference redraw. His hair is a nightmare.

Giorno is very much on the fae side of things. Loves toying with humans, being polite with ulterior motives, introducing humans to a watery grave. However he’s pod-less, which is something you’re supposed to avoid but he grew up like that after being abandoned. He had random mers feel sorry for him when he was younger, and give him food, but resources were depleted and he was left to provide for himself. Recently he got caught on Leaky Eye Luca’s pod’s territory and caused a bit of a stir with a few neighbouring pods. He moved on though. To make a deal with Narancia and the assassins pod to take care of the King.

A “lone mer” is not like a human living on their own, and lone mers aren’t trusted by others as their alliances and motives are unknown.

Redrew mer Narancia’s reference (link to old one). Original also included thoughts on the rest of the pod, which was originally supposed to be a thing for the others but never got done. But I included Narancia’s with the redraw.

Also Narancia speaks positively about the rest of his pod but he’s pulled a knife at least once on all of them. Yes including Risotto. And he’ll pull it on Fugo too.

Narancia’s able to detect the location of living things around him. Some think it’s sonar but it’s hard to tell when he’s capable of doing it through walls and stuff. He can easily map things out in his head because of his ability. Although he prefers drawing it out but members of his pod have taught him it’s not good to leave trails like that. He however doesn’t have the weapons Aerosmith has in this universe so relies on knives Risotto makes him (and the others).

Illuso. A merman who both loves stealing from humans but also is terrified of them and calls them “disease riddled sacks of meat”. But denies the “terrified” part because he’s a tough guy and is an assassin, see-

His muscles are all show. He’s pretty weak and rather slow in comparison to some in his pod. He makes up for it in his mind games and tricking people. Not the one you want to make a deal with though (and still rather strong by human standards) because he’ll make it so it’s impossible to fulfill your end, and will sabotage any chance of it.

Also has a large cave full of treasure that even Ariel would envy. Although he doesn’t want to be where the people are he’s quite satisfied with where he is thank you.

Redrew Abbacchio and Risotto’s references because I’ve always hated Risotto’s (link to old one). And Abbacchio’s was in the same post plus it included him disguised as Risotto-

Abbacchio. Part of Risotto’s pod but only on papers as they say. He keeps to himself off to the side, even his best isn’t part of the pod’s den. He speaks only to Narancia (and Risotto on the odd occasion). Which is why he went on land when he realized Narancia was there. And might’ve fallen in love with the adult human caring for Narancia. Shit happens. He knows this will make the situation a hundred times worse.

Risotto is the pod leader. The position was first offered to Sorbet but Sorbet didn’t want it. Risotto has a bit more leadership skills and a more intimidating appearance. He tries to act intimidating around his pod to keep them in line but at this point it doesn’t work much. They know he’s a Mama Bear and cares too much about them despite not outwardly showing it- He’d k*ll for them but that’s not saying much. He ended up with the most scars because of that.

I got a tablet pen so I’m drawing on Procreate and I tried drawing Merlone and you guys get two doodles of him and an annoyed Ghiaccio. Merman won’t leave him alone.

Melone annoys the human by singing him a love note. It works.

Risotto is sharpening a blade to protect his pod and Prosciutto came over to tell him something. Maybe that Ris’s titties are looking especially fat today- (Pros is such a romantic 😘).

Our boy eats trash, he's not one to judge first impressions when it comes to food.

Bit of exposition for this mer AU comic. Narancia’s eye doesn’t get fully healed despite him being a bit better. Narancia ends up falling for a deal with Giorno after this to get his eye healed up so that he’s no longer a burden to anyone.

Before Narancia was caught, the pod were attempting to sneak past tight restrictions of going on land by the King in order to get Nara medicine. They don’t want to admit they were giving up hope on Nara pulling through, but at least they were trying their best to get assistance in the ways they knew/could. Melone goes on land the most and found a loophole of going up there thanks to a hit. Unfortunately he didn’t get back in time to deliver the antibiotics he had managed to get, as Narancia had already been caught.

Also thank you to the Italians on Insta for answering a question on how pharmacies worked and if he needed a prescription for antibiotics (legally).

Drew mer RisoPro and to switch it up, I have them sleeping and cuddling. I know. Real game changer from all the others I drew.

I was gonna have Risotto’s head shoved more into Prosciutto’s chest/stomach but it didn’t look right. Anyway.
