Note: if i get reposts or comments saying that asl emojis are useless, I raise you; I am Deaf, it is my language, and I can make emojis of MY language if I want. They are just like wordmojis but for ASL. Unless you are Deaf(big D not little d), you don’t get to tell me what to do with my own language. Thank you for coming to my TED talk. Also, default asf emojis: 🤟🧏🧏♀️🧏♂️

[ID 1: An animated emoji of two pink hands. They are curled up into a fist, besides their pointer fingers and the fingers are an extremely small distance apart. The hands are taking turns making wrist turns so that you either see the palm or outside of the hands. There are red lightning-shaped marks above the hands that are alternating between the big one on the left then right and the small one on the right then left. These marks signify that the ASL for “pain” is being signed. End ID.]
[ID 2: Emoji of two pink hands. They are curled up into a fist, besides their pointer fingers and the fingers are an extremely small distance apart. The left hand’s outside can be seen and the right hand’s palm can be seen. There are purple curved arrows, one pointing upwards on the left hand and one pointing downwards on the right hand. This signifies they are alternating turning in and out. There are red lightning-shaped marks above the hands, a big one on the left and a smaller one on the right. These marks signify that the ASL for “pain” is being signed. End ID.]

Um, would it be possible to do like an ASL mute or just something saying like "im mute" ? Please and thank you :)
Hope I got this correct!
[Image description: three emojis/drawings. The first shows a yellow emoji face smiling slightly and holding a fist up by their chin. A red arrow indicates that the hand is moving, showing the character is making the ASL sign for "mute." The second image is the same drawing with red bubble letters next to it saying "mute" in caps. The third drawing is blue bubble letters in caps saying "I'm mute." End description]

can you do something for hearing impairment cuz I have hearing loss
I couldn’t think of much (besides a hearing aid, but not all people with hearing loss wear them, so) so I did the international sign for hearing loss

Hi Hi! I was wondering if you could make a hearing aid(your color choice) or anything hearing loss/deaf related. If you are unable to, that's alright. Thank you! Have a nice day/night ^^
I hope this looks ok? I need to get a hearing check actually. This was a good reminder, thanks for the ask!!

hearing members of the custom emoji community please stop making ASL or any sign language emojis. idc why. a lot of you don't even know the difference between ASL and other sign languages or think there's only one, you draw them wrong, and also it's just not appropriate for you to be making them!!!
idc if you've taken classes or what, there are Deaf and Hard of Hearing artists who are qualified to make them. support our work instead.
I really want this reblogged <3

i’m curious to know your thoughts on this as a Deaf person. do you think people should be making emojis that are ASL emojis when they are not Deaf or fluent in ASL? it’s kind of always rubbed me the wrong way but i’m hearing and i’m very curious to hear the thoughts of a Deaf person.
they absolutely shouldnt make ASL emojis (or emojis for any other sign language)
I see so many emojis made by hearing people that are just plain incorrect. beyond that, I don't like it even when they are correct because it feels the same as hearing people selling ASL merch (especially since so many emoji creators get paid for it!)
#me when im trying to figure out how to pin this#i mean. im also trying to see if i can find/make stokoe notation (etc) emojis just due to the. everything of it all. yknow?#but yeah im still working on rbing everything (i am half asleep when rbing) and then culling the bs

[ID: Emoji of two yellow hands. The right hand is open, palm up, and the left hand, in a fist with its thumb sticking up, is on top of the palm. To the right of the left hand, there is an orange arrow pointing up to represent that the left hand is moving up. There are two red exclamation points to the left of the left hand’s thumb to signify that the ASL for "help" is being signed. End ID.]
