there's something I really don't like about people using inshallah for comedic effect. what's so funny about it? it literally just means "god willing". why is it funnier if you say it in arabic, a language you cannot speak and have no personal connection to?

#I printed out a bunch of photos of my sister's childhood for her birthday and it IS different when it's not on a screen#it feels... less like a picture and more like a memory#also a little unrelated but it's wild what smartphones did to photos#we have so many more photos of our childhood from the before-smartphone times!#it might just be my family idk but it's never been as easy to take photos and we've never kept fewer photos over the years#somehow we have printed photos that were taken and printed 50 years ago and nothing from 15 years ago#that's genuinely devastating to me
