what’s a sanders sides take/head canon/ opinion/whatever that’s a hill you would die on? Doesn’t have to be a hot take

The hill I will die on is that not a single side is BAD or horrible to Thomas because untimely all they want to do is help him (he's just searching for answers from within after all). People get SO mad at Patton but he's doing his best with what experience and resources he has, and it's the same with all of them.

Humans are ultimately flawed and working on ourselves is one of the HARDEST things we can do because we like to hold ourselves to standards we would not impose on others. We don't like to fail, we don't like to feel weak, we don't like to feel like we've messed up. But we do and I think it's really unfair to take these characters, who are ultimately trying to help Thomas as pieces of who he is, and label them as "TOXIC!!" just because we don't like certain things that happened, or worse, because because we are projecting our own experiences onto these characters because they represent something we have experiences in that we don't like. And these characters have this urgent need to try and make sure Thomas is ok. Look at Janus- he got a LOT of hate but ultimately he's trying to protect Thomas. They ALL are.

This is Character Thomas's story about his inner turmoils and coming to terms with how to navigate adulthood, how to understand himself and his feelings, how to love himself, how to get over rejection, how to navigate his insecurities and fears, and accept that it's ok to want things and that everyone has the capacity for good and bad at times and it's ok to be flawed or have dark thoughts.

Patton, like the others, is trying to do what he can to help Thomas and ultimately even if his views are flawed, it's not because he's evil, it's because Thomas needs to unlearn things that served him in the past. Like learning to dismiss a bad coping mechanism, thanking it for it's service and trying to move forward, views and ideologies change over time as we grow and that's normal. Patton even said that topics of morality are not as clear cut as when Thomas was a kid- some moral dilemmas can't have a solid right or wrong answer. He IS learning, but it takes TIME.

So yeah long rant- my hot take is that people are mean to Patton and they shouldn't be.

Say you have the opportunity to go to a callback for a movie that could be your break. However, on the same day is the wedding of two of your closest friends, which you promised weeks ago you'd attend. Assuming here you can't just tell your friends and work something out, which one do you go to?
