I don't have much to say about this. But the saga of my suffering with Kai Hiwatari's hair continues.

My Pokemon head canon is that if you were holding an Aron and she wanted to go down she would do the little cat thing where they wiggle until they leap out of your arms gracefully except Aron is made mostly out of solid steel and would land with the impact tungsten cube, dent the floor, cause permanent structural damage to the foundation, and then stand up and happily trot along like she didn't do anything

I'm like 20 years late, but I'm coming back to this because truly what on earth. It takes 45 entire levels to raise a Flygon. Where did Drew get the time, energy, dedication, resources, and willpower to raise an entire Flygon for one specific theoretical battle that may or may not have even ended up happening with one specific person? like I get that having a crush will make you do ridiculous things but that's such an insane thing to do and I'll never be over it 😭 he RAISED AN ENTIRE FLYGON to battle MAY SPECIFICALLY at the Grand Festival. Specifically. Which, mind you, means he had full faith that she was going to 1.) make it into the grand festival to begin with, and 2.) beat everyone else in it until meeting him in battle. And to think, like two episodes ago May had told Harley that she and Drew aren't even really friends 💀
This isn't even the second Grand Festival. This is the first one. There's an entire season still after this. There's a whole other Grand Festival after this one. I love whatever the hell all of this is. He's out here doing the absolute most (and given all 45 levels to Flygon, he has presumably been Doing The Most™ for a long time at this point???? how soon after meeting her did he go 'yeah I'll dedicate all my time and energy into this'?)

I cannot get over this one panel where kurogane let go of fai's hand and the expression on fai's face as he does that. a thesis needs to be written to get my point across

the resignation and acceptance and the grief and the relief all at once flashing across. the thought that kurogane has finally let go and he can escape to save himself, leaving fai to deal with this fate; only for kurogane to fucking chop his arm off...

I AM SORRY BUT THEY ARE IT. THIS 2000S YAOI PAIRING IS IT. THEY ARE THE POETRY.

Kurogane being like that's still not grounds for a divorce when it's revealed that Fai was sort of working for the guy who killed his parents? and had been doing so the entire time they knew each other?
