Oh, it seemed like he might have read the situation wrong - Sora’s blue eyes wide open is what seemed like confusion or maybe surprise. Yet, just as he was going to apologize for his rude intervention, Sora beamed again, thanking him for the compliments.
“It’s my pleasure” he replied with one of his usual smiles, own blue eyes narrowing just slightly at the next comment. Nice. That was but a well-constructed lie- He wasn’t nice. He was the opposite of it. He just wanted to make Sora enjoy himself so it’d be easier to go out in future dates -so it’d be easier to have him accidentally reveal things he wouldn’t otherwise. He was a snake -the very worst bastard in the whole world- and sora was blissfully unaware of that fact.
“Heh~ That sounds like a lovely time. As Eden, we don’t have many outings. Though I feel Eve are quite close to each other and are often going shopping or for dinner” he explained himself, wanting to create the mood of mutual sharing and understanding.
“Oh, of course. Harukawa-dono is a member of the videogame research club, right? No wonder you’d know so much about it. This is truly an excellent chance for me to learn about topics I’m not as familiar with!“ he praised him some more, nodding enthusiastically as he did.
“I must admit it, you make it sound like quite the fun time. I might have gotten even more excited to play now~” he cheered in a singsong. He had always liked strategy games, and to deal with something that required to use your skills to be solved sounded like a fun way to pass time “Ah, Harukawa-dono, we’re almost there”
He interrupted his train of thought as their goal came to sight, a more naturally excited tone as he approached it. “I heard there’s more than one escape room in this building. Have you choose which one you’d wish to challenge?” To be completely fair, he had checked the place beforehand thought the internet -as he often did- so he had a good idea of the levels there were, and even a preference for it. But this was a date, and asking for Sora’s opinion would most likely prove to be the best idea.
Sora was a trusting individual, seemingly one of those that saw the good in people rather than the bad. Or perhaps it was because of the strange sort of coddling Tsumugi and Natsume treated him to. No matter what the reason, Sora was not inclined to think the worst of people unless given reason to. And even then he was quick to forgive, wanting people to smile in his presence and genuinely be happy rather than distraught.
His little ability certainly made it a goal he liked achieving, the happier, warmer colours much more pleasant noise than the negatives.
Eve hm? That was... Jun and Hiyori then Sora remembered. The almost colorless senior he had met didn’t seem like the type to go out for shopping and dinner much.
It was... Sora blinked. It was nice getting compliments but this was a lot of compliments he was getting for... not really doing anything? How strange~
“Iba-senpai really compliments Sora a lot, huh? Hihi~ Sora wonders what Sora has done to deserve them?” Pulling his hands out of his pockets, Sora linked them behind his back, swinging them a bit as they walked, humming.
“Sora likes playing lots of different games in the videogame research club, but also with Sora’s friends, so Sora plays a lot of different genres~!”
After all, the more types he explores the more people he could play with who might have different tastes from his own. It had seemed like a reasonable idea for the him who wished to make more friends.
“Does Iba-senpai play video games? Or hm... maybe not? Iba-senpai seems a lot busier than Sora is, so Iba-senpai probably has a lot of work~?”
Hearing that they had almost arrived, there seemed to be even more pep in Sora’s step.
“Mhmm~! There are lots of different ones and they all have different stories and themes too! Sora thinks that’s why they appeal to so many different people!”
As for choosing a room to challenge, he had looked into them and the one that had sounded like the most fun had been one of the more difficult rooms.
“Sora heard that there’s one that’s like a mad scientist’s lab! So Sora was kind of interested in that one, how about Iba-senpai? Did you have time to see which one you liked best?”
Harmless fun

That was certainly easy. In his experience, most people would often try to pry further, so this was another surprise to add to the list. He should have been more prepared for it, he thought now. What could he expect of someone that had confessed to him of all people, but complete oddity?
“While discipline and punctuality are often praised and held in high esteem, they are far from being omnipotent. Sora-dono’s charming personality, easy treat and incredible talent are all far more enviable traits, and you should be proud of it. Even the capacity of relating to people in the same network as yourself and effectively working well in teams is to be praised!” Ibara cheered in his usual tone, unaware of how overly-complicated his wording might be.
“I can’t say I’m an expert in the matter either. But as long as you have fun, I shall take today as a triumph” he smiled, nodding gently in Sora’s direction.
Body language was not hard for him to grasp, however, and he noticed both the glance Sora sent in direction to his own hand and the way in which he tried to stick close. It seemed like he might be worried about being separated, or maybe he was bothered about the crowds?
“Hmn, I usually only go out for business related matters, so I don’t have much idea of where to go” he admitted, moving even closer to Sora -enough their arms might occasionally brush when walking. He wasn’t sure if holding his hand was a wise move so he refrained from it - but if the streets got any busier he might reach out regardless “However, if something comes to mind I shall let you know. For now let’s focus on this Escape Room. I’ve heard good things about it, but I wouldn’t have thought of coming on my own. Are you perhaps knowledgeable in these matters?”
“Oh! Did Sora make it sound like he wasn’t happy?” To be honest, Sora hadn’t really caught everything Ibara was saying. The wording was a bit too much at the pace that Ibara was saying it for Sora, though he was sure he’d learn to keep up eventually. At any rate, it had sounded like Ibara had been... complimenting Sora?
“Hehe~ Sora is okay Iba-senpai! Sora knows that Sora has his own charm points! But Sora thanks you for saying nice things about him, huhu, it makes Sora feel a little shy.”
He beams another smile at Ibara in return.
“Iba-senpai is really nice to Sora~”
And it seemed they had a somewhat similar goal. Well, if Ibara was trying to make sure Sora was having fun, then Sora certainly had to make sure that Ibara had fun as well!
“Sora usually goes out with Switch when Senpai and Shishou have time together~ It’s usually to places to eat though.”
As he was trying to think of where might be fun to take Ibara besides the Escape Room, Sora missed Ibara moving even closer. Until their arms brushed, which prompted another thankful smile from Sora.
“Yes!”
He truly was full of a lot of energy today, wasn’t he?
“Sora hasn’t gone to one in person before, but Sora has played games online that work the same way~” he said, “They’re nice with a small group of people, but if the room is small enough, you can do it with less people too. You just have to find all the clues to solve puzzles and then get an item or code to get out of the room!”
As he spoke excitedly, Sora stayed close to Ibara.
“Sora thought Iba-senpai would like the puzzle aspect, that’s why Sora chose it~”

It was now time for Ibara to be surprised, blue eyes widening and mouth parting as he saw his usual salute being returned to him. It was fairly casual, and quite sloppy if one were to grade it on the standards Ibara had learnt in his childhood, but it was certainly charming and… it wasn’t displeasing. In fact, and though he failed to find the words to properly convey the knot of thoughts enclosed in his mind, one could say his chest felt rather… warm.
“I do. It is but a bad habit left from my childhood, do not pay much attention to it” he replied, a confused smile showing itself on his lips while his tone tried to be reassuring.
It was one surprise after the other, for sure. And seeing Sora’s clear expression, with not an inch of doubt or annoyance felt as confusing as… refreshing.
“I have the tendency to work ahead of time, so there’s no rush for me to finish it at the moment. I shall continue once I return to the dorms in the afternoon - for now, and since we’ve reunited as planned, I, Ibara saegusa, am completely to your disposition for the duration of our date.” once more falling to his habits, Ibara found himself saluting at the younger -and significantly shorter male- before offering him a smile.
“Taking into consideration the level of popularity of the game you are so interested in partaking in, I would say getting there ahead of time is probably a wise move.” he then added, turning so he could walk towards the location of the infamous Escaping Game, yet making sure Sora was following before starting to walk.
Ah there. There was a slight change in colours, a bit more warmth bleeding into the cold, and Sora was practically sparkling at that small, almost negligible, change. It was still something to him, and something was better than nothing!
“If Iba-senpai says so, then Sora won’t~~” It really was as simple as that for the young man, wasn’t it? Perhaps for Ibara it was as casual as running across the wall if someone was blocking the hallway was for Sora. That he could certainly understand. Sora nodded to Ibara’s explanation of his work and giggled once more.
“Sora isn’t very good with working ahead, but he tries! Shishou and Senpai help Sora a lot!” It wasn’t that Sora was a bad student per se, he just had difficulty concentrating sometimes. His mind would wander off and he was quick to distraction. “Iba-senpai is really responsible, neh? Hihi~ That’s good!”
He did frown a little bit as he tried to decipher everything Ibara was saying, the words jumbling a bit in his head as he listened.
“Umu... Sora doesn’t really know what to do on a date if that’s what Iba-senpai means. Sora just wanted to do something fun together with Iba-senpai!”
Though he certainly didn’t protest the idea of arriving to their escape room early, they were popular events and slots filled up quickly. Sora was quick to follow after Ibara, glancing at the elder’s hand briefly before tucking his own hands into his pockets. While it was okay for him to hold onto Tsumugi’s hands and on occasion latch onto Natsume, he didn’t really know what his boundaries were with Ibara.
Plus, he was still okay right now. It was early enough that the crowds still weren’t too bad.
“If Iba-senpai has somewhere he wants to go or or something he wants to do, Sora would like to hear it too!” the blond added, sticking close to his date’s side. The crowds weren’t too bad as he had noted earlier, but that didn’t mean that Sora was completely unaffected by them.

The cheery tone calling out for him was enough to tear blue eyes from the screen of his laptop, quickly scanning the area in the direction of the voice to find the soft golden hair and that smile that rivaled in brightness to that of the sun. Not missing a beat, he closed his computer and put it away on the side bag that he often carried around before standing up to greet the other.

“Aha~ Harukawa-dono. There is no reason for you to apologize! Not at all!” He answered to the smile in kind, eyes closed and right hand moving out of habit to make a salute. It probably wasn’t the most appropriate greeting for a first date between a couple, but he didn’t had much more experience in this field than Sora -and was maybe more awkward about relationships and emotional closeness than the younger boy.
“In fact, you’re rather early for our meeting! As I worried about possibly having you wait for me, I happened to arrive far too early. I do hope my decision of using that extra time for work isn’t displeasing to you? The last thing I’d want is to bother you in any way.”
Blinking at the greeting he was returned, Sora couldn’t hold back his laughter as he mimicked Ibara, though his salute back was certainly much more casual and not nearly as properly executed.
“Haha~ Does Iba-senpai greet everybody like this?” the young man asked curiously. It was different for sure. The colours Sora could see wrapping around Ibara weren’t nearly as muddled or gone as his unit leader’s were, but they still... they didn’t really match up with the tone of voice and the expressions Ibara presented. It really made Sora wonder why.
“Eh?” Sora pointed at himself after Ibara spoke again, expression completely clear of any negative emotions. “Sora doesn’t mind! If Iba-senpai needs some more time to finish then Sora doesn’t mind waiting too! It’s not a bother for Sora~”
What was and was not appropriate for a first date was lost on Sora. If they both came away from the date feeling happy, then that was good enough in Sora’s books. He hadn’t even asked his shishou or senpai for advice. It felt a little bad to be keeping this a secret from them, but he’d come clean about it if they asked him! Probably! Sora was a good kid! Just... perhaps something like this they wouldn’t have really approved of.

Sora had never been on a date before. Not an official date anyway, his outings with Natsume or Tsumugi not really counting. Nor the days he spent with Hinata and on occasion Yuuta. But this - today - was a date.
And so, expectedly, the little ball of energy that he was was rather excited. He’d even had trouble falling asleep the night before! Sora breezed through his morning routine, laughing it off when he accidentally dropped his bowl - unable to keep his hands still with all that extra energy thrumming through him.
He wasn’t late to meet up, but he wasn’t early either as he spotted the older student already waiting for him at their chosen meeting point. Sora had even made sure to leave his own home early to get to the place at a reasonable time, even accounting for his knack of getting lost when he ventured out on his own.
That would be new too, having to spend extended amounts of time in possibly largely populated areas. Sora hoped he would be able to enjoy today properly. His goal as always was to get at least one smile on his new boyfriend’s face.
“Iba-senpaiii~!” Sora greeted happily when he was close enough, a bright smile on his lips. “Sora isn’t late, is he? Sora tried to leave the house earlier, sorry if Sora made you wait!”
Harmless fun
@asparklingmagician
He arrived strategically early, a habit of his that seemed to permeate to all spheres of his life. Without much to do while waiting, he settled down besides the fountain that marked their meeting place and started to type away in his computer, efficiently clearing different tasks for his work.
As centered and business-oriented as always, Ibara was never the type to look for fun or entertainment, the thought of dating completely nonexistent in his mind, besides as a plot for his objectives. Even now, and although he was unable to understand why anyone, and specifically that cheerful boy that seemed to be so loved and cared for, would show any romantic interest in his person, he graciously accepted the proposal as a means of gathering intel from this rival school that was Yumenosaki.
he just couldn’t pass up such a good opportunity, as questionable as it was. Hopefully, he’d manage to find some weaknesses to exploit through this innocent boy and his lack of wariness over the situation.

Truly, seeking out Yuuta to inquire about Hinata’s whereabouts probably would have been the smarter course of action. Sora could have also handed over the chocos he had for Yuuta as well, but the blond had endeavored to find his Hina-chan all on his own... hence the running about.
Giggling as he was pat on the head, a pleased smile stretched across Sora’s features. He butt his head softly against Hinata’s shoulder before pulling away to accept the chocos he was gifted back. If he could see his own colours he was sure he would no doubt be giving off some very warm shades. Instead, he basked in the comfortable colours that Hinata was giving off instead.
“HaHa~ ♪ HiHi~ ♪ HuHu~ ♪ HeHe~ ♪ HoHo~ ♪”
Leaning into Hinata’s space, Sora shyly left a sweet kiss on his cheek.
“Sora’s really happy~! Thank you Hina-chan~!”

It's routine now to share the same bed with Sora. He knows the other well enough to see when he's having a bad day and to be able to change that by merely scooting over and patting the bed beside him is enough to make his room mates day. It's easier still to drape blankets around them and weave a fantasy of them bundled up in their own fortress. A promise of protection, a way to pull Sora close and let him know he's there for him.
Somehow Sora must have done something amazingly good in his rather short life to have gotten such a kindhearted friend and roommate. No matter what mood he was in, Tsumugi always seemed to be able to pick up on it and either put a smile back on his face or make his smile even wider. On occasion even draw out silent laughter from the younger.
Today had been a difficult day. It had started off well enough with a sleepy breakfast shared with Tsumugi before he was off to his morning classes. The classes themselves had gone well, the project Sora was slowly putting together for his final was moving along smoothly.
And then came the snag in his day.
Though they had long since given up on him as a lost cause, his parents still insisted on sending Sora to “therapy”. It was as far from therapy as one could get. He had to spend an hour in a room two or three times a week getting prodded at or yelled at - really anything short of actually getting physically hurt - as the person assigned to work with him tried to get him to react to them. Sometimes it wasn’t so bad, sometimes they tried nicer methods.
But Sora could never react the way they wanted him to, so it usually always ended with them telling him he wasn’t trying and that he was terrible for breaking his parents’ hearts for acting like this.
It always made him miserable.
To come back to the room and find Tsumugi still awake, waiting for him, made some of that miserable feeling go away. When Tsumugi scooted over and patted the space beside him though, Sora wasted no time in throwing himself into that space, bringing himself as close as he could to the other, clinging tightly and pressing his face into the elder’s chest.
As blankets were draped around the both of them, cocooning Sora in warmth, he knew Tsumugi wouldn’t say anything about the tears that wet the front of his shirt. Instead, he weaved a fantasy for Sora where things were different.
And in this space that only the two of them occupied, that was more than enough.

B-day Games
@technologicalsound || continued from [x]
Sora’s overenthusiastic greeting and public displays of affection were only enough to draw a few curious glances from first-timers and a couple fond looks from some of the regulars. Everyone that knew of Sora knew of the young man’s open and caring nature.
The blonde peered over his own shoulder as they were walking and grinned at the other’s words.
“Of course Sora had to wait, ‘cause Sora wanted to play with Kou-chan~”
The first game that he led Kou over to appeared to be a racing game of some kind, after watching the demo video fro a moment, Sora popped a couple of the game tokens he held in and hit the start button for player one and tugged Kou to that spot before taking player two for himself.
He’d been bouncing in his spot behind the counter practically the whole day as the time crawled. He’d been pulling some extra late nights at home and staying after classes instead of going on his usual explorations around the city in order to finish a project he’d been working on. And he wanted to show it to Kou - though only after he’d played a couple of the new games with his friend.

Tilting his head up, fingers automatically moving to tap away from the messages he had been reading, Sora’s expression was bright as he smiled at the elder. “Sora was just reading a message~!”
Putting his phone away, he hopped to his feet and smoothed down his clothes.
“Did ‘jii-chan need Sora for something?”

Messages || Event
@agentlemagician
Plopping himself down onto a bench, Sora pulled his phone out, tapping through his lockscreen and a few alerts. Some emails from work were quickly read through before Sora finally tapped into his messaging app.
Sora is sorry Senpai! Sora did his best but... even Sora couldn’t keep up with the bidding and ended up losing D:
It had honestly surprised Sora just how into bidding some people got and how quickly bids were being shouted. With all the raised emotions of frustration and amusement coupled with all the shouting voices - Sora had started developing a headache from all the noise in both his vision and hearing. Perhaps he would have thought all the colours pretty if he hadn’t been right in the middle of it all also adding his own voice to the cacophony.

A tol and a smol || Event
@friendlyoceangiant
After the auction had ended and Sora had trudged back into the bulk of the event, he had stopped at a couple booths to get some snacks to eat while he wandered. Unfortunately he hadn’t had any luck with winning the bid for ‘jii-chan’s brother that Senpai had asked for him to take part in. He didn’t think Senpai would be upset with him for losing but...
Sora was still sad that he couldn’t make Senpai happy by winning.
He’d been busy with his two jobs on top of classes, and it was probably safe to assume that Tsumugi had been as well. Which was why the two of them hadn’t been spending much time together, Sora usually only being able to say hi and talk for a bit at work with the other.
But Tsumugi’s colours always felt sad whenever they were able to talk.
Aaah, he was at a festival today! No sad thoughts for today at least!
As he was shaking his head as if to physically shake the thoughts from his mind, Sora’s eyes caught sight of a crowd and heard the laughter that was coming from it. The colours around it seemed very cheery and fun. It didn’t take very long for Sora to make his way over.
It was too bad he was just a tad too short. Sora jumped about, craning his neck. Darn...

Everything was so wet. And Sora loved it. Laughter fell from his lips as he ran between pedestrians, his bag and clothes covered in droplets of water. Arguably, he should have been soaked. His pants legs certainly were. But his jacket and bag were all varying levels of waterproof and water-resistant, so he could run about in the rain as he so wished.
Of course, he had packed an umbrella in his bag for if it were still raining later when he was headed home from work. As it were he had a clean set of dry clothes in his bag, so he didn’t mind getting his current clothes wet. Plus, splashing about in puddles with rainboots on was always fun.
Though he made sure he only jumped into puddles that were in sidestreets that no one was walking down at the moment. He didn’t want to get other people wet if they weren’t also splashing about in the rain like he was.
Today he hadn’t had a shift at the arcade, which was why he had time to run about like this before he headed down to South Danon for his shift at The Haughty Vixen.
Sora had stopped under a shop’s awning to wipe some of the water from his face and take a breather when a man headed past him, looking miserable underneath what cover his book bag provided.
It didn’t even take a moment more for Sora to follow after him, calling out.
“Hey mister? Do you need an umbrella?”
@sparklingcolours
Nio was damn well aware that listening to news stations about the weather, trusting them with such a minuscule detail of his life, would be his downfall, the end of a kings reign.
Unfortunately, and he grimaced at the thought from under his now-soaked book bag, this would not be the last time he trusted the weather channel and would pay for it. He had accepted this by now. All he could do was pray it didn’t get worse before he got home.

It wasn’t strange for Sora to abandon his station occasionally throughout the night, his eyes could only take so much of the colours that filled the air, from the emotions of the patrons and his coworkers to the lights that swept through the crowds and sometimes strobed around the room. He had sets pre-programmed for those moments, ones that could run on auto while he took his break.
He tended to head for the mellower area of the club, where patron’s could hear the music and the sounds of the dance floor but it was more muffled. He didn’t really drink alcohol and the bartender had taken to stocking some of the energy drinks Sora liked drinking during his breaks. After getting a glass filled with ice and his energy drink of the night, Sora took a seat at one of the emptier booths, only one other young man seated in the space.
“Hello~” Sora chirped in greeting. It had become sort of customary for the young DJ to greet and chat with patrons during his break. It was just something he thought was fun and he could sometimes get their opinions on recent music and things they’d like to hear being played. It certainly helped him when he had to come up with a new setlist.
@sparklingcolours
Honestly, it was rather pathetic that he’d decided to come to the Haughty Vixen in order to force himself from confinement. But the more he thought about it, the less he seemed to mind while sipping on his drink. Takumi wasn’t exactly keen on drinking often, as it was too much work walking outside his comfortable apartment for some measly reason like that.
On the plus side, he had time to mull over one of his college assignments whilst enjoying the club’s ambiance. If only he hadn’t become too absorbed in his thoughts (and the sweet drink) to actually appreciate the background music.
