Drew like a dark, fucked up version of the Plain Doll haha. Just a glimpse into my dark reality. A full stare into my twisted perspective would make most simply go insane lmao

Thinking about the Fires of Raven ending of Armored Core 6 and how Ayre's growing concept of personhood, being a mind without voice or body for who knows how long finally finding someone that can hear her, talk to her, maybe even understand her. She feels a connection to her planet, considers herself and the humans that call it a home Rubiconians just the same. She helps and guides 621 after they make Contact, offering advice, gently nudging 621 toward thinking not only for themselves but of themself. She knows what they are, a thinking and feeling being that had so much of them stripped away by others, a husk and a spirit now brought close. She does not like senseless violence, nor deception, but she sees the way things are. Fighting is how the world works, how it has worked and may continue to work, but that doesn't make it something to accept as it is. She doesn't like taking Swinburns deal, nor decieving him, nor ignoring it. Over the course of the game she gets to learn and experience more closely the things she was aware of, the people and places of her home, all alongside the first being to hear her, someone she sees hope of a new future in, a future where like the two of them the humans and Coral can coexist and come together. So when 621 is faced with a choice between the people who have helped them, who have put their hopes upon them, fought hard together, she lets them know they are the one to make the choice. Sure, she is limited in ability to do anything, but she considers 621 a friend, and will not impose her will on theirs after they have come so far. She too has a choice, to allow everything she loves be destroyed by her closest friend, or to strike them down however she can. if she could she'd not have anyone die, even Overseer who will burn her entire species and the planet itself away out of fear. Even in the final fight, she tries to offer a chance to her dear friend, knowing their resolve will not allow either of them to hesitate. Kill or be killed, fight or burn. She uses what she can, unseen and unheard save for the one person now carrying her kind's doom into fruition. Even then, even as she is struck down by the only person who got to know her, betrayed deeper than many could know, she understands, she believes, she has faith in a world that could have been, in one of peace with the violent and scared, cruel and greedy humanity. All of that about to be snuffed out in a roaring inferno. The part that hurts the most is... she might even forgive you.

My favorite kind of "media literacy" post is when people call, like, speculating on why there are no humans in Cars or saying Kingdom Hearts or Homestuck is complicated "media illiterate"
No, friend, those are jokes. Remember those? From when people were able to have fun with popular media instead of treating it as a game where you call everyone who doesn't treat your preferred cartoon with deathly seriousness an illiterate moron? Remember that

I don't do Warhammer, but as a Gundam fan, I feel a strong sense of solidarity with another model-heavy fandom that attracts incel losers who only care about the military aesthetics

One of my favorite things about UC Gundam is that it is genuinely extremely weird.
Like, mecha as a genre is already a hard sell to people who aren't already into it or things like it. Gundam as a franchise is even more of a hard sell because it has a 45 year reputation of being a series for model building grognards. And as the final nail in the coffin, the original show being from 1979 has killed any desire to watch it in many, many people that I have recommended it to.
But if you actually get past all the hurdles and watch it, you have a show about a guy in a stupid helmet who is heavily implied to be fucking his twink boyfriend (who he kills), who then promptly develops a homoerotic rivalry with another guy before changing his name to Four Vaginas in the sequel. And he's not even the main character.
True believers will tell you it's peak fiction. And that's me. I'm a true believer.
