wanda didn’t know if she’d ever get used to being in the spotlight like this. though she wasn’t sure what kind of life she imagined for herself, it wasn’t one like this. there was a lot of scrutiny, and while it wasn’t new to her, it still caused her a bit of stress. “how long have you been doing this hero thing?” @asscmble​ 

"  𝐑𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓, that hero thang, ” anna’s nose scrunched as she pondered the response, thinking back to well, everything. “  ah can’t say it’s that simple, wanda.  ” the brunette with the white streak glanced to her left and then her right before the mutant gestured for wanda to follow her to an empty seat on the park bench, away from the crowds. “  sugah,  ” she sighed. truthfully anna hadn’t always thought well off wanda, but then again, people haven’t always thought all that well of her either. “  awhile, but it still ain’t any easier than it was when ah started, but . . . the people, the ones we call family, they ain’t half bad.  ” because anna knew as well as anyone she wouldn’t have been able to do it on her own.

“  𝐀𝐇 𝐃𝐎𝐍'𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐊 ah’d be caught dead in somethin’ like this,  ” anna reached out to emma, her gloved hand brushed across the fabric as if she could feel it. “  but on you . . . it’s nice.  ” even if that southern drawl of hers raised an octave. “  so, are you goin’ out to sign a few books, ah’ve seen a few of them with logan on the cover but nothin’ with you or me yet ?  ”

❛   you’d   be   lost   without   me,   you   know   that   ?   ❜   natasha   raises   a   teasing   eyebrow   at   him   as   she   pulls   him   away   from   the   crowds,   pressing   a   spare   pair   of   sunglasses   into   his   hands.   ❛   if   that’s   your   idea   of   a   disguise,   i   REALLY   don’t   know   how   you   survived   on   the   run   for   more   than   a   week.   ❜

𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐕𝐄’𝐒 𝐅𝐎𝐎𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐅𝐎𝐋𝐋𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐃 in the direction he had been pulled, away from the crowd, and directed his gaze down at the sunglasses natasha placed in his grasp. “  believe it or not i was asking myself the same question with those shoes last time,  ” the blond slipped on the glasses to complete the disguise, “  and i was doing just fine, until stark made a scene.  ” so , nothing new. he huffed, breathing out his nose with only a glance back at iron man lost in his own adoring fanbase. “  but thank you natasha, guess i owe you one.  ” again. “  ice cream knock out a few of those ?  ”

𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐓  :  ‘  made  a  promise  ’               𝐅𝐎𝐑  : @nottivagos​ ( 𝚊𝚔𝚊 𝚓𝚎𝚜𝚜𝚒𝚌𝚊 ) 

“  𝐃𝐈𝐃𝐍’𝐓 𝐆𝐄𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐌𝐄𝐌𝐎 ?  ” steve spoke up as he stood there, now next to jessica, in the stars and stripes uniform. “  or did stark just not talk you into it ?  ” enough said on how steve rogers ended up at tony stark’s booth for the day and had just now taken break from long line-up of people who wanted a comic signed or a photo taken. he was the 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑 𝐒𝐏𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐋𝐄𝐃 𝐌𝐀𝐍 with a plan all over again, only thing time there hadn’t been a song and dance, but it was still early.

𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐓  :  ‘  against  better  judgment  ’         𝐅𝐎𝐑  : @ofcomplexities​ ( 𝚊𝚔𝚊 𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚛𝚔 ) 

𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐕𝐄 𝐇𝐀𝐃 𝐊𝐄𝐏𝐓 𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐄, albeit without the attire that garnered attention that could rival the iron man suit, but still, he came. tucked away amongst the crowds with the brim of his navy baseball cap pulled down just above his eyes, steve maneuvered through the group cheering for ‘ 𝐈𝐑𝐎𝐍 𝐌𝐀𝐍 ! ’ in unison. high pitched acknowledgments of awe, children dressed up as their favorite hero and the pushy fans with outstretched hands just attempting to reach tony were some of the contenders steve had to face as he passed a girl willing thor’s arrival into existence as she shouted for the blond god. at least she has good taste. 

but it might have been his own manners that becames steve’s downfall that afternoon in the crowd. stood in the back, he watched tony go on with a self-serving speech, that type that miraculously could further inflate the playboys own ego; who knew that was even possible. a high pitched giggle had pulled steve’s gaze away from the stage and towards the ground as a group of three children ran past him, all dressed in oversized costumes of iron man, captain america and spiderman. it should be noted the child dressed as cap held onto a plastic toy replica of 𝐌𝐉𝐎𝐋𝐍𝐈𝐑, someone was ahead of their time. 

but as the blond super soldier stepped back to accommodate for the path of miniature heroes he had stood in, steve stepped back on a woman’s foot. a quick turn and hand to her shoulder to keep her from stumbling back accompanied by the words, “  i’m sorry, ma’am,  ”  weren’t all too common. though bets could be made the dead giveaway was the way she was starring at steve. “  ma’am ?  “

𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐓  :  ‘  comics  and  spandex  ’                  𝐅𝐎𝐑  :  @remiind​  (  𝚊𝚔𝚊 𝚓𝚎𝚖𝚖𝚊  ) 

𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐀 𝐆𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐃 𝐓𝐎 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐆𝐈𝐑𝐋 on her left as she gingerly sipped on some brightly colored beverage that tasted like berries and was too sweet on the tongue to be anything but a days worth of sugar. “  you got everythin’ you wanted signed ?  ” anna inquired with a tap of her drink against what she assumed was a comic book in the other’s grasp. “  ah heard the avengers, you know sugah,  iron man and all them are gatherin’ ‘round later if ya missed one of ‘em.  ”

𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐓  :  ‘  drawing  abilities  ’                  𝐅𝐎𝐑  :  @nottivagos​  (  𝚊𝚔𝚊 𝚓𝚞𝚋𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚎  )

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐋 𝐅𝐄𝐋𝐓 different in her grasp as the strokes of lead against the stark white page began to produce an image,  one that had her nose scrunch in disapproval the moment she realized what she had drawn, 𝐖𝐎𝐋𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐄. why’d the one person she had skin-to-skin contact with have to be a massive wolverine fan ? a skilled comic book artist, now that was interesting and for the duration of time rogue had with the ability she had intended to milk it. 

“  if i draw one more picture of logan ah’m lose my — hey, sugah.  ” anna quickly placed the paper and pencil down on her lap once she had caught sight of the familiar face, 𝐉𝐔𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐄𝐄. “  you look as pretty as a picture, but what are you doin’ over here ?  ” anna gave a nod in the direction of the crowd. “  all the fun is over that way.  ”

𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐓  :  ‘  second  best  will  do  ’            𝐅𝐎𝐑  :  @ofcomplexities​  ( 𝚊𝚔𝚊 𝚜𝚌𝚘𝚝𝚝 𝚜. )

𝐃𝐄𝐒𝐏𝐈𝐓𝐄 𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐀’𝐒 𝐎𝐖𝐍 𝐄𝐅𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐒, or lack of, to educate the public on mutants, the sight of scott and jean in uniform with a group huddled around to lend an ear did leave her with some faith that things would turn around, maybe. but she wasn’t going to hold her breath. still, she smiled at the sight and kept her arms crossed close to her chest. it was always the safer choice to keep her distance, especially given her own abilities had once agin gone erratic. uncontrollable and 𝐔𝐍𝐓𝐎𝐔𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐁𝐋𝐄.  

now, her intention had been to go steal jean away for a few moments but when the small child with red hair ran up to her with the kid’s mother following in a rush, it was a moment anna couldn’t interrupt. so scott it was. “  those new ?  ” anna questioned with a vague gesture of a gloved hand to his combat visor. “  and you haven’t seen logan around, have you ?  ” guess that comic fan she bumped into earlier was still alive and well and a statement she quickly shook her head at. “  never mind that last part,” she waved a gloved hand to dismiss it entirely.

𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐓  :  ‘  now  ah’m  stealin’  memories  ’             𝐅𝐎𝐑  :  @turn-of-the-cards​​​

𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐀’𝐒 𝐄𝐘𝐄𝐒 𝐃𝐑𝐈𝐅𝐓𝐄𝐃 down to the ground where a card, the queen of hearts, had fallen or was placed, the latter always was the more likely of scenarios. the corners of her lips began to curve up into a smile, but the action had been overpowered by the roll of her gaze that followed the moment she heard the squeak of a floorboard from a short distance away. “  now ah don’t think you’re gettin’ lazy and leavin’ these around,  ” anna called out and reached for the card which she now kept in one grasp with her other hand placed on her hip. “  but whatever game you’re playin’ remy, it’s gonna have to wait. ah promised jean ah’d stop by to see her and ah’m not gonna be late . . . ‘sides if you wan’t another —  ” she paused and her brow creased. “  another . . .  ” anna’s words fell short once again with the same expression that mirrored distress failing to fade. 

‘  decision made... i'm taking the damn name, ’ she thought. but that wasn’t her memory, and for the third time within her two weeks of arriving, rogue was hit with yet another flash of someone else's past, something that wasn’t hers but felt as real as the card her grip tightened around. “  so you comin’ ? can’t keep jean waitin’.  ”

                            𝘾𝙊𝙈𝙄𝘾 𝘽𝙊𝙊𝙆 𝙁𝙀𝙎𝙏𝙄𝙑𝘼𝙇 !!!

𝐋𝐎𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 : 𝚗𝚎𝚠 𝚢𝚘𝚛𝚔 𝚌𝚒𝚝𝚢 , 𝚗𝚎𝚠 𝚢𝚘𝚛𝚔 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐒 : 𝚌𝚘𝚗𝚏𝚞𝚜𝚎𝚍

anna  marie  has  been  dealing  with  a  flood  of  memories  from  those  ‘ ghosts ’  who  still  remain  with  her  from  absorbing  their  powers  /  memories  etc  . ,  even  after  all  these  years  ,  but  that’s  the  problem  ,  it’s  2012  ,  𝐀𝐆𝐀𝐈𝐍 !

𝟷𝟹. 𝟶𝟻. 𝟷𝟸 . . . 𝟷𝟷:𝟶𝟶

anna had an event of her own , her jacket sleeve didn’t quite reach her wrist and her skin was exposed as she reached for an apple in the supermarket . . . the exact same time someone else did & with her power control going back to 2012 that meant she couldn’t help what happened next. so for the rest of the day she suddenly had a need to draw. yup , one of the comic book artists featured at the festival , who also happened to be a massive 𝐖𝐎𝐋𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐄 fan , not so much fun .

𝟷𝟺. 𝟶𝟻. 𝟷𝟸 . . .  𝟷𝟼:𝟶𝟶

anna decided to brave the crowds & visit hope and jean , but stuck to the outskirts with extra precautions that meant wearing a turtleneck & it got hot quickly so she bowed out & might have run into wolverine , the fan boy still was in there somewhere from yesterday , and that was embarrassing.

𝟷𝟻. 𝟶𝟻. 𝟷𝟸 . . .  

dressed in her favorite brown leather jacket & emerald green gloves , with a more striking resemblance to her superhero counterpart , anna marie spent the day with everyones favorite 𝐂𝐀𝐉𝐔𝐍 . . . but if he tries to get another cat . . .

a free day ! open to whatever you need her for !

                             𝘾𝙊𝙈𝙄𝘾 𝘽𝙊𝙊𝙆 𝙁𝙀𝙎𝙏𝙄𝙑𝘼𝙇 !!! 

𝐋𝐎𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 : 𝚗𝚎𝚠 𝚢𝚘𝚛𝚔 𝚌𝚒𝚝𝚢 , 𝚗𝚎𝚠 𝚢𝚘𝚛𝚔 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐒 : 𝚝𝚋𝚍 . . .

it  started  with  a  maybe  ,  and  that  was  were  steve  went  wrong .  he  told  stark  he  ‘  might  ’  show  up  ,  and  he  did  . . .  in  disguise .  the  famous  steve  rogers  disguise  that  consisted  of  a  baseball  cap  &  sunglasses .  how  anyone  didn’t  notice  him  before  the  world  may  never know . 

𝟷𝟹. 𝟶𝟻. 𝟷𝟸 . . .

rogers stayed in , he was being a domestic . 

𝟷𝟺. 𝟶𝟻. 𝟷𝟸 . . .  𝟷𝟻:𝟶𝟶

steve arrived in sunglasses , a baseball cap , navy jacket , white t-shirt and jeans with the intent to blend in as much as possible . . . too bada tony didn’t get the memo. at the avengers ‘ stage ’ to be humble about it, tony pointed out steve in the crowd, so 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐊𝐒 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐊 . 

luckily , natasha was hanging out in a much better disguise & helped steve to get out of there after awhile . 

𝟷𝟻. 𝟶𝟻. 𝟷𝟸 . . .  𝟷𝟶:𝟶𝟶

this time , cap was more prepared & came to the comic book festival dressed in 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐒 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐏𝐄𝐒 , which he had a few quips about given how his suit progressed over the years and this one, well this was definitely eye-catching . he stuck around for a few hours to thank everyone , say hello to the kids and sign a few comics , phone cases and arms ? 

𝟷𝟼. 𝟶𝟻. 𝟷𝟸 . . .

steve took the day off , a.k.a . . . open to whoever for whatever reason . . . & everything subject to change in terms of days / time with when stark’s actual avengers booth / stage was going to be (  i made assumptions on days  )

𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐓  :  ‘  against  better  judgment  ’                  𝐅𝐎𝐑  : @marvelfms​​ ​

𝐊𝐄𝐄𝐏 𝐀 𝐋𝐎𝐖 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐅𝐈𝐋𝐄. easier said than done, what with the posters and in some cases walking merchandise promotions ( such as the boy dressed with every sort avengers memorabilia possible ) that passed by. but in honestly, it was only one of the concerns on a long list of worries that plagued the super soldier. at the top, 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐎𝐒. the weight of the world was on their soldiers and 2012 wasn’t nearly as optimistic as he remembered despite the laughter from a group of three he passed. 

steve sighed, pulled down the bill of his navy baseball cap and shoved his hands into the pockets of his dark blue bomber jacket. keep a low profile. but it was at that moment he had glanced up, the soldier’s blue gaze followed the words across a flyer, ‘ 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐈𝐂 𝐁𝐎𝐎𝐊 𝐅𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐀𝐋 ! ’ printed on a background of a comic book, his comic book. right, that promise to tony, keeping appearances, keeping things the same, keeping things . . . “  hey sa—  ” 

the blond’s brow creased from behind the bill of his cap and against better judgement, kept his focus on the familiar face he wasn’t supposed to know, not yet. but he did despite the sudden glance to the ground or turn of his shoulder to lessen the obvious acknowledgement. 𝐒𝐀𝐌 𝐖𝐈𝐋𝐒𝐎𝐍 wasn’t a name anyone would soon forget.

𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐚

       WITH  THE  AMOUNT  of  super  heroes  around,  tara  had  decided  that  laying  as  low  as  possible  was  best.  in  a  hoodie  and  jeans  she  felt  like  she  easily  blended  in  with  the  crowd  and  was  able  to  wander  around  to  her  heart’s  content  without  the  worry  of  anyone  knowing  who  she  was.  “  are  you  in  line  for  the  funnel  cakes  ?  ”  she  asked,  a  corn  dog  and  mustard  in  the  other.

“  FUNNEL CAKE ?  ” the words slipped past her lips with that missippi accent dripping from each syllable like honey from a spoon. “  that better be what ah’m standin’ in line for.  ” anna craned her neck to peer past the balding man in front of her, the mother with two toddlers in front of him. and in fact, no, not the funnel cake, but for a signing. a COMIC BOOK signing. “  well ain’t that just peachy,  ” she rolled her eyes and adjusted her left glove, a bright emerald that held a stark contrast to her otherwise subdued color pallet. maybe she really was out of it, standing around just because a bunch of others were ? 

‘ this ain’t like me, off my game like a swamp bug to a bright light, ’ she thought. 

“  if ah wanted to stand in line for a bunch a men in tights . . . well, i know a few too many with egos to match.  ” she turned her attention from the blonde to the man in front of her who had just peered back at the girls. “  comes with the tights i think,  ” anna leaned in for a moment to tell the taller stranger before she gestured for him to turn back around. “  so, you lookin’ for those funnel cakes, sugah ? 'cuz ah sure am now.  ” and some answers, but wandering around asking the wrong questions to the wrong people wasn’t exactly a game plan. 

“  what do ya say we team up ? sniff out those goodies together ?  ”

( this would be for any character who was post the infinity stones be collected ? idk , time-travel, but he got stuck with the rest of the avengers when collecting them, but i have words. ) 

marvel,  ya  done  messed  with  his  character  and  gave  him  an  ending  that  wasn’t  steve  rogers  at  all.  so,  what  happened  ?  at  the  end  when  steve  needed  to  go  back  and  return  all  the  infinity  stones  he  gave  sam  his  shield  to  keep  an  eye  on  it.  why ?  because  right  before  cap  went  through  the  time  machine  he  noticed  something,  a  glitch.  something  was  off  but  someone  had  to  do  it  before  it  was  too  late.  so  this  is  where  the  comics  come  in,  after  returning  the  infinity  stones  steve  got  stuck  in  time.

last memory before ending up in nyc, 2012 : traveling back in time to 2012 to retrieve the infinity stones

how are you feeling? physically and mentally.

❝  fine, physically. i think we are all a little roughed up mentally. this is new for everyone, and it won’t come without reliving experiences we might want to forget. how are the others ? have you seen them ? have you seen bucky ?  ❞

where are you living? the same place you lived in 2012, or displaced to a random apartment? explain to the best of your ability.

❝  that’d be correct, the same s.h.i.e.l.d issued apartment in new york, and everything looks exactly like i remember it.  ❞

what do YOU think we should do about the situation at hand? Try to go back home? The original mission of stopping Thanos? Rewrite the entire story?

❝  we need to stop thanos. all those people who lost their lives, who made sacrifices, it’ll all be done in vain if we don’t stop him before it’s too late. home can wait, it will have to and that’ll be the next mission, get the stones, stop thanos, get back home and save who we can.  ❞

what will you DO about the situation at hand?

❝  whatever it takes to make this right. sacrifices need to be made and i’ll make whatever necessary to achieve our goal. i’ll save who i can, when i can. people are counting on us . . . on me, i can’t let them down, i won’t.  ❞

is there anything that you think needs to be done?

❝  yes, we need to keep a low profile and make sure we don’t do anything to upset . . . time. it won’t be easy and we won’t walk away from this unscathed. the scientists, they need to study this, figure out what is going on. we’ll round up as much help as we can, secure the stones, keep potential threats at bay and keep away from personal vendettas that would upset anything in the future, and that won’t be easy, for any of us. some things we’ll need to sit out, others, we can use to our advantage. we have a good team, i know we can do this.  ❞

if need be, would you be willing to team up with the government and SHEILD to recoup and help the situation at hand?

❝  as of the year of 2012 i was. and for the sake of their knowledge, i am, but the government, s.h.i.e.l.d., you know the truth. we can use this to our advantage and stop what we can, but trust isn’t a luxury they’ll ever be afforded. they aren’t what they were made for, and we’ll expose that.  ❞

what are your worries?

❝  that this might be too much, too many situations we can save but we won’t because of what it could mean and do to the future. we can’t afford to be selfish.  ❞

what do you think are the pros about this situation?

❝  we might get to right the wrongs we did and save a whole lot of people doing it. we owe them that. ❞
