Fingon considered the question as he continued to observe the first rays of light emerging over the horizon.  “I don’t know,” he decided.  Truthfully, there was likely no way of knowing. Did Arien see what occurred below? Did she report back to the Valar in the West? Or perhaps she simply went about her work and focused more on eluding Tilion.   Fingon smiled, suddenly recalling how the camps at Lake Mithrim had appeared so small from atop Thorondor’s back. “If she does, we probably look awfully tiny. Perhaps she finds that entertaining.”

"Why do we even have to see the sunrise, it's so cold," Argon complained through chattering teeth.

"You do not wish to greet the sun, the bringer of both light and warmth?" Fingon asked. His tone was teasing but his smile was gentle, and it was clear that he, too, was shivering. Had he been taller and Argon less tall, he might have draped his own cloak over them both, but instead he settled for wrapping an arm around his brother as he watched the brightening eastern sky. "For the kindness she does us by her very presence, the least we can do is wake early and brave the chill to bid her good morning." @descendantsoffinwe

Ambarussa were very excited. Now that Telvo had grasped walking they could go and visit people with their big brothers. Today he was taking them to see Finno, affectionately called Fee'o by the pair who even brought gifts to be nice. Telvo's was a small clutch of daisies he picked himself and Pitya had a box he refused to say what was inside. It was a 'urprise for Fee'o. Though when it was opened a small tree frog lept right at Finno.

"Look at you, Telvo!" Findekano said with a radiant smile, kneeling down to accept the flowers and the box from the Ambarussa. "Walking already, my goodness! Your brothers will be hard-pressed to keep up with the two of you now." When he opened the box from Pitya, releasing the frog, he jumped back and nearly fell over, and then began to laugh. "A surprise indeed, Pitya!"

He smiled and laughed a bit before nodding, “Yes, together... oh I...” he paused and went pale looking in his robe to sigh at his on idiocy, “I brought you a flower... I was told to, but I think I crushed it a bit,” He still took out the rose which was a bit bent and offer it, covering his own face with a palm when one of the red petals fell to the ground.

“It is fortunate you liked me too, if I had to seduce you I would never stand a chance,” he chuckled softly.

Findekano’s face lit up with a radiant smile, despite the flower’s bedraggled appearance. “I shall treasure it forever,” he said, tucking its stem beneath one of his hair ribbons to display the flower just above his left ear. “Perhaps Ore can suggest an outfit for this evening to complement it.”  Once the flower was squared away, he took Nelyo’s hand in his. “And who says you wouldn’t stand a chance? I think you would be surprised at how charming you actually are.”

Findekano laughed again, any nervousness he’d previously felt evaporating. He hated to think that Nelyo had been so anxious, but he had to admit it was reassuring that Nelyo had had the exact same fear he did.

“Yes we are,” Findekano said. “But at least there is no reason to be afraid anymore. We can just relax and enjoy the festival. Together.”

He closed his eyes for a moment, wanting to hold on to this feeling of joy as long as he could.

“You were afraid!” Findekano exclaimed in wonder, almost too surprised to laugh. Nelyo, frightened? Nelyo, who could out-logic anyone in Finwe’s court or spot and scold a misbehaving brother or cousin at a thousand paces? “I spent an awful lot of time wondering if you would think me foolish for asking you! Or that if I did ask, time would stop and you’d just stare at me like this.” Findekano made his best impression of Nelyo looking utterly scandalized, then laughed and pulled him into a hug, letting out a sigh. “I’m so relieved!”

Findekano felt as if all the moths in the Gardens of Lorien had suddenly taken up residence in his stomach, but he didn’t think he could stop smiling for all the world. He’d had many daydreams in which Nelyo asked him to attend one of Tirion’s many festivals, concerts, or art galas, but this was real. Or at least it felt like it was. Findekano would be very cross with Irmo if this was some kind of dream. 

“Of course it will be grand,” he said, giving Nelyo’s hands a squeeze. “We’ll be there together.”

Nelyo looked amused and remained where he was slumped on Finno, “That is a problem, isn’t it?” He let himself relax more to grow a bit heavier before pulling back to his own feet and releasing the Nolofinwion from himself, “There, I have come to your rescue and freed you from such a prison,” He gave a sweeping bow to the younger prince and glanced up at him with a grin.

“And since we might both look a fool if we were to go alone, what if we were to attend together?” he suggested as if it were a brilliant plan.

Findekano couldn’t help but laugh. As much as he tried to keep a serious expression on his face, the courtly bow was just a bit too much. That, and the thought of attending a festival with Nelyo, instead of just attending a festival Nelyo also happened to be at, was almost too good to be true. He thought that if he took a step right now, he just might float. “My hero,” he said, once he’d regained his composure. He shot Nelyo a sidelong look, trying to seem conspiratorial. “You know, I think your plan just might be crazy enough to work.”

“Oh! That is a dreadful predicament,” Findekano said with a nod in understanding, and then a grin.  Could it be that Nelyo was asking him to go to the festival? Leave it to Nelyo the politician to ask without actually asking.  “You know, I was thinking about going to the festival, myself, but...” Findekano gave a dramatic sigh of his own. “There’s this red-haired elf who’s keeping me from moving.” He tried taking a step for emphasis, pretending to be even more weighed down by Nelyo’s leaning on him than he actually was.

“That is still a lot of choices. I don’t want to be too bold, but I also want to give him flowers that make me think of him. Carnations, maybe? Or roses and carnations?” He twisted one of his braids around a finger in thought.

And then came the question he had a feeling Ore would ask. “Well…I was planning on asking him to go to the opera with me, as a real date this time,” he confessed.

What would really amaze Findekano would be if Taura realized his own charms - of all their siblings, surely he was the least likely to boast.  A blush darkened Findekano’s cheeks at the mention of Nelyo. “Not yet,” he said. “I’ve been trying to decide what kind of flowers to send, but there are just so many kinds of lovely flowers that I think he would like.”

“I picked out a tunic of mine that I don’t use much, the navy one with laurelin stitched onto the front in gold thread, the black boots with gold stitching and patterns, and some black leather trousers, to assist our dear but very clueless brother to… go to the next stage of their relationship, if you catch my gist?” Ore informed their big brother, a slightly bashful smile appearing on their face and their tan cheeks turned rosy at the mention of more intimate activities.

“Our poor cousin will not be able to look away from our sweet little Taura,” Orecano gushed, sighing happily at the romance of it all. Perhaps they were reading far too much into their brother’s relationship but Taurakano deserved to be happy and Moryo would be a good match for him.

Findekano nodded slowly, assembling the outfit in his mind. “Oh, yes, I think that would suit him well. Dark blue really brings out his eyes.” He couldn’t help but smile at how excited Ore was - they truly were a romantic at heart. “I’m sure Moryo will be thoroughly impressed.”

Going into the woods alone didn’t necessarily mean anything of a romantic nature would take place, but Ore seemed fairly convinced. Did they know something about Taura and Moryo that Findekano did not? Knowing Taura and Moryo, neither would likely think of it as a date until it became one.

Findekano smiled all the same. He supposed it was up to his brother and Moryo to decide whether their outing was a date or not. Either way, he hoped they had a wonderful afternoon together. “What did you choose for him to wear?” Findekano asked.

“If you feel such distaste for me, why did you kiss me?” Findekano asked.

It was clear Pitya felt some measure of shame - that both brought Findekano a sense of relief and made his thoughts spin with confusion. It was an unpleasant combination that made him feel slightly dizzy.

“Did one of your brothers put you up to this?” he pressed, but what he meant was ‘did Tyelkormo put you up to this?’

Pitya stormed up to the eldest Nolofinwean, a look somewhere between rage and embarrassment on his face, "I have had enough of looking at you and your eyes and your hair and everything," He said before crashing his lips into Findekano's.

Findekano staggered backwards, a blush worthy of Maitimo himself instantly warming his face.

“Pitya?!” he spluttered. “W-would you care to explain to me what all this is about?”
