Astarte sighed with content, nodding in agreement.

"My darling princess deserves to be happy. When they are together I can tell that she really shines." She giggled in bemusement, "Mind me asking why you two care if my princess is with her partner? Her love life doesn't affect either of your users." She gave a knowing wink, "I have a feeling someone just enjoys the gossip.~" she teased.

“Astrate.” The Persona gave a defeated sigh. “You are aware who you’re working for, aren’t you?” They stood their ground, their crimson eyes staring at hers.

Her golden hues narrowed back at the other. For being a faceless adversary, they sure seemed to talk a big game, “I owe none an explanation of whom I ally with. What does it matter to you?”

“Hey! I’m not suited for battle, Lady, cut me some slack here”

Loki raised his hands in defensive position and backed up a bit. He then summoned his blazing sword instead and climbed on top of the handle. This way it was easier to notice the changes in Astarte’s mood through the air.

“I could ask the same of you. It was mostly reminiscence that brought me here. You know, it shouldn’t have ended like this back there, both me and my master regret what we did in the past. So all I do now simply follow his hidden will to change everything for the greater good.”

“Ah yes..I remember. It is a shame things ended as they did. I doubt I need to say this but..if your ward didn’t hold his pride too close to his chest, that mess could have easily been avoided.”

A sigh left her lips as she tilted her head at Loki.

“I would have preferred to not punish the child but he was too far gone in his own need for revenge that reason was beyond his reach. I wish there was a way that we could have reached out to him sooner; embrace him with love instead of hate. There is a time and place for war..and his timing was terrible. He was fighting a losing battle alone and well..you know the result.”

“I don’t know if I should be annoyed or impressed with the idea that people think I have control over Haru’s actions. I do not have any sway in what she does, unlike a certain Trickster God I know..”

“You’ve come so far these past years. I’m so proud of you and all you’ve accompished.”

“Yep, and in worst-case scenario, humans would just lead themselves in self-destruction, along with everything among them.” The spirit crossed his arms. “But fortunately most of them don’t have that kind of mindset, even some wanting to fight for the good.”

It was then that Astarte’s golden hues narrowed at his words, “War is war. It doesn’t matter whether there are good intentions or not. There are many who believe that their cause is just and are willing to kill, make others who do not believe in their cause suffer. Don’t tell me you are too naive to not even know, let alone understand that?”

So if you are here, mainly assisting Haru in the Metaverse, where is Milady then?

A soft chuckle could be heard from the goddess as she crossed her arms, “You must not know much about how a Persona works then, darling. Technically, Milady is still here. She is within Haru’s heart. When she grew a strong bond with her Trickster, Milady transformed into me. Her form may no longer be present but her voice can still be heard from Haru’s heart. She is a part of our dear beloved princess, after all.”

"Do you do much when you are not needed by your user, Lady Astarte?"

“Not really, no. But that is more than fine with me. When I am not beside my Princess in the heat of battle, I act as a voice of caution and wisdom for her. She has much yet to learn but she has come a long way since she first started out.”

Astarte had a confident tone as she smirked to the other, “ She may have a soft heart, but she has learned well the methods of war when it is necessary. I am quite proud of her.”

Astarte rose a skeptical golden brow. Considering whom she was speaking with, she took everything he said with a grain of salt.

“Is that so? I find that rather hard to believe. He seemed quite intent on murdering everyone for the sake of his revenge. He was too deep in madness to see clearly, or at least that is what it seemed.”

Her lips twisted in thought, “My Princess..was quite upset about what happened. Her heart is too pure to discard him. Despite all the bad he has done and the threats, she wanted to reach out and help him. It made her heart ache that he did not accept her console. “

A small smile graced her golden lips. It was always wonderful to hear the positive progress that occured within the lives of those whom her princess called friends. They all struggled in one form or another and to hear that they were well warmed her heart. Upon inquiry of her own ward, Astarte dared not to hide the pride in her tone.

"She has been doing well. Despite a great loss to her heart, she has become stronger. Her resolve never wavers, even when the road ahead is cloaked in fog. I am proud to say that she has come a long way from that little girl who was merely complacent to the will of her father."

“What a lovely surprise to see you around. How are things with your Oracle Necrocom? I hear she has been slowly coming out of that shell of hers, which is lovely to see.”

The Goddess merely offered the other a gentle smile as she inquired about her ward.

Astarte, prepared to defend herself in a moment's notice, kept a close eye on Loki as he took a step closer to her. Upon hearing him, she hummed a second longer -- still holding a bit of doubt in his words.

"If you say so. Might I inquire what you desire then? I'm afraid, due to past experiences, I cannot simply allow you to pass by my line of sight without questioning you."

The Goddess rose a single brow towards the Trickster God. She was surprised that he even appeared to be interested in seeing her, considering the terms upon their last encounter in the past.

“Long time no see..Loki. I do hope you aren’t planning on causing any problems for my dear Princess.”
