I still need to make their brothers and sister. Laila is basically the middle child because it's their eldest brother, the twins, Laila, the younger brother, then baby sister.

I had a few hours of free time this morning and had every intention to check in on Melo and the crew (cause Imma need him on the grill for Juneteenth ASAP) but I clicked on my Soul Food Legacy Save and ended up spending that time in CAS unexpectedly. 😩

Had a few minutes to work on the Soul Food Legacy Save and spent every last one of those minutes in CAS.

Our Legacy founder finally has a name - Laila Grant. Her and Dominic Fyres have a teen daughter; Imani Grant-Fyres.

Proper introductions and backstory shenanigans to come. I've got quite a few more CAS sessions to do because Laila has a big family. She has 5 siblings and a plethora of nieces and nephews - plus the neighborhood/community kids that love her dearly. But I'm enjoying building a save from scratch because it's been a while. It's also funny how this game reads my mind because the moment I read the challenge rules, I immediately thought of Dominic being her child's father. Soon as I placed her in game, He spawned at the dog park in Brindleton Bay and made his way to her - so their relationship/story progressed naturally (fast but naturally nonetheless).

I also can't wait to build out his family tree because [spoiler alert] Cannonball Coleman is his father and Marcus Flex is his brother. He's still married to Moira, who is Eliza Pancake's older sister in the save.

Is She giving "I'm a Single mom who works too hard...who loves her kid(s) and never stops..." but make it Grown, Sexy, Earthy...and Soul Food? Are ya'll picking up what I'm puttin' down?! 😩

No but seriously, I'm tryna cook for the Soul Food Legacy Challenge but like, I feel like I suck at making Adult sims for real. Is she giving, I'm a 40-something educator with a teen daughter who is (but sorta kinda not really) looking for love again? Does she look like the "glue that holds her dysfunctional ass family togther"? Does she look like the coolest neighborhood auntie? Does she give, I come to you in the spirit of Tabitha Brown meets TheNotoriousKIA (with a dash of Tracee Ellis Ross)?...I envision her style to be Maximalist, Earthy-Afro-Boho. I feel like she's your favorite Social Studies Teacher. You know? The HBCU educated, lover of History (specifically African American Studies), teacher that wants the best for her students and community. Mama is in charge of ALL the block parties! YOU HEAR ME?

Is she giving that? or do I need to sit down and try again? 🥴

Fun Fact: I'm not good at making a sims with a purpose like actually loading CAS with the intent to make a sim (for a specific challenge or etc.). All of my sims have been random townie makeovers that were just hideous and after a few hours of clicking random shit, I end up loving them (sometimes weeks or months later when I see them living their lives in the world...).

how it started vs. how it's going

My cereal is now soggy from me crying for way too long because I found some old shots of Melo and Monet (from when they first hooked up in San Myshuno).

Quite a bit has change for Melo, I'm over here trying to catch up so I can share all the deets. 😩

It's the way I had this grand idea of giving the babies cute little parties for their birthday(s) but as soon as I loaded into Melo's house and heard 3 INFANTS crying, I was this close to rage quiting. . .but I rage-aged Alleia up instead.

Just seeing all them on my homescreen made me want to close my game. 🥴

She aged up with this little chestnut brownish-(slightly) reddish hair and I decided to keep it because (a) she's the cutest little thing! and (b) it reminds me of my older sister's baby pictures because her hair was similar 🥺 (which is also the cutest little thing). Luckily, she rolled the Angelic trait (she was a calm infant), so they'll have a little bit of peace.

I'm currently prepping the save for the wedding FINALLY (because if ya'll didn't know, Melo and Monet are engaged and it's been a helluva rocky road). Melo originally wanted to get married while she was pregnant with baby #1 (Alleia) but life happened (she wanted to focus on her career then unexpectedly she got pregnant with baby #2 (Giordano), then 7 weeks post partum she got pregnant with baby #3 (Kairi). 😩

Family tree is still in the works.

I'll have to go back (in a separate save) and give lil bear the party of her dreams so they can have the photos but like girl. . . I can still hear them crying in my sleep and I CAN'T!

It was released SEVERAL years ago so you should be able to find it for free elsewhere by searching for it by name & creator. The creator's website used to have it for free but now it goes through a serious of suspicious looking Ads (and ain't nobody got time for that) . If you're still having trouble after searching lemme know.
