Another night. russia plan to make huge missile atack. AGAIN. Also here's drons right now and half of Ukraine have air raid. I'm laying in my bed thinking that this night- morning again will spend in a basement of my house and honestly? I'm tired. Every Ukrainian is tired. Imagine how tired we are with this all day all night 7 days a week. We don't have time to sleep, to work, spend time with our family and friends because russian think that my country is their place. I don't know how much and how loud we should scream that we need more air defense and help.
Please, don't ignore the genocide that russia make right now. My heart is bleeding every day seeing the destruction of my country and death of my people. I'm scared and tired of this
So, I continue the series of Ukrainian
headdresses!
This time I drew an "namitka"💖
This is the traditional headdress of married Ukrainian women. The fabric itself reaches a length of up to 5 meters, and thanks to this lenbgth, Ukrainian women could come up with a lot of new images with it)
There were up to 30 ways to tie them on the head, and each one is charming in its own way❤️
also, I made a video of making this illustration (partially I had to draw it in a bomb shelter, because of russian missile attacks)
The man crying in the video is Volodymyr Lohinov - a firefighter who chose the profession because he decided to follow in his father's footsteps. He is crying because the explosion in another area of the city has just killed his father, 52-year-old Vladyslav Lohinov. Both men were on duty when russians shelled the city.
russian recent tactic is to fire more missiles after the first responders come to rescue people after the first attack. They are doing that intentionally to kill people who are able to help and to save lives.
Watch it and realize that behind any number of casualties lies somebody's name, life, family, plans and desire to live. We are not just numbers somewhere in the news. We are people who are forced to survive under constant attacks. We are still here. We are people who lose their lives in terroristic attacks every goddamn day.
My roman empire is that meme of Tarkovsky saying: 'Poetic cinema' while looking awe-struck, and that ppl use it thinking he means like "when a movie is really good", but he's actually talking about a specific film movement - Ukrainian Poetic Cinema - which influenced his work a tone, and a Ukrainian film director - Oleksandr Dovzhenko who was on the forefront of this movement in the 1920s - 1930s, and you can find also find the influence of the artistic continuation of the Ukrainian Poetic Cinema in the 1960s in his works, and he stanned Parajanov, and still the Western academia erases that influence, pushes the Ukrainian Poetic Cinema of the 1960s into the same box of the Soviet New Wave, even though this is a very distinct artistic movement with a unique visual grammar that you don't find in the russian New Wave, because the lens through which the cinema is viewed is still deeply colonialist
russians targeted dniprohes, hydroelectric station where the dam of dnipro reservoir is. and while the dam can withstand direct missile strikes, it is still a declaration that they are ready any moment to murder an unimaginable number of people and commit ecocide. like it's been for ten years
Настав час буковинської відьми Мерріл! Як роздуплюся з записом таймлапсів в Кріті, викладу потім ще й відео.
Merril styled as a Ukrainian witch from the foresty region of Bukovyna.
Раніше я вже малювала Фенріса-козака та Ґоука-шляхтича. She joins the similarly styled sketches of Fenris and Hawke I did in 2022. Who should I draw next? ;)
