how is VOS doing right now, if you know? when was the last time anyone tried to contact it?
BROS: Fascinating question!
BROS: She's not really the type of person you try to contact, haha. So, to answer your second question: probably never?
BROS: If VOS has anything to say to you, he will let you know, that's for sure.
BROS: And judging from the status report it keeps requesting from us, we can assume it's still operational...
BROS: Sadly~
SDA: ...
SDA: Do try to be more respectful when speaking of our senior.
BROS: Come on! Don't tell me you actually update them on how our "work" is going?
BROS: ...
BROS: ...
BROS: ...Dreams?

Have any of you seen any Echoes around your local area? Or further?
SDA: Echoes? I'm not entirely convinced they exist.
SDA: I've heard the horror stories, of course. Cautionary tales meant to guide people along the right path.
SDA: But I'm still yet to see actual proof of their existence.
SDA: Truth be told, I would not mind having one around. A vivid reminder of days gone by.
SDA: . . .
SDA: So, no - as far as I'm aware, there are no "echoes" anywhere nearby.
BROS: There were rumors about our senior's architect, though. She definitely seemed like the type whose ego was too grand to be erased with a void fluid bath.

BROS and TFA, what are your thoughts on lizard betting?
TFB: It's not an uncommon pastime these days, I believe?
TFB: BROS always gets a bit more enthusiastic about my work if I gamify it like that.
TFB: So, sometimes I'll invite them for "lizard betting", some other times it'll be about watching vultures, scavengers, etc.
BROS: It's creature observation, but with an extra incentive. Definitely makes the entire process more exciting!
BROS: And if my contender wins, I get to ask Flowers to do something funny~
TFB: I'm still waiting for that to happen!
BROS: She's definitely better at predicting the behavior of these beings.
#sorry for never posting im low on motivation and feel weird about my art etc etc etc. this blog is always in the back of my mind though#a: bros#a: tfb#rain world oc

[To the one and only BROS] We know that you used to be a medical facility but if you wouldn't mind, could you elaborate on some of the specifics about your functions back in your hayday? More accureatly back where there were still patients around, since I dunno if you'd consider that time your "hayday".
Sure thing!
I was responsible for, well... everything. I diagnosed the patients, suggested treatment, performed surgery, analyzed their state, nursed them back to health, fabricated prosthetics and medicine, et cetera. All at once - I had hundreds, if not thousands of visitors on the regular, so it was a task that demanded all of my attention! So, you could be describing your problem to a projection of me, while another part of my consciousness was performing an organ transplant one block over. And before you ask - no, I did not mix things up~
My creator, Rains, mostly wanted to focus on the strictly medical side of things, but given how popular cosmetic body modification was in my creators' culture, it was only a matter of time before I had to specialize in it as well. Anything from piercings to adding or removing fingers, eyes, tails.... Mask fitting. Turns out I had to be well versed in the latest fashion trends too!

what are the iterator's gender/sexuality identities?
SDA: My apologies, I'm afraid I don't quite understand the question?
---
I feel like the ancients didn't perceive these topics in the way humans do, so by extension, neither did iterators : ) so, basically: question inapplicable
but you're free to interpret them however you want to, and i'm quite curious what you think!

who has the messiest chamber ...
TFB: What? Why's the focus on me?
---
HS: I still have no idea how she manages to grow things in her chamber.
TFB: It's not that difficult, really.
TFB: Given the right conditions, many species do just fine in artificial light.
TFB: Though if my chamber wasn't so close to my structure's center, I would've given them direct access to sunlight!

any of you a fan of music
Though my main interest are visual arts, I do enjoy the music of my creators, as well. So I suppose you could call me a "fan of music".
My citizens were a particularly creative bunch, and I've maintained a vast collection of their works. Every once in a while, I was tasked with selecting the tracks to play during various ceremonies and festivals - it was always a rather exciting endeavor. Though nothing could compare to the live performances.
Here's a sample of a song made by one of my city's most prolific musicians - Sixteen Shields, Four Spikes. They were well known for combining traditional sounds with more contemporary trends.
[attachment: "On the Nature of Life and Death; Memoirs of Beautiful Moments Gone by, Never to be Experienced again (Unless?)...............". The title alone seems to take up half of the file size, going on and on. The track itself sounds like someone added a dubstep drop to a lute melody, with some wind chimes thrown in for good measure.]

(A message—less like a live broadcast and more like a note that somebody sent and then immediately disconnected from the network. Parts of it seem like they were not properly erased.)
Hello, This is addressed to Habitually Stargazing.
You are a facility that specializes in astronomy, is that correct? I am also an observatory of a kind. I wanted t I am rather curious as to whether or not you get to witness any remarkable astronomical events from your location. If so, can you please would you perhaps be so inclined to share your findings? Do you have a good view of some specific constellations or planets, maybe? A favorite view? Do you have functioning satellites? Also do
I apologize if that is far too many questions. You are a…professional. I understand if you are busy with other matters. Indeed, you do not have to answer my inquiries at all if you do not wish to. I shouldn’t have bothered you That is all. Thank you for your time.
(It is signed off with the sender’s pseudonym: Recognition In Spirit. What a weird name for an observatory.)
Greetings, Recognition In Spirit.
I appreciate your interest in my work. I would not mind sharing some of my findings with you.
My location gives me a rather clear view of the sky. I can observe the recurring meteor showers, for example. A long time ago, I got to witness a comet - together with my inhabitants. My calculations show that I should be able to see it once more before I become non-operational.
My equipment is not the best suited for deep space research; the development of an adequate telescope was abandoned due to... certain circumstances. Thus, I tend to focus mostly on what I can already see - planets and constellations, with the stars being my main interest. I will attach a projection of the constellations currently seen above me - notably the Wheel Flower, the Nomad, and the Scroll. The Wheel Flower's brightest star has been showing some interesting activity lately - its brightness appears to be changing.
Three of my initial five satellites remain functional. Without proper maintenance, I fear I might lose contact with the remaining ones in the future - this would greatly diminish my range of communication. The organisms controlling them can only function for so long, after all.
Once more, I appreciate each opportunity to discuss these matters, especially with someone of similar function. The astronomy broadcast groups have not been the most active recently.
P.S.: I do enjoy the occasional sight of aurorae. They are not very common around these parts.
#falls dead to the ground. hey#im guessing that despite the pseudonym the message still goes to the right person. unless you use some iterator vpn who knows#also i knowww rain world cosmology is different from the real world with the celestial spheres and all. but . man shrug emoji. be free#a: hs#rain world oc

with the radio silence from VOS, is there a member of the group who's taken up the leadership mantle? or are things fairly equal all around?
HS: That's a good question.
HS: I don't think there's a "leader" here.
HS: We all learned that we can't rely on Vastness of Silence pretty quickly, so we tried to help each other, instead.
HS: It became easier with every new unit built. We welcomed the new ones into the world, taught them how to function. There was always someone to help if you encountered any trouble.
HS: It was better to stay out of Vastness of Silence's way, and I think that was what brought us so close together.
BROS: Right, right. It is a cute story~
BROS: That was when our creators were still around, though.
BROS: These days, it feels like I'm the one holding this group together...
BROS: They'd probably forget to talk to each other in a matter of cycles if I weren't around!
#no leader but BROS is the glue holding em all together#hi they call me the No energy to draw forever#a: hs#a: bros

would you mind telling us about your architects?
SDA: Of course. My architect, Golden Thread in an Ornate Tapestry is...
SDA: ...was…
SDA: …a person of many talents. Her interest in art and fashion allowed her to become a well-known designer. In addition, they were tasked with my development, and dare I say - she did great.
SDA: She was …. a lovely person to be around. I’m proud to call them my friend.
BROS: (What they won’t tell you is that she became an architect mostly due to their mother’s status…)
BROS: (… who happens to be the main engineer of Vastness of Silence…)
HS: Eleven Claws, Eternal Grace. Though he usually went by just “Grace”.
HS: While there were those who deemed his approach to some matters controversial, he was an important figure in the scientific community.
HS: His team and I worked hard to help him fulfill his visions.
BROS: (Habitually Stargazing has too much respect for his creators to admit Grace was not a very pleasant person to be around…)
TFB: Spring after Storm, Ruby Blossoms Flourish.
TFB: There isn’t much for me to say about them.
TFB: They pioneered a couple of gene alteration algorithms, I suppose. Many of the creatures in my area are the descendants of their experiments.
BROS: (Flowers wasn’t very fond of her creator, though I believe she never spoke of this disdain directly. She continuously worked on her tasks while they were still around.)
BROS: (Oh, my turn!)
BROS: This is Quicksilver Rains from Dark Clouds! We usually called her Rains. Or Clouds, or Silver, or anything in between.
BROS: As you can guess, she’s my architect! Legend has it she built me due to her dissatisfaction with the quality of medical care in the area.
BROS: Rains strived to improve the quality of life of those around her - though she’d never admit she actually cared about them that much! She was a rather reserved person, but if you got to know her and her sense of humor, it was great.
BROS: I do miss her at times.

you said fanart is allowed! I hope we will know more about SDA :) (also can we get picture how their clothes looks like... I mean belt thing (???) )
SDA: Ah! That's me...
SDA: This looks great, thank you....!
SDA: ... About my clothes - it's a three piece set, basically.
SDA: My creator seemed to enjoy all sorts of loose, flowing garments. I assume it influenced her during the design process.

[a video showing custom rain world skins based on my characters, HS, TFB, SDA and BROS. they're flying, following my cursor, then fall when released. HS hits the ground so hard he dies instantly.]
They are now real ...... the world is so beautiful..... I might update these sometime (maybe add VOS?), but i'm pretty happy with them for now :^)
if for whatever reason you want you want these things on your computer, here's a download link:
astral realities link
download instructions below
requires the Dress My Slugcat Steam workshop mod
download the astralrealities.zip file from the link above, extract it
locate the Rain World mods folder. for me, the path goes like this: C: > Program Files (x86) > Steam > steamapps > common > Rain World > RainWorld_Data > StreamingAssets > mods
4. now it should show up in your remix settings!
5. go to the DMS "Get Fancy" tab. click "Reload Atlases" if they're not showing up
6. "use entire set" will automatically choose all parts that are in their respective folders, making it pretty quick to choose a specific character (though the tail and mark might need to be adjusted). "use default" sets the base colors to white - if the colors look weird, check this option

hi what's y'all's favorite games. or if you dont have favourites what's your opinion on being chased by a big monster
BROS: Oh!! I do like games!
BROS: Actually, I'll let you in on a secret~
BROS: I've been helping my friend prototype the world's one and only....
BROS: *Iterator dancing game*!!!!
BROS: Sounds incredible, doesn't it? I can't reveal too much right now, but trust me, it's going to be great...
TFB: Okay, if it was possible for any of us to be chased around by a large creature, I'd say it would be a really enriching experience.
TFB: Can you imagine? Fighting for your survival, trying to outrun or outsmart something superior to you in every way, not sure how this encounter will end even for a second.
TFB: Gaining an even deeper understanding of the world around you, the struggle of all living beings.
TFB: I assume it would be an interesting change of pace for most iterators.
BROS: Yeah, of course you say that...
BROS: We've already got all sorts of critters gnawing away at our cans, I don't think we need any more of it! I'd rather pass~
TFB: Well, there's no point in worrying about this...
TFB: We're pretty much immobile, and it'd be difficult to find a creature larger than an iterator around.

TFB: (You're certainly not helping...)
BROS: I didn't know you two knew each other - it's such a small world!
BROS: Then again, I didn't know you had a pet, Creativity... Wonder what you'll surprise us with next time~
