How do nature jutsus work? like water jutsus? where does the water come from? is all you need chakra to do those things? or do you need to be around water? like, if your in suna where its dry without water would a water jutsu work? what if you have two nature affinities and can make ice or something? do you need to be around water there too? i dont really understand where it "comes" from. thx

okay, well quite frankly, it doesn’t make sense. really, what the series (at least initially) tells us is that nature jutsus need a) chakra and b) a way to shape it. But during the Orochimaru vs Sandaime fight I believe there was some kind of ninja super impressed that the Nidaime could summon so much water without being near a source?

I always imagined that ‘chakra’ is a term form ‘universal energy’, as in energy that flows through everything, that powers the universe. to create water jutsu, I always think of it as using your own chakra to draw moisture from around you - from the air, or from the earth or whatever and just collecting it before shaping it into a specific form (like a wave, or a dragon or whatever). i would imagine that in certain environments it would be easier to summon a water jutsu than others - if you’re for instance around kiri, it would be super-easy, as the air and the ground is saturated with moisture. The same with Konoha (which I think of as having a borderline rainforest like humidiy), or Kumo (I mean you’re high up in the mountains near clouds) etc. Now Iwa and Suna, I think have dryer environments, which mean it probably takes more chakra and concentration to put together a water jutsu.

The same might be done for fire jutsu; fire is generated by thermal energy, which is created by the vibration of particles in an object. In this way, one might use internal chakra to influence the speed of moving particles, heating up air and creating a ‘fire’ jutsu. however, this would work easier in a dry environment, or with combustible fuel nearby.

For wind jutsu, there is usually some kind of physical influence involved, i.e. Temari’s fan, and then using chakra to manipulate the wind already initialised. However, wind may be generated using chakra to induce a temperature change in the air, causing it to ascend or descend. This leads to a difference in air pressure - as air at the surface will want to move from high to low pressure to equalise the difference, wind is created.

Now earth based attacks may be created and adapted through manipulating soil’s moisture content, influencing atoms to bind and create chemicals to form oxides or calcium to harden earth, or through some sort of outwards pressure. in this case, it might again be using internal chakra to affect air pressure, which would compact earth into for example, an earth wall.

Lightning attacks would mainly be created by using internal chakra to pull/push/collect static charge through ice crystals inducing friction in the air. when enough of a static charge is collected, it can be shaped with chakra and then released in a physical form.

Now, to create something like Ice, you would need to have a natural affinity for the two component nature types, so in this case, water and wind, forming a kekkei genkai. since you have the ability to collect moisture from the air, but also influence the temperature of the surrounding air, it would be pretty simply to freeze moisture into an ice form. the same sort of logic might be applies to for instance, Explosion Release, where natural chemicals can be lifted from the earth and then rapidly ignited using an static electrical charge, causing an explosion (similar to using an electric blasting cap to ignite C4).

He was not able to fully utilize offensive ninjutsu until he was 12, and is still trying to learn the Water Dragon jutsu. He is, however very effective in using his kekkei genkai, Cell Control Technique, which is sometimes considered a counterpart to the bone style kekkei genkai.         Coming to Konohagakure nearly a year ago, he has made great friends with Sakura, but Naruto seems to think that Awaoji is stealing Sakura away from him....*sigh* Anyway, Awaoji has made plenty of acquaintances in Konohagakure, and hopes to go onto another fun mission with new ninja!
