I subscribe Tetraky's words and want to add an opinion I've been meaning to share.

I've seen lots of people complain about MCL's expensiveness through all these years and I honestly believe it's quite unfair most of the time. For starters, it's a game that allows you to play for free (maybe at a slower rhythm, but still free) while so many other games don't. You have to pay for lots of things in life (for games, for going to the movies, for getting a streaming suscription, etc), yet all the criticism seems to focus on MCL for doing the same 😅

I can totally understand people getting frustrated because they can't always pay for something they like/want (hell, I get frustrated because I'm a greedy bitch who wants all kind of things 😂), but there are so many people behind the MCL game who needs to get payed for their job just like everyone else (and Beemoov is a company that does what companies do: they invest in something hoping to regain that imvestment plus some profits).

That being said, I have to say that I played HSL entirely for free (and let me tell you the original system was a fucking nightmare 😅, we really won with the dialogue system). It was slower and sometimes I was several episodes behind, but I finished it without expending money. When UL came out I was in my early 20's, still studying and without a job, so I didn't have too much money to put into the game. I logged in each day and spent like 4/5€ every two or three months (depending on episodes extension), same with LL, so I finished the last two seasons with minimal cost.

What I'm trying to say is that it is totally possible to play the MCL games for free and though it's too soon for me to judge New Gen yet, I think it's going to be the same. And if we do actually have to pay a little (or a lot if you can and want to) then that's also ok because this, at the end of the day, is an entertainment product you're not forced to buy.

A couple of weeks ago I made a post about New Gen being cheaper than old MCL and quite easy to play for free, I wanted to write an update now that episode 3 is out.

I have 4 accounts, two where I play with VIP and two where I play for free. Having played twice today I can say that episode 3 costs 1,190 on Thomas' route and ~1,450 for Jason's (which it seems to always be slightly more expensive due to it being an extra scene and the extra choices to unlock it). These include the cost of the outfit and the the present for Taki from Archie.

This month less time is passing between episodes releases due to slight delay with the launch of the game, so 3 weeks will have passed between episode 2 and 3 by the time it's released to all players. From our calendar this corresponds to 1,030 AP, which is almost enough to play this episode by simply cumulating APs every day.

Again, this short release is just a special case, episode 4 is going to back to a monthly release (VIP accounts have the countdown already), which from our calendar is worth 1,780 APs for free accounts and 2,480 APs for VIPs. More than enough to play episodes by logging in every day. Add to this that now f2p players are going to have guides ready by the time their release day comes... MCL has suddenly become one of the easiest game to play for free ever.

MCL NEW GEN THEORY(S)

But Astreia, surely it's too soon to start making theories! NO IT'S NOT, IT'S NEVER TOO SOON FOR ME.

I've been dying to share this theory(s) since the game came out last week, but my Tumblr wasn't working properly. Now that it's apparently fixed I can't wait to share and see what you all think. Will you agree? Will you think I've gone mental? We'll find out 😂

WARNING: the following text contains spoilers of the first two episodes of MCL New Gen. Do not keep reading if you haven't played Episode 2 (or well you can continue reading under your responsability if you don't care about spoilers).

Let me precede this by saying that this isn't a full-fledged theory. Since we're only two episodes into the game, I don't have enough evidence to back this up completely, so I'm calling it an inkling rather than a proper theory.

My inkling/theory is about Jason, Roy, Devon and how their enmity goes beyond just a professional rivalry. It's kind of divided into two parts or two inklings/theories:

THE FACTS (PART 1: ROY'S ROLE IN DEVENEMENTIEL)

Let's start with what we learn from Roy.

He says he and Devon grew up together, went to college together and decided to embark on a bussiness together (though it wasn't his true calling).

But why would he get involved into something that wasn't his true calling? Was it only because of Devon's influence? Roy says Devon's mother babysitted and he spent quite some time with him back then, so maybe Roy's parents are wealthy and he's the investor or equity partner behind Devenementiel.

When Amanda is telling Ysaline "it's the boss who decides", Roy appears and says "are you talking about me?".

This is curious because he clearly heard what she was saying, but made that jab anyway. Was it possible that he wasn't joking? That he was joking by telling the truth?

After that, he says he's Devon's second in charge.

Yes, maybe Devon put him in that position because Roy is his friend, but that isn't professional if Roy only knows about sport events.

Amanda continues by saying he's wrong and that he's like the rest of the team, but Roy answers by saying "well, not exactly like the rest... well, whatever".

It looks like he was going to say more, like he's refering to not being actually at the same level as the rest of the team.

This isn't a huge detail but he calls Devon "the big boss" and you normaly use that term when there are more bosses around.

He kind of deflects Ysaline's question about wheter he's only in charge of sport events.

He is in the New Palace meeting, something that doesn't involve sports. Apart from Ysaline, the meeting seems to involve bosses/owners (Jason, Devon, the New Palace's owner...) and not team members.

CONCLUSION 1:

I really think Roy is co-founder and co-owner of Devenementiel and that he might be the one who financed the company. I think he's also our boss but he is playing coy about it. Knowing what we do about him, I don't think he likes the normal boss-like relationships with his employees and prefers to be "in the field" with them, being part of their team, and leaving other matters to Devon. That would make sense for a guy with his attitude.

THE FACTS (PART 2: THE HOSTILITY BETWEEN DEVON, ROY & JASON)

Now let's see what we learn from the whole Devenementiel vs. Goldreamz situation:

Roy is extremely upset and angry at anything Jason or Goldreamz.

This might be normal between rivals, but I can't help but think Roy's reactions are too extreme and there seems to be some kind of resentment.

Roy calls Jason "cheater and thief" and specifies that it's not only in relation to Danica.

This is what got me thinking hard about everything, because Roy went too far and if it's not about Danica, then about what could it be? Of course, it could be about Goldreamz getting their deals, but again it reads like too much for a professional rivalry.

Jason refers to Roy as Devon's guardian dog.

Not super important, but I get the feeling that Jason, Devon and Roy knows each other too well, and that Jason says this like it irks him. Could it be some bitterness?

Devon says to the New Palace's owner that "we've crossed paths already" refering to Jason.

This could just be something normal to say, but he doesn't add anything about their paths crossing because of bussiness. So maybe he's referencing knowing each other for a long time because of other motives.

Jason showing up and trying way too hard to get in Devenementiel's way.

It could be for the sake of the story, but isn't it too much? Could there be other reasons behind his behaviour?

CONCLUSION 2:

This is the "inkling" part of the theory, I guess. I have a hunch that Devon, Roy and Jason not only have known each other for a long time, but that they were actually friends. I think that maybe Jason was one of the other kids Devon's mother babysitted or that maybe they met in college, that they started their journeys and careers together. I think Jason and Devon (who are clearly more into events production & management than Roy) had this dream of starting a company and that Roy got on board with their friends so they could all work and be together. And I think something went horribly worng in the process.

I think that whatever happened between them might have been a misunderstanding relating to projects and/or money (hence the cheater and thief comment), something that framed Jason and turned Devon and Roy against him and in turn made Jason bitter about their friends not believing him.

Having this into account, there are a few possibilities that I can think off:

They founded Goldreamz, Devon and Roy left and Jason got the company (another posssible reson for Roy callin him thief), so Devon and Roy founded Devenementiel.

They founded Devenementiel and Jason was forced to leave, so he founded Goldreamz for revenge (and paying the bills obviously).

Everything happened at the early stages of creating a company, so maybe an external investor or something gave the project to one of them (possibly Jason) because they weren't sure about the others, and this was seen as a betrayal.

If anything about my theory proves to be right, then Ysaline will be able to get to the core of this a resolve the misunderstanding, getting Devon, Roy and Jason to make up (not before having us siding with someone and making drama 😂). This could lead to the future fusion of both Devenementiel and Goldreamz and a happy ending for all the characters.

And that's it, that's all. If I see more evidence in future episodes I will update this. So what do you say, have I read too much into everything? Do you agree with my theory or have anything to add to it? Let me know what you guys think.

To be honest, I don't even know where to begin! I've been playing MCL New Gen since release day and there's a lot to unpack. Chinomiko and Beemoov totally level up the game 💕 Without further ado, let's talk about all the aspects.

THE WEB

In one word: stunning. I absolutely love the new web! It's aesthetic, functional, smooth and it has so many things. The team has been able to create a website that it's really up to date while also keeping the essence of MCL. Everything is so vibrant and visual, and there's so much effort and detail put into it 💕

At first it was a bit overwhelming because I'm used to the MCL site, but once you look into it you get tha hang of it quickly. Taki's tutorial has also been really helpful to get to discover the new functionalies.

And I love that we can get messages from the crushes!

THE CUSTOMIZATION

OMG, I was like a child unwrapping presents on Christmas Day 😂 I had so much fun!

The wardrobe: it's super functional. I love the Sims' CAS-like approach for selecting clothes categories and that we get filters so we can organize our clothes and don't waste time looking for things. The "Favorite Outfits" section is the most expected addition and something that will surely come into use. And now we can layer wigs!

The room: a dream come true. I cannot stress enough how much I like decor. I'm not embarrassed to confess I spend quite a lot time on YT watching renos and makovers, and I make my own designs on HomeByMe and other software programs. So I really love being able to decor Candy/Ysaline's room! We have 5 decor elements + wall/window/floor treatment. It's enough but I'm greedy and I hope we get more in the future. Or better yet: a full house/appartment when Candysaline moves out of her mom's! A girl can dream. I call it the the homeowner wannabe syndrome 😂

Taki: I love Taki but I'm not into pet dressing, so it's not something I care about. But I will say that I'm so fucking glad I don't have to pay attention to him so he doesn`t go back to his egg. I call that win-win.

Personalities: it's so cool that we get fluid and evolving personalities + matching website aesthetic and work desk.

THE MINI GAMES

I can only talk about the daily tasks. They're ok, I guess. It's not a funny game but the ventageperk is that you can mess up. I count my wins when I can 😂 The styling contests looks funny and I will probably do a few in the beggining, but don't know if I'll keep doing them long-term.

THE ART

Not many things to say about the art, it's spectacular as always ✨

I'm ordering from most to least loved/liked.

To be honest, I wasn't interested in Thomas when he was announced as a crush. I think it had everything to do with the fact that I played as MCL Candy for so many years that my brain couldn't quite catch up with the fact that Thomas was not a little boy anymore. It was like I still had Iris baby brother inked in my brain and I felt like a cradle-snatcher 😂 But he seems elusive, mysterious and changeling so up in my list he goes.

Upon crushes announcement, Roy was (after Jason) the one that caught my eye and he was my pick for second route, but after the first two episodes I'm not too much into him. Of course, that could change, but I find him a little bland and boring so far. I think it's because at first he seems to only care about sports, but I'm sure he has so much more to offer.

I've barely interacted with him and still don't know much about him, but so far he's nice but meh. And he kinds of hate me after I talked to Jason 😂

It's nothing personal, I'm just not into women (sexually speaking) so I can only see her as a good friend.

THE STORY/EPISODES

So soon to have an opinion yet, but I'm really excited to see where the story goes! It has so much potential and I relate a lot to Candysaline. But because I'm me, I've already got a theory that I'm going to share next.

I also love that we get new additions like the jokers, tips for obtaining the illus if you don't get them, special scenes that you can replay anytime and the recap at the end of the episode.

THE SYSTEM

Again, it's too soon to judge. At first glance it seems expensive and you get overwhelmed by the AP expense on clothes and decisions, but we also get a lot of AP, hearts and gems on the calendar. So what I'm trying to say is that I'm still figuring it out and I need more time (at least 1-2 months of login daily and playing) before forming a well founded opinion. The same applies to the VIP membership, though I would gladly exchange the earley access for a first free play of the episode. Again, a girl can dream.

What I don't like are the limited offers. They're so beautiful and tempting but I refuse to spend that much money on items that are not goinf to impact the game. Even though the Quiet Reading and Foggy Mystery ones stole my heart 😭

Azriel has been "in love" with Mor for over 500 years and he didn't once questioned fate, the Mother or the Cauldron. He never tried to make a move, never tried to fight for her; he was just resigned to never being with her, content to just have her as a friend.

But when it came to Elain, he couldn't resist, he was acting, throwing all caution to the wind. He practically said "fuck it all" and lost control, letting his feelings lead him. He questioned everything, he was mad at the circumstanced, he went against Rhys, he was willing to fight in a Blood Duel for her.

That's how much he wants her, that's how much he feels for her 💕

my favorite thing about azriel is that his response to elain having a mate that isn’t him was basically, “well then this whole continents religion is wrong” which is the most melodramatic thing he could have possibly said

✨ I'M BAAAAAAACK ✨

It's been two years since I went MIA, so I don't know if there's anyone reading this or I'm writing into the deep web 😂

The main reason (but not the only one) I started this blog was to share my MCL passion, and when MCL ended I truly planned to stay here to share my other passions (books, tv shows, other games), but then I started studying (again) and you know... Life is hectic, I'm a mess and though part of my work life is marketing & social media I'm the worst when it comes to mine LOL

But MCL New Gen is here 💕 And I have to scream, ramble, hype and fangirl because if I don't do it I'll probably implode. So here I am, ready to scream at your faces again. Sorry not sorry.

Should I update you a bit about my life now? It seems like the most logical move. So here are a few things that probably won't interest anyone else but my grandma.

I'm older (29). Physically. Mentally I tend to swing between 15 years old hyperactive emo girl and a 80 years old english lady who is tired of civilization.

After studying a few things in the past years of my life I'm finally done (for now, at least). Now I'm working for a travel & event management/production agency where I do that plus marketing, social media & some graphic design.

I'm still living in my mom's home and aiming for independence. Oh, the dream.

I have new dog. His name is Zeus and he's the cutest living thing on earth.

I don't know what more to say, but these things I have to do in 3's, 5's or 10's. I'm trying to be a bookstagrammer? But I'm the worst at posting. I'm also writing my own books but I'm still working on perseverance.

And that's all for now! I've already played the first two episodes of New Gen and I'm loving it. I'm so excited about this game because 1) it's the MCL universe and Chinomiko's 💕 2) I share lots of things in common with the new Candy 3) MY CRUSH MY CRUSH MY CRUSH 💙💙💙
