“That’s the last time I go to a pop-up sale,” Tyler said with a sigh as she plopped down on the couch at the cafe. “Not only did this woman rip the one nice shirt there that I was trying to get, but she also tore the one I was wearing. Correction: Am wearing.” Thankfully, Tyler was wearing a pretty loose old shirt. She pulled it where it bunched up to show a big tear right across her stomach. “I look ridiculous.”

“i don’t know about ridiculous,” she responded, trying to look at the situation more positively. it wasn’t that bad to astrid, but it certainly was a rude thing to do to someone. and a waste too. “i think it looks unique?” at least she tried.

she felt it must have been quite odd to attempt to paint strangers at a park, but she was trying to gain inspiration. mainly from anyone who could possibly doing something out of the ordinary. all she’s felt like painting were average things; trees, lakes, and birds. astrid wanted something different to add to her collection of paintings, something unique. the problem was, she wanted to ask someone and pose for her just for it to be easier to paint a person who wasn’t moving around all the time, but preferred not to do so. just so she could watch people doing their own business. staying where she was, she still felt like she was in a rut. it didn’t help the fact she went out of town for a while either. astrid had such a passion for art, but all of a sudden, it felt like it was slipping away and that was something she wouldn’t accept. not yet anyway. with a sigh, she stared at a blank canvas before scratching the back of her head. “who wants to grab a bite to eat?” she asked out loud. she certainly felt awkward seconds later, but she’d rather not eat by herself.

“Never have I ever… publicly humiliated anyone.” Prisha rolled her eyes at her present company for that one, laughing as she recalled an instance where she indeed had publicly humiliated a student. “So I wear saris to work all the time right? Not every day; I wear dresses and stuff too obviously,“ she stated as she gestured to her casual jeans and top that she was currently wearing, "But I just like wearing traditional clothes every now and then. Even when I was a TA, I wore them. There was this one time when I was a TA…” she trailed off, remembering the exact situation. “The professor was at a conference and I was subbing for him. There’s always that one kid though, you know? The one who thinks they can get away with murder when the professor isn’t in the classroom. He had to fucking ask why I was wearing my toga costume when it wasn’t even Halloween. Keep in mind, this was in a lecture hall with about two hundred… three hundred students, maybe? Needless to say, I very politely asked him to leave and come back when he wanted to stop being an ignorant smart ass.” Prisha took another shot, her nose scrunching at the bitter taste. “Never have I ever gone skinny dipping?” she offered randomly. 

swirling her drink, she continued listening to prisha and smiled at her story before eventually laughing and shaking her head. she always found any story involving teaching interesting. actually, she found any story fascinating as long as the person telling it wasn't saying it out of boredom. a reason why she enjoyed teaching; she loved it when people were passionate about something, especially if that something was what they truly enjoyed. just like how she was passionate when it came to art in general. "well, that person certainly deserved it and i believe you handled the situation very well," she complimented, smiling brightly at the other. "hopefully you never have to run into a person like that again." as she was giggling though, she stopped so suddenly before pursing her lips and shaking her head. she soon swallowed down a shot before placing the small glass back on the table. “for the record, it wasn’t my idea. i used to teach at a different college, a camping trip was going on, a few professors were chaperoning, and one of those professors was my ex, so at the time, we thought it would be fun to go for it for a night,” she explained with a shrug.

She pulls herself from the pool somewhat reluctantly, the chilled air forming goosebumps along her tan skin. Blinking the water from her lashes, Shay runs a hands over her face and pauses confused for a moment to find her towel missing. “Hey,” she turns, eyes locking on someone else close by. “That’s my towel you’re holding.” 

after getting out of the pool earlier, she mistakenly took away a towel, being confused by the color and practically forgetting that she left her's in a locker. turning around, she kept a hold of the item before her eyes widened slightly. "oh! sorry about that. i didn’t mean to take it,” she responded, reaching her hand out to give back the towel.

while listening over to abigail, she nodded her head slowly before taking a sip of her own coffee then adding onto the conversation, “that’s not such a bad idea. i’m not the biggest fan of cold weather either, but i do want to see snow at some point.”
