Learning science history makes ancient alien theories so funny because it's like "Aliens gave our ancestors advanced technology!" "Cool, did they teach them about how many elements there are? Or how oxygen leads to fire? Or how atoms work? Or about germ theory?"
"No they excusively exclusively taught them technology used to stack really big rocks. They also taught them how to make a really big lightbulb without knowing how to make clear glass. Oh also, they taught them how to make a battery but didn't teach them about sulfuric acid so it just uses vinegar as an electrolyte. Other than that, the aliens just left them believing in 4 elements, phlogiston, 4 humors, geocentrism and all that. They also didn't transfer any crops between the continents, they just left them with the crops they'd been selectively breeding for 10,000 years."

The old trope of parents begging their kids to eat their veggies/meat/milk is way more endearing when you realize nutrition is a recent science; people only realized how micronutrient poor the average diet was in the 30s/40s. Most people before 1950 were undernourished and stunted. Meat, veggies and dairy were expensive foods, those parents were paying to give their kids a better future.
