hey guys, i have some good news!!

remember my friend @aburakhiaibrahim? he's just told me that his sister samah, who lives in canada, applied for family reunification and was approved! this means that ibrahim and his family can now go join her in canada. she's also the one running his fundraiser campaign, by the way!

however, there's an issue -- to go to canada, to samah and to safety, ibrahim and his family need to reach egypt first. and we all know that crossing the border into egypt is no easy feat, especially when you consider the exorbitant amount of money they require.

ibrahim and his family have lost everything - their family, home, livelihoods. this is the one chance they have to making it to safety. their goal is $30k CAD, but they're only at around $13k at the time of writing this post. not even halfway. he's reached out to me and i promised to do my best to help, which is why i'm writing this. he's my friend and i want nothing more than for him and his family to be safe.

so please, please, donate what you can. bear in mind that because of conversion rates, even $5 USD or 5 euro would mean a lot to ibrahim. if you are unable to donate, please reblog. please. their last donation was 4 days ago. they can see a way out - please help them reach there.

Hi! My name is Rend, and I really thought I’d never have to make one of these, but my current life situation demands it!

I’ll be as straight forward as possible, because I know everyone hates a guilt trip. I have had an ongoing wrist injury for 3 years, that has now reached at point where I am unable to work without being in excruciating pain. I’m taking a required medical leave of absence from my job, and seeking treatment, but its unpaid, and I am the sole provider for my household.

I live with my girlfriend who is currently trapped at 15hrs a week, that barely covers car payments, and I am responsible for $2200 monthly for bills - $2500 if I’m counting food. Unless I can get some outside help, I may wind up homeless, or in substantial debt I may never be able to dig myself out of.

If you can help chip in, I’d really appreciate it. My current goal is $2000 to cover all of my bills this month, but I know thats a long shot. Every cent helps.
