The Great Conjunction on Winter Solstice 21st Dec 2020 - Saturn and Jupiter with 4 Galilean moons: Callisto, Io, Ganymede and Europa. (at East Lyme, Connecticut) https://www.instagram.com/p/CJFLNwIJVtb/?igshid=alidrhoso1k7

Crescent Moon with Saturn and Jupiter last night. Saturn and Jupiter appear so close to each other - the distance smaller than the width of Moon. In reality, the distance between Earth and Jupiter (about 600 million Kim’s) is the same as the distance between Jupiter and Saturn. They only appear close in the sky. Three Galilean moons of Jupiter were visible - Callisto on the left and Ganymede and Europa on the right. These two giant planets will be even closer on the 21st. Hoping for clear skies on that day. #astrophotography (at East Lyme, Connecticut) https://www.instagram.com/p/CI8RgKjJpB_/?igshid=rrrlm3q7avd8
