Nao: Good evening, nice to meet you. I'm Nao, also known as Unknown from Twi■■light. Thank you for listening to our broadcast.

Kei: I’m Kei, also known as Dusk from Twi■■light. Despite it being sudden, I'm glad you’re watching this. 

Seira: I’m Seira, also known as Stella from Twi■■light. It's been a while since I last dived, so to be honest I’m a little nervous… I’m glad you’ll be spending a little time with me. 

Kei: Let’s start by explaining our unit. Then, leader, you first. 

Nao: Hm? Mm. I’m the leader. 

Seira: … That’s all?! There’s definitely something more to say than that.

Nao: Huh? Um. Is there something else?

Siera: There is. What about the kind of unit Twi■■light is? What about us resuming activities? 

Nao: Uhh… Do as you wish. 

Seira: Leader!   

Kei: Well, it seems like our leader is a bit lacking in nutrition. Here, a cereal bar. 

Seira: Haa.. I’ll say a bit then. Twi■■light is a unit formed 9 years ago by Nao and Kei. And I joined the group 7 years ago. After that, we took a break from activities for a while, and now we’re back. 

Kei: Well because the break was so long, I almost feel like a newbie. I want to take this opportunity to show you a new Twi■■light. We’ll see what happens.

Nao: Isn’t everyone so busy that we can’t do much? Even today, Seira’s modeling work was busy again so now we’re streaming late at night.

Nao: Umm…I guess I'm in charge of composing music within the unit. My instrument is guitar? I can basically play anything. That’s all. 

Kei: Eh… Are you done already…?

Seira: Please introduce yourself in a better way. You’re the cornerstone of Twi■■light’s music. I joined the unit because I was moved by the music you make. Make sure to emphasize that. 

Nao: Ehhh~ Seira, you're giving me such great praise.

Siera: I only acknowledged your musical sense, nothing else.

Kei: Seira really loves the music Nao makes. Now then, my turn. I'm the group’s engineer, in charge of Twi■■light’s mixing. To put it simply,  I adjust the sound recorded by each person to get the best balance. It's my role to turn it into a single cohesive song. Other than that, I also do all the other small miscellaneous things.

Nao:  It must be hard work.

Kei: I just got better at it the more I did it.

Seira: He also does the video editing and he’s a pro at the bass. 

Kei: Haha, I just became able to do that too. 

Seira: It’s scary how easily he does everything while laughing. Lastly, my turn. I write the lyrics for  Twi■■light’s songs. My instrument is the piano. Technically, I'm still no match for Nao, but I hope to catch up quickly. I'm doing it with passion in my own way.

Kei: As Seira said earlier, Twi■■light’s music stems from Nao's delicate worldview. We plan to work hard so that we can convey that world to as many fans as possible.

Nao: Zzzz…zzzz…

Kei: So, it seems like while we were talking enthusiastically, Nao himself has begun to doze off.

Nao: Zzzz… 

Seira: Hello, anyone there?! We were having a serious conversation! 

Kei: ......That’s the kind of unit we are. I think everyone would have understood well enough.

Seira: No, this isn't a good enough explanation. We need to tall about before the hiatus, about our musicality, etc.

TITLE(Ren): Astro Dive: Third stage Separation

Ren(monologue): It started about a year ago. That day, I was just aiming for the top like climbing the stairs to the starry sky. Higher, higher. I've always loved music, but there's one other thing I love... stargazing. Whenever I got stuck while composing, I would always go out to look at the stars. That day was the peak of the meteor shower, and I had been looking forward to it for a long time. But the sky was cloudy, and I couldn’t see a single star. I resented the sky. The natural environment was getting worse day by day. But on the other hand, I couldn’t give up, so I grabbed my observation equipment and headed to the tower. It was a great opportunity, and I didn't want to miss it. So I took the risk. This tower, the tallest in the area, had been designated a No-go Zone by the government's new National Conservation Agency. This tower, once a symbol of Japan, has been reduced to mere rubble. ……I think it’s pitiful. But I’m also drawn to pitiful places like that.  So even though I knew it was dangerous, I sneaked up there.

Flashback

Ren: When I reached the top,  I was greeted by a magnificent view. There wasn't much light around there, so it was perfect for stargazing. I continued my observations in high spirits, staying in the tower until the night sky began to lighten.

Ren: …  I never imagined that someone was tailing me…

MiKe Studio Lounge

Sou: A student from our school had been following Ren, and when he saw his behavior he reported him to the National Conservation Agency. So Ren was taken away and interrogated. 

Minato: They claimed that Ren went to a restricted area and engaged in illegal money and goods transactions. But that’s impossible. He’d never do that. The guys in the dorm knew that Ren liked stargazing!

Sou: In the end, the misunderstanding was cleared up and he was released, but his school found out he had gone to the tower and he was suspended…

Ren: ...At that time, our unit, ATOMOSUREINN, was at the peak of its popularity and we had a ton of fans. It was the best time of our lives. But, rumors about me started spreading, and people started saying that I'd been arrested for a minor crime, which caused a firestorm of controversy. Since I was suspended and our group activities had stopped, I guess people thought it was true. ATOMOSUREINN derailed quickly, and by the time my suspension was lifted and we resumed activities– All that was left was bad reviews… 

Ren: … It was my fault. 

Minato: It’s not your fault! 

Ren: But you both always say that. I knew it's dangerous to go into the restricted area. I should have stayed away, but instead I just went up to the tower thoughtlessly...

Sou: Of course, it would have been better if you had listened, but it's wrong to follow someone with malicious intent.

Minato:   That's right, I told you not to worry! Even though you haven’t done anything, people are spreading rumors and speaking negatively... There's no need to give in to those kinds of voices!

Sou: Besides, I can't think of any other reason why that student would go to the trouble of setting up such a trap for Ren other than jealousy. He was still holding a grudge over losing to Ren in a class evaluation.

Kei: … This person that followed Ren, they knew each other? 

Minato: He was Ren’s friend. He’s dropped out of school now. 

Kei: I see. 

Ren: But if I hadn't climbed the tower back then, this wouldn't have happened. My head was filled with regret. I didn't even feel like touching the guitar or writing the song I was working on. … So, I decided that was enough. I had sworn I'd never climb the tower again, but now I don't need to keep that promise anymore– I gave up both ATOMOSUREINN and my dream of becoming the top Astro Dive, decided to end it all... and went there.

Nao: I see. 

Seira: That's horrible. 

Toa: That's why they told him not to worry and keep fighting, so that Ren-kun wouldn't get depressed.

Soa: We said that... but…

Toa: But the heart doesn't work that way. Even if you try not to worry about it, you just can't forget about it.  I like the clumsiness of people like that though.

Minato: … I didn't know what else to say… Ren continued playing for ATOMOSUREINN in silence... I thought maybe time would solve the problem.

Momota: Ah, I'm starting to feel a bit sorry for him. So one mistake caused him to lose all his friends and his fans?

Yamato: Hey, don’t rub salt in his wound.

Nao: – No, you haven’t lost it all, have you? 

Seira: You have friends who put everything else aside to search for you, and your unit hasn't disbanded yet. You can still keep going. 

Minato: Of course I still want to be  with Ren and continue ATOMOSUREINN. Because Ren said so. "ATOMOSUREINN will not disband. If we disband, it will be after we are chosen as the best in the universe by Triple G."

Ren: Huh?

Sou: You said that. I remember that as well. 

Ren: …That’s right…

Minato: If you don't keep this promise, you'll be the biggest liar in the universe. I'll call you a traitor for the rest of your life. 

Ren: … That's... no good.

Sou: To think you'd forget such an important promise. You’re still the same as ever.

Ren: … Shut it.

Seira: Hey, you. Ren, right? Isn't it too early to give up after one failure or setback? No one knows what will happen in the future. 

Ren: …

Yamato: Seira-san, what would you do if you make the same mistake again?

Seira: Are you stupid? That's impossible.

Yamato: Even your words are prickly. I don’t have that confidence.

Kei: Well at MiKe Studio, it seems like the people here are all repeating the same mistakes no matter how much I preach to them. Despite that, I’m sure there are people that will support them, just like how Ren-kun is being supported by those two now. 

Nao: So, what are you going to do? Continue Astro Dive? Or quit?

Ren: I…

Minato: Whoa! What’s that sound?!

Sou: It sounds like something crashed. Maybe there was an accident outside?

Kei: This… no way...! MiKe Studio Garage

Momota: Wow~... Looks like a car crashed into the garage shutter. It's a mess!

Yamato: So the car and the shutter are both dead? That's bad.

Kei: Kazuki-san! What’s the meaning of this?

Kazuki: Oh? Oh. This is an accident!

Kei: I can tell that much just by looking at it! 

Minato: Wait, is this alright? I mean, are the people in the car people from the studio?

Seira: Unfortunately. Those three are divers affiliated with MiKe Studio. Kazuki-san is the one holding the broken steering wheel and examining the engine, Chihiro is the one that’s frozen in fear, and Hikaru is the one laughing like a broken doll.

Chihiro: … Is this heaven or hell? Oh, I can't go to heaven. This must be a hell that looks like MiKe Studio…

Hikaru: Ah hahahahaha, I was really scared! I thought I was going to piss myself.

Kazuki: Ha ha ha! Wear a diaper next time.

Kei: Kazuki-san, please pay for the shutter repairs. You broke the door the other day too.

Kazuki: Sorry. I had some trouble while I was out and there was a fight. I ran away, but it seems the brakes on my car gave out.

Kei: Sorry for interrupting. It looks like someone has come to pick you up, Amaya-kun.

Minato: That's... I want to do Astro Dive, so of course I'm interested.

Kei: Great. The ultimate goal is to get to the Triple G.

Sou: Huh? Triple G?

Seira: If you're studying Astro Dive, you should know about it, right? Grand Galaxy Gala, or Triple G for short. The most famous and popular broadcast program of Astro Dive.

The cowardice that snuck out of the school dormitory and ran here and there trying not to be seen by anyone. In the shadows of the city, in the mountains, on top of a tower. But that "cowardice", there's no doubt about it, is me. If it were so easy to cut it off and drop it into the ocean, there would be no need to suffer in the first place. ...I want to just disappear. If only I could disappear... I'd feel better...

Nao: Hey, if there's something on your mind, why don't you talk about it?

Nao: I have a cereal bar. You want it?

Ren: Th-Thank you.

Seira: Nao! Are you eating cereal bars instead of meals again? 

Nao: Ehe~

Seira: Eat proper food! Otherwise you'll end up like him.

THE LORE

The earth has been destroyed by a meteorite (the event is known as the Fall) and as a result the government has built Space Habitats (SH) where selected people can go live. In order to choose who can live in the SH, the government has been ranking humans based on their worth. People at the bottom of the ranking won't be able to go and are confined to live in conservation zones, but there's one chance to prove themselves as cherished members of society by becoming the top streamer on AstroDive. AstroDive is a groundbreaking distribution platform that uses satellites to enable distribution to the entire universe. Advertising revenue is set for each channel, and revenue is earned based on the number of video views. A portion of the advertising revenue is used to fund space development through "space distribution satellites," so the Ministry of Space Design actively supports Astro Dive, and popular divers are even allowed to be promoted to SH rank. However, most legitimate distribution stations are monopolized by people with SH rank B or higher, and there are only a few distribution stations, so people with lower ranks distribute through the illegal practice of hijacking the satellites (knows as AstroJacking). It's technically illegal, but the government allows it because they still get revenue. They do all this to be recognized at the "Grand Galaxy Gala" or Triple G. It's an irregularly held Astro Dive festival, it is the biggest event in the universe and attracts the most attention. The winner of Triple G is awarded the glory of being the best in the universe and the right to emigrate to other planets, and their SH rank is unconditionally promoted to A rank. No matter how popular you are with regular streaming, it is nearly impossible to be promoted to A rank, so it is effectively the only way for people with low SH ranks to escape Earth.

Each member, as a tag to show their SH rank, are required to wear ear cuffs called "Protective Cufflinks" or Procuffs for short on their left ear.

The color of the Procuff varies depending on the SH rank.
