I mean if you think about it Shinji and Noriko are completely different takes on the giant robot pilot, that said through the power of both being Gainax leads and being good kids they would probably get along. Noriko is the sporty upperclassmen who Shinji is a little jealous of if slightly weird, while Noriko encourages Shinji to train harder. Asuka is certainly all kinds of jealous of this. And has probably been Inazuma kicked in a training bout.

Magical Girl Angel Rey AKA Rei Ayanami
