I was DMing a party of 5. Our Rouge fell into some poisoned spikes and scraped its knee.

DM: Well… You are poisoned… Rouge:… F*** dude, Ailu (cleric) can u heal me??? Cleric:… Yeah sure. I roll to heal them… *rolls a 2* … DM: ……….. Well our cleric, well-known of her great medicine knowledge, sees the wound, oozing green with poison aaaaaand.. Touches it with her hand and gets poisoned too… Cleric: … Rouge:… Mechanic: … Barbarian: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

We ruined a level 20 grudge match against mortal enemies by never rolling higher than a 10 on anything, forcing our owner’s rogue to be brutally and pitifully murdered within 20 minutes.

5 straight crit fails are never needed… ever.

Me n a friend were doing a level 20 grudge match between two of our characters bc most of our group wasn’t able to meet due to Christmas travel. The two characters despise each other due to my character betraying the party in the campaign they came from. The 5 crit fails were each on different dice…..And they weren’t the only crit fails that night. My character’s death was a mercy killing bc my friend felt bad that I couldn’t do shit. FML

When done right, critical fails should be almost as much fun as critical successes.  They give your game more opportunities for drama, humor and teamwork heroics.  Plus we wouldn’t be able to appreciate the 20s as much without the occasional 1.

Weekly anatomy tip!

This week I tackle feet. I know how many of you asked for it.

It is hard topic indeed. It’s hard to draw nice looking character with feet that doesn’t look believable. 

A lot practice is needed. I just presented few ideas and now you have to put it to practice.
