Why are you posting things about Sayuki that are totally untrue? Sydney Stephens had an interpreter's visa in Japan which means that she could not legally work as a geisha at all, ever. What do you think the other geisha in Tokyo were going to do when an American started travelling by train by herself to normal restaurants (not tea-houses) in another district (Asakusa) and selling herself as a geisha online (from 3000 yen)when she could not legally be a geisha? It has nothing to do with Sayuki.
I’m sorry, but I have absolutely no idea who or what you’re talking about. The real name of the woman advertising herself as Sayuki is not Sydney Stephens, it’s Fiona Graham. She also never had an interpreter’s visa, but first came to Japan via an exchange programme and later went to university there.
Similarly to Liza Dalby, Fiona Graham wanted to do her doctoral thesis in social anthropology on Geisha and was allowed to study them in Asakusa in Tokyo. Initially, she had no plans on ever debuting as a Geisha, but wanted to just observe and write a book about it, but was allowed to debut as a trainee by her okaasan because she had taken lessons on the side for a while. And she also never finished her training period.
After over a year of ridiculous, disrespectful behaviour (if anyone wants the full story, read this), she was formally kicked out off Asakusa in 2011 already. Other Geisha who have lived and worked in Asakusa for decades have even had to speak out against her publicly. I’m not sure if I should mention any names, but I know of at least one. I have absolutely no idea where you got that wrong information from.
Edit: Apparently, the person who asked this question mixed up Fiona Graham with retired Geisha Kimichou, whose real name is Sydney Stephens. Kimichou debuted as a Geisha in the Omori Kaigan district in Tokyo, but retired because she was bullied by Fiona Graham, who couldn’t stand the fact that there was an actual, successful western Geisha working.
Graham has always advertised herself as the first and only western Geisha, which is not true, as there are accounts of Eastern European women working as Geisha from before WWII, and there are actually one Romanian, one Ukrainian and one Peruvian woman currently working as Geisha.
Kimichou debuted as a fully-fledged Geisha and underwent traditional training, other than Graham, who was allowed to debut as a trainee after taking lessons on the side, and who didn’t even intend to become a Geisha at first. Kimichou also retired by her own choice (although there were definitely factors who strongly influenced that decision), while Graham was literally kicked out off Asakusa. For more information on why Fiona Graham is a con-artist, and how she bullied Kimichou, read this, this and this.

Some grass orchids with a stray bamboo growing in the middle, symbolizing both feminine and masculine grace.
Part of my ongoing digital restoration of the Kaishien Gaden/Mustard Seed Garden Manual of Painting, a 400 year old book on Chinese ink painting that was later adapted by and added to by the Japanese. It's one of the earliest examples we have of mass produced color printing, and as such, lends itself perfectly to vector.

(OC) Sakakibara Yasumasa

Member of the Four Heavenly Kings, he's the only known Shadow User among the ranks of the Tokugawa. With his old Shamisem, "Fractured Heaven", he's able to evoke shadow hands through his music the same way that Oichi does (diffenrently from her though, he has full control over his powers).
Although being a successful general and a strong warrior, he doesn't seem to be very popular. The reason behind this could be that people has always paying more attention to his old friend and brother in arm Tadakatsu. But many speculates that is because his family has never served the Matsudaira/Tokugawa directly, being vassals to the Sakai Clan instead. He seems a bit annoyed by it, given all the battles he has been through and the efforts he has put into his work, but is generally less open to complain about it than Sakai Tadatsugu.
He seems to be obsessed over music and Nō theater and has good skills in both arts. Rumors say he has sell his soul to the Master of Hell, Enma, to give him such incredible skills combined to his powers. But the truth is that he just is a genuine music lover and spends too much time playing and singing lines to everybody's likings.
