Hey so yeah. This is why you shouldn’t vote third party in a competitive race. Oh, and Angela Green herself had actually dropped out of the race and endorsed Sinema, but people were so intent not to vote for one of the Evil Parties Who Are Exactly The Same that they voted for someone who wasn’t even running.

Considering the Indigo Girls are unknown to all the new college friends I haven't forced to listen to them yet, it is no longer a mandatory soundtrack in dorm rooms. I am working to change that though with my one friend who has good taste in music!

Every Record I Own - Day 588: Indigo Girls s/t
Is Indigo Girls’ “Closer to Fine” still a mandatory soundtrack to every college dorm room? Or did that phenomenon end with the turn of the century? All my friends from college had some profound connection to the song at the age where they were transitioning into adulthood. It’s like The Smiths or Bob Marley or (*gag*) Dave Matthews Band… once you’re out of your parent’s house and entrenched in campus life, you have to have at least a passing familiarity with a portion of Indigo Girls’ catalog.
I had a “Closer to Fine” cassingle during my college years. No idea where it came from and no idea where it went. Maybe it came with my admission packet. Maybe it’s some sort of talisman that faded into the ether when I left the campus perimeter. Either way, after graduation Indigo Girls were an act I only thought of when I was doing karaoke. But when I stumbled across this LP for $5 at Rough Trade NYC a few years back, I figured I could easily get five dollars-worth of memory-lane entertainment out of it.

But consider. Trusting someone enough you key in their fingerprint so they don't even have to memorize your code.
Letting someone hold your phone when it’s unlocked is a whole different level of trust.

If I enjoy writing about why I feel a certain way about something why shouldn't I do that? I like getting passionate over things I enjoy and I'm wordy so writing a paragraph or 3 or 5 is fun for me, debating is fun, learning is fun. Why you gotta judge my writing for existing? I enjoy researching, backing up my points, not every rant or thesis based argument has to be a 5 paragraph 3 page essay in MLA format for a class.
hayley williams got ripped to shreds over one misogynistic song to the point where she’s had to publicly personally apologize multiple times and has retired the song live and yet every male pop punk band is sitting on albums worth of songs that are misogynistic and violent towards women and they’re all just chillin…….. curious………. i wonder what the difference is…..

I followed the article you linked, and it does look like one of the authors of the song said that. Here's my issue with that: there were 7(+?) other authors of the song who have said nothing about that, and one of whom (who sings in the song) has even contradicted it. Calling Centuries a LGBTQAAI+ anthem makes it kind of a disappointing one considering one writer called it that, once, another author has contradicted it, and it makes no clear reference to the actual movement. There are better FOB songs to be considered as LGBTQAAI+ anthems, but the one time it was referenced as such and the lack of clarity in the lyrics makes calling Centuries a LGBTQAAI+ anthem feel almost as pandering-y as the June a couple of years ago where every company and their mother went rainbow for their advertising. Additionally, when searching specifically "centuries fall out boy trans" (to get as many relevant results as possible) it seems like the concert where the one writer said that was discussed and published without evidence by one article in 2017 by one site, and picked up by a few others that were less reputable in May of 2018. I'm not saying he didn't say that, I'm just saying that it's not backed up anywhere else that I could find.
I never said that centuries is about glorifying abuse, some people like marking during s*x, I don't kinkshame here.
My point with that song in my original reblog- and all the lyrics I mentioned, was exactly what I said in my tldr, Misery Buisness doesn't deserve to be held to a higher standard than male artists just because Haley Williams is a women.
My point with this reblog is that there are much better LGBTQAAI+ anthems for us to highlight sung by members of the community, instead of a song that if it is about a trans activist it is only so under several different layers of context and interpretation. While the one writer, Justin Tranter, is a member of the community himself and an amazing activist, he has also worked with artists that are more diverse than Fall Out Boy and could be highlighted more.

Hey I actually didn't remember writing this until I got a notification about another reboot for it 😂😂😂 I also don't use Tumblr much so idk when you responded but I did want to respond to you.
I actually haven't been active in the FOB fandom for about a year, but I full on panicked at your message because if that was the case I was going to edit my post and republish with an apology.
The lyrics are actually 'bruises on your thighs like my fingerprints', at least according to Genius.com where the song has been verified by Pete Wentz with commentary.
Tumblr media
I will definitely agree that Centuries is an anthem, but unfortunately I can't say that it is only a LGBTQAAI+ Anthem.
According to the annotations by Pete Wentz, the song is about the band striving to make an impression on the world, hence the title lyric, "you will remember me for centuries". I think it's actually been used a ton to promote sports games as well.
Personally, if you are looking for some LGBTQAAI+ anthems, I reccomend looking at Lily Allens- the song I'm thinking of is "Fuck You" which was in response to an attempted ban on gay marriage and I believe Lily Allens has been on record having affairs with women before. Another LGBTQAAI+ artist duo that I personally love is the Indigo Girls- Amy Ray and Emily Saliers. My favorite LGBT song from them is honestly probably Tangled Up In Blue, but they are more of a folk rock band than a pop punk band. They helped me come to terms with my own identity though and are great for road trips so I definitely reccomend checking them out!

Inappropriate, but wouldn't unprotected anal sex resulting in sperm left in said anus be the exact opposite of adopting a child.
Point 1. Purpose of sperm. In adoption, sperm still had to connect with an egg at some point. In sperm donation, sperm still connects with egg. In anus, sperm does not connect with egg.
Point 2. Eventual location of sperm. In adoption, sperm was at one point in uterus Sperm donation, egg-sperm combo was implanted in uterus. Anal sex, Sperm never reached uterus or even just vagina.
Point 3. Presence of baby. Adoption has baby. Donating sperm has potential baby. Anal sex has no baby.
Tldr, in anal sex, sperm goes into uncharted territories and no baby is made.
The only criticism I will accept is that the penis in this situation still had to enter a body like in adoption, but I didn't really want to write on masterbation or people ejected sperm onto another person body. These are also valid opposites of adoption though.
Donating sperm is the opposite of adopting a child

Same, definitely will be evaluating the parenting a bit closer.
And thanks to JK Rowling I'm also used to seperating authors from what they write. It was just. Startling. and you're the only belgariad fan outside of my dad that I interact with so wanted to share 💙
I- I found out bad information about David eddings. And Leigh. Idk how to react. Wanna know?
uh oh. yeah, tell me; lmao i’m pretty used to liking things by problematic creators, so i think i can handle it whatever it is

You can also just get a cheap dollar tree test! Nearly as accurate, but not as fancy as one from Walmart that costs 20 bucks. There's hundreds of different reasons your period could be late, and even if it is the scary one, you still have options. It is probably the stress, it could even just be a new friend you made whose cycle you are syncing up to (virtual friends don't count for that tho), or if it was your first time just the act of sex the first time itself can affect the body and delay your period.
Don't stress, you'll get through whatever happens.
Personally when I'm sexually active I always have like 5 cheap tests at home because your brain will always try and convince you it's a baby. 💙
Can your period be late because of stress? I'm 5 or 6 days late and it never happened before. I don't think the condom boke because we would've noticed. A friend said that she's always late when she is under a lot of stress and after it passes and she calms down it comes. I hope this is the reason because i'm getting really scared. I had a lot of online exams and i was indeed stressed so maybe that's why.... Did this ever happen to you or your followers?
Your period can be late for a multitude of reasons. If you’re that concerned, you can get a test or see a doctor. Usually, sod’s law means as soon as you do a test, your period will turn up (or that’s how I’ve experienced it!). Uteri are fickle and evil organs.

It's not the reaction that you paraphrased that has me raising my eyebrows in suspicion of the people who called her out. The actions mentioned in your post from 'hey you guys' to 'reconcile that' was an appropriate reaction. The bit /after/ that where she says she might never come back to her channel is what has me questioning what people said to her.
Jenna Marbles has always handled criticism well and changed her actions, she even called herself out on something that hadn't been brought up in the past- as clearly evidenced by her 45 minute apology and growth video after what happened to her fish.
Her apology was genuine and real and what a real ally would say. However if she is seriously considering quitting her career over things from 10 years ago, that tells me that she was also probably getting some serious hate over her actions. Based off of her past behavior, if it was truly just someone calling for her to address her old actions, she would have addressed them like in most of the video. But in the last couple minutes of her video her behavior deviates from the past in so far as she is considering quitting YouTube.
Imo, what I think happened is a few people got a bit attack dog with her on social media somewhere and took it too far. Yes call out public figures, but if they went so far as to make her want to quit her channel they probably went too far.
I want you to think about how harmful people on the internet can be and question if Jenna Marbles current behavior matches her past behavior and actions when she's been called out on different issues; and then question if maybe it wasn't the fact that her past actions were called out that has people upset, but the possibility that people got too aggressive as shown in past 'cancel' attempts for other people (such as in the James Charles vs Tati feud).
Nobody I've seen is questioning why she was called out, she definitely had some things to respond too, but if she's seriously considering quitting YouTube that tells me and others that people probably got aggressive and toxic with her as is the general case with cancel culture.
as sad as i am about jenna leaving youtube, some of y’alls reactions are deeply suspect. like to me her response was the perfect ally response to being called out: “hey you guys asked me to address these things i did, here they are w video evidence, they are bad/wrong/racist and i did them, i feel like i’ve grown since then but that doesn’t change that i did it and it was harmful, i’m taking the content down so it doesn’t hurt more people, here’s some more stuff no one called me out on that i did that i’m calling myself out on, it was bad/wrong/racist and doesn’t reflect the energy i want my content to reflect so i’m taking some time off while i figure out if i can reconcile that.” no excuses made, even though all/most of the content was about ten years old. but STILL y’all are on here talking about how she was “driven off youtube” and how she was “cancelled”?? making her into the victim? that’s almost the exact opposite energy as to what jenna herself had in the video, and crying that “people cancelled her” for asking her to own up to her mistakes has strong “sensitive snowflakes can’t take a joke these days” energy.
also i want you to think about how harmful it is to victimize a white woman for being called out on racism i really want you to think about it
