The Fae operated on a system that felt unnatural to Atticus, everything that they knew seemed to be the opposite and it was hard to get a read on them. He'd been so worried about any of them getting stuck there or punished for something that felt like a trap that he may have been a bit overbearing to Rio. He sat down next to Rio and rested his head on the others shoulder, they were the only two in the Cafeteria right now.. which was a relief, he didn't want an audience or even the rest of the Cabin witnessing this conversation.
"I feel this immense need to protect everyone I care about, that sometimes I can be an asshole about it. I'm sorry for saying that, I didn't mean it," he thought back to when he handcuffed Oliver and Remy to a radiator, though nothing had been that severe in awhile. He just didn't want to lose anyone in his close circle, and Rio had quickly become one of those people. "I know, I regret cutting that conversation off... it feels like there was no right choice. And I still don't know if it was Hera or the Queen who manipulated us into that decision..." He looked at the others bowl of cereal for a moment. "I have to say, I've always admired your bravery. You confronted not one but two Queens of the Fae court." Rio and Romeo were the two bravest people Atticus knew.
"Next time, I'll follow your lead."
The night before had been sent in his own cabin just some space to cool off after the ball. Letting someone die was never easy, buy they fully didn't have enough information to tell them what side to act on. Inaction and catching the killer even if she was not in control was the best way in his head. He wasn't really eating just absent-mindedly stirring the too-sweet cereal around in the bole of milk. The other's voice pulled him from his thoughts.
"you were scared and you did what you thought was best." He knew that was true even if being pulled away like that felt insulting, "But thank you, and Im sorry for getting that angry about it. in the moment I think just all of it and being called kid was a lot at once." He pushed the chair next to him out inviting the other to sit, "Just wanted to see what kind of ruler she was if she had truly deserved for us to just let it happen maybe the choice wouldn't sting. I know we didn't make an informed choice so I don't think we made the right one"

The Fae Ball had been... tense, it was the first time Atticus really fought with Rio and although they were able to work together still... he felt tense, and unsure how the son of Erebus felt about him in that moment. It was the following morning, Atticus needed to shower and change into something more comfortable. Maybe grab something to eat if Gabe was already serving breakfast.
He saw Rio, and looked down for a moment. It was better for them to have that conversation sooner rather than later. "Hey," he approached him at the empty table in the Dining Hall. "I know I apologized before but... wanted to say it out loud. I'm sorry for what I did. I know I can be really uptight and anxious," he sighed as he said that part. "but that doesn't matter." He didn't want to loose Rio or let this strain worsen.
"I do trust you, and how you do things. I hope you don't doubt that."

drinking was never something atticus particularly participated in, at least until he came to camp. an anxious fear of losing control over his body always kept him from accepting a glass of wine. that was until he was blinded by medusa and had the bacchus party right after, needing to relax a little. he still didn't drink much, usually only doing it when he was at one of the parties or sitting at the scry with ender. but this entire festival had never ending wine being poured for them and after the wine tasting atticus could feel himself getting a little flushed.
holding a half empty goblet, he found axel alone at one of the many tables and sat down besides his friend. "axel," he said with a drunken smile. "i'm so glad to see you here." he put the glass down, resting his head in his hand and he studied the son of hermes. "i always love hanging out with you." axel had become one of his closest friends in such a short period of time and when he was drunk, atticus tended to be more open with his thoughts.Ā

location: the harvest festival for: open to anyone who attended
was he tipsy?
the more important question was: could you blame him for being tipsy? when handsome satyrs and godlings kept refilling his cup, he wasn't gonna say no. and it tasted so damn good that his cup was ready to be refilled before axel knew what happened.
so he sat at a table, watching those far more social than him have a good time. while there was still much to understand about what happened this evening, there was no doubt that today was a good day.

it didn't completely come as a shock to atticus when evan asked him out on a date, it was pretty evident something was there and the younger man had already fucked him once before with romeo. still, he wasn't sure if it would just stay there but he said yes. he wasn't entirely what the two of them would be doing but he was excited to say the least. most of his day had been locked in one of the rooms of his cabin, the place he now reserved for his witchcraft and magical education. his grimoire and scrolls that he needed to transcribe and the book of potions he found from the future. although this wasn't where he saw himself going, atticus' search for knowledge is what led him to being so fixated on it.Ā
so lost in his reading, atticus almost lost track of time and realized he needed to get ready. running through the cabin, atticus jumped into his shower and then found some nice clothes to wear. a thick, knitted pullover sweater he made himself and a pair of high waisted brown slacks. all earth tones, how so much of his personal closet looked. grabbing his bag of holding and checking his reflection by the door to make sure his hair was perfect when he heard the door.Ā
"hey, evan" he mused with a smile when he caught the son of heracles checking his reflection in the window. "you look really handsome tonight."

Evan was nervous about his date with Atticus. When he was in Rome during the Olympics and he had his date with Romeo it was easier, there was so much to do in Rome itself and everything just seemed to roll into place. But having a date at camp and being the one to put it together, Evan was struggling with ideas, but that was until he remembered his field he found Melody in.
Keeping it light, despite the cold fall air starting to settle in, they had a warm night to enjoy, Evan was sporting a light sweater and some jeans when he made his way up to the Athena cabin, a couple knocks on the door before setting down a basket, in the reflection of the window, Evan quickly fixed up his hair, having to bend over to get his tall frame into the reflection of the glass. He was caught in this position when the door opened up and Evan stood up a bit straighter looking at the Godling of Athena, " Evening," He chimed, a handsome smile, " You look great tonight Atticus," He admitted, unsure if he should greet him with a hug, a kiss, a handshake, the nerves starting to settle in. atticus had never been a pet person, his step mother (from his original timeline) didn't like animals and thought they would make the house dirty. when he adopted olympia at the mall, he was drawn to her because she was the smallest from her litter and seemed to be off on her own while the other pups played. the two had a strong bond and she was incredibly well behaved, mirroring a lot of her owners behavior. archimedes, on the other hand, couldn't be more difficult. atticus understood he wans't just an owlett, he was a companion but he didn't make things easier. he didn't like to listen and often tried to defy atticus' orders.Ā
the owlett leaned its neck forward to get a closer look at silas before looking back at the young bear cub and staying put, perhaps afraid of it. 'be nice to him, archimedes.' atticus told him mentally before turning back to silas. "looks like he's behaving now that we have company," the owlett adjusted himself on atticus' shoulder, fluttering its wing as if to say hello to the older demigod. "he's usually a terror who doesn't like to listen to me." atticus took the opportunity to finish his carrots, much to archimedes' protest. atticus turned his attention to the bear cub who seemed to be enjoying his head and chin scratches from dante, giving him a smile. "hello, dante. it's a pleasure to meet you."

atĀ thisĀ point,Ā silasĀ hadĀ aĀ littleĀ zooĀ atĀ hisĀ cabinĀ &Ā truthĀ beĀ toldĀ -Ā heĀ didn'tĀ wantĀ itĀ anyĀ otherĀ way.Ā silasĀ feltĀ muchĀ moreĀ comfortableĀ inĀ theĀ companyĀ ofĀ animalsĀ ratherĀ thanĀ people.Ā whenĀ heĀ gotĀ backĀ toĀ hisĀ cabinĀ &Ā curiousĀ eyesĀ greetedĀ himĀ byĀ theĀ door,Ā lifeĀ wasĀ good.Ā notĀ thatĀ lifeĀ wasn'tĀ goodĀ inĀ general,Ā butĀ ..yeah.Ā itĀ wasĀ betterĀ likeĀ this.Ā heĀ adoredĀ themĀ all.Ā danteĀ wasĀ aĀ irreplaceableĀ additionĀ toĀ thatĀ zoo;Ā madeĀ fromĀ hisĀ heart'sĀ pleaĀ &Ā sentĀ toĀ aidĀ himĀ (maybeĀ healĀ hisĀ bleedingĀ heart,Ā too).Ā silasĀ couldn'tĀ sayĀ ifĀ itĀ workedĀ yet,Ā butĀ heĀ wouldĀ dieĀ forĀ theĀ cubĀ (bothĀ hisĀ cubs)Ā -Ā noĀ questionsĀ asked.
seeingĀ othersĀ withĀ theirĀ ownĀ littleĀ miraclesĀ broughtĀ aĀ warmthĀ toĀ hisĀ heart.Ā anĀ owlettĀ seemedĀ perfectĀ forĀ atticus.Ā "helloĀ archimedes."Ā heĀ offeredĀ aĀ littleĀ smile,Ā temptedĀ toĀ offerĀ someĀ ofĀ hisĀ foodĀ asĀ wellĀ -Ā heĀ ...wasĀ softĀ forĀ animals,Ā whatĀ couldĀ heĀ say?Ā butĀ thisĀ wasn'tĀ hisĀ petĀ toĀ spoil,Ā soĀ he'dĀ behave.Ā forĀ now.Ā "guessĀ i'mĀ luckyĀ myĀ hair'sĀ tooĀ shortĀ forĀ aĀ nest."Ā brushingĀ aĀ handĀ throughĀ saidĀ hairĀ toĀ ensureĀ itĀ feltĀ tooĀ shortĀ indeed,Ā heĀ couldn'tĀ helpĀ aĀ littleĀ chuckle.Ā heĀ thoughtĀ danteĀ demandingĀ toĀ sleepĀ inĀ hisĀ bedĀ everyĀ nightĀ wasĀ aĀ hassle,Ā though...Ā itĀ reallyĀ wasn't.
otherwiseĀ heĀ wasĀ well-behavedĀ ..forĀ aĀ bearĀ cub.Ā handĀ onĀ itsĀ head,Ā scritchingĀ gentlyĀ untilĀ theĀ littleĀ cubĀ raisedĀ itsĀ headĀ toĀ offerĀ itsĀ chin,Ā "meetĀ dante."Ā nobodyĀ inĀ campĀ knewĀ theĀ meaningĀ ofĀ thatĀ nameĀ forĀ him;Ā whatĀ theĀ cubĀ stoodĀ for,Ā maybeĀ oneĀ dayĀ he'dĀ share.Ā "dante,Ā that'sĀ atticus."Ā leaningĀ overĀ toĀ putĀ hisĀ foreheadĀ againstĀ theĀ cub's,Ā 'weĀ likeĀ himĀ aĀ lot.Ā beĀ nice, don't eat the bird, okay?'

It was nice to see this other side of Rio, someone who wasn't as rigid and rough but had a softer interior. Maybe that was from Oliver's influence or he simply just learned to open up to Atticus. Either way, the doctor was happy to see it. "Well, aren't you a romantic." he teased the younger man, fingers running through the buzzed hair that he must have gotten rid of just a week ago. It looked so good on him, he hoped the son of Erebus would keep this look for awhile. "Maybe we can tackle both issues together. I'm sure my father wants to meet everyone who is important to me." And Rio was very important to him.Ā
As their lips met for another kiss, Atticus gave a content smile. "I guess it makes sense to make up for all that time lost of me being oblivious," he said, leaning his head back for a moment as they spoke. "You know, I don't even think I asked Romeo to be my boyfriend. After he disappeared for those two weeks and we almost died in the invasion, I decided we were a thing." Atticus mused with another smile. "Children? Oh, you don't have to worry about that from me. I'm already struggling with Archimedes, I think I would lose my mind if I had to take care of a full child." Kids were never something he even considered, being gay and all made that a lot more difficult. Taking his boyfriends hand, Atticus guided him out of the room and out towards the others bike. "Ready whenever you are, handsome."

"Its just nice to see him happy," Rio had never really said it out loud, at least not to Atticus, but he blamed himself for what happened to Gabe in the other timeline. He had been overzealous and rushed to do something before he got all the facts. It worked for him thankfully. He let that thought pass focusing on what was here now. "If anything I can go in and flirt with Archie jealousy can be a hell of a motivator." It wasn't a bad plan but he was sure they would figure it out soon enough.
"I pay attention to the people I care about I know a lot more than you think." the light-hearted words almost whispered. He made it a point to watch and learn what snacks the other liked, how he stacked his books, what chair was his favorite to read in, and even what throw blanket he went for. Rio may liked his space but he also liked watching and observing. "I get that haven't even seen my mom yet strange that they are so different." A small blush on his cheeks as Atticus pointed out what he said. The smile on the other's face along with a kiss melted any excuse that was forming in his head. Yeah dating and it was fine. Rio never thought he would have one relationship let alone 3 maybe 4, "Figured i would have to say it can't wait around for a hint to be gathered." A small laugh, "Just don't ask for kids don't think I can handle another partner asking for babies only got so many buttles in the chamber."

there was so much to this timeline that atticus was still figuring out, he had a lot of the major differences mapped out in one of his many rooms of the athena cabin along with notes that he needed to piece together himself. mysterious figures they'd saved in this timeline that they never met in their own, battles that ended differently, and enemies who were lurking around the corner. was this a way for atticus to focus on something tangible instead of the changes in his own, personal life? perhaps. thinking about how this version of atticus seemed to be bolder, stronger, and steadfast would only give himself a complex that he couldn't even give a proper name to. so he focused on what he did best, resolve the real issues that he knew would eventually come back.
romeo had gone through a lot and he tried to be patient with his boyfriend and give him space when he pushed people away, atticus could see what the issue was. things seemed to be better now, romeo realized he needed the help of others instead of trying to rely on himself for everything. many hands make light work. one of the biggest change, however, in this timeline seemed to be that the zeus cabin was where everyone stayed. the athena cabin had felt empty and cold when he walked in but atticus slowly began to make it feel like home once again.
he'd been sitting by the fire of his library when he heard his boyfriends voice coming from down the hall. "i'm in the library," he called out, his voice seemed to carry outside the room and down the hall to his boyfriend. archimedes took the cue and flew in from the nearby window that he had open with what looked like a dead animal in his beak. "can you not eat that in here? you'll make a mess again." atticus sighed as his companion quickly ate its lunch up and fluttering its feathers.Ā

the summer air has finally shifted to the peaceful autumnal breeze. the son of skies can feel it coursing through his blood stream, a steady current in tune with the beating of his heart. he inhales and exhales the brisk air, letting the faint beams of sunlight dance over his skin. since arriving in this time line things have been...different, obviously, but more so for the prince of olympus. coming to terms with the ideals that they have of him and the expectations he's created for himself has been something hard to mesh, but he's finding a balance.
and he owes that to atticus, the man who has stayed by his side even when romeo was pushing the people he loves away. looking back on it, he can't believe how much of an idiot he had been. he's learned, thankfully, but it doesn't make the past any different. it's just brought them to this present, moving toward a future, together.
he enters the athena cabin without so much of a knock. in this time line, it seems that the zeus cabin was the one that everyone stayed in, or at least it feels bigger than it had before, less empty, less cold and uninviting. "atticus, are you here?" romeo calls out, letting his voice drift along the breeze that comes inside. "i have a question for you." he smiles, beginning to look around the cabin for his boyfriend.

It was hard to believe that not even half of the camp got to know Gabe,Ā their Gabe.Ā So many of the original batch of godlings who started with Atticus had come and gone, not even a third of them were left. Now they had another chance in this timeline and Atticus knew they'd do everything in their power to keep Gabe safe and content. "Me too," he said with a smile, it was nice to have the son of Hestia showing up at his cabin or the Infirmary when he hadn't seen Atticus for awhile and make sure the son of Athena had a real meal. "Are you trying to make him jealous or me?" Atticus teased Rio a little.
"Maybe we can see our parents together, we have to do it at some point." Atticus knew he'd need someone with him when he saw Nathaniel and he worried that Romeo would try and kill the man, knowing everything that his version of Nathaniel had done to to Atticus. Or maybe all of them could go, if he was going to try and build a relationship with this version of his father... he should know everyone who Atticus cared for and loved. "You're important to me, so you should be important to him. If he really cares."
Dating Rio Davenport would have never been something that Atticus could have predicted and yet it actually made a lot of sense. When they were thrust into the Chronus Trial and forced to come to terms with their own mortality, it really put things into perspective. Rio then got corrupted and as they purified him, that was when he realized there were feelings there he didn't know existed until then. "Well, I'm happy to be your boyfriend then, Rio." he leaned in for another kiss before chuckling. "Don't worry, I think I've got enough to worry about taking care of the entire camp." his hands snaked down to grab Rio's and guide him out of the room and outside to the others bike. "I think you owe me our first official date."

"Its just nice to see him happy," Rio had never really said it out loud, at least not to Atticus, but he blamed himself for what happened to Gabe in the other timeline. He had been overzealous and rushed to do something before he got all the facts. It worked for him thankfully. He let that thought pass focusing on what was here now. archimedes wasn't the first animal atticus had but this was so much more difficult than owning a pet. he was fiercly independent and far more adventurous than atticus would have liked, boldly approaching strangers to interact with them and atticus had to get onto him constantly to respect boundaries. olympia, his crupp pup, was far more timid and anxious than archimedes and was well behaved. still, atticus understood the difference. the owl was a companion, someone who had a psychic link to him.
just as he was about to continue scolding archimedes for acting in such a way like this, silas and what appeared to be a giant bear approached them. it didn't take a genius to figure out that this had to be his companion, it made sense considering silas was a fighter and who his father was. a bear was perfect for him, actually. "of course." he said as the child of kratos sat across from him and the young cub sat on the floor at the end of the table, relaxed now that it had the meat silas gave it. "silas, this is archimedes." he introduced the two, his owls eyes widened at the sight of the other demigod and extended its head to get a closer look. "you're lucky, this is him behaving. he tried making a nest out of a nymph's hair this morning."

silasĀ might'veĀ wishedĀ forĀ aĀ differentĀ animalĀ companion,Ā butĀ theĀ secondĀ theirĀ eyesĀ met,Ā he'dĀ beenĀ smittenĀ nonetheless.Ā he'dĀ beenĀ keepingĀ hisĀ kittenĀ mostlyĀ atĀ homeĀ dueĀ toĀ theĀ majorityĀ ofĀ camp'sĀ inhabitantsĀ regularlyĀ showingĀ fearĀ atĀ theĀ sightĀ ofĀ littleĀ sindra.Ā silasĀ didn'tĀ likeĀ it;Ā heĀ whole-heartedlyĀ believedĀ thatĀ nobodyĀ wasĀ bornĀ aĀ monster.Ā but,Ā heĀ knewĀ whatĀ rejectionĀ feltĀ like,Ā soĀ he'dĀ notĀ beenĀ exposingĀ theĀ littleĀ kittenĀ toĀ itĀ anymoreĀ &Ā leftĀ itĀ homeĀ withĀ tajĀ &Ā evilĀ overlordĀ whenĀ itĀ wasn'tĀ inĀ theĀ egg.
hisĀ cub,Ā though,Ā wentĀ whereĀ heĀ went.Ā heĀ couldn'tĀ stopĀ itĀ ifĀ heĀ tried,Ā so...Ā heĀ didn't.Ā maybeĀ heĀ shouldn'tĀ enforceĀ badĀ behavior,Ā butĀ wasĀ itĀ badĀ behaviorĀ whenĀ theĀ culprit'sĀ onlyĀ offenseĀ wasĀ beingĀ utterlyĀ adorable...?Ā noĀ way.Ā heĀ didn'tĀ seeĀ reasonĀ toĀ fightĀ it;Ā littleĀ danteĀ wasĀ aĀ godsentĀ &Ā heĀ embracedĀ it,Ā wholly.Ā scritchesĀ here,Ā rubsĀ thereĀ &Ā softĀ cooingĀ whenĀ nobodyĀ elseĀ wasĀ closeĀ byĀ toĀ hearĀ him.
withĀ theĀ newĀ livingĀ arrangements,Ā though,Ā silasĀ wasĀ eatingĀ atĀ theĀ diningĀ hallĀ aĀ littleĀ moreĀ frequently,Ā justĀ ...whileĀ heĀ gotĀ usedĀ toĀ theĀ changes,Ā whichĀ wasĀ whyĀ heĀ gotĀ toĀ witnessĀ atticusĀ strugglingĀ withĀ hisĀ littleĀ friend.Ā "c'mon,Ā let'sĀ goĀ sayĀ hi.Ā don'tĀ eatĀ it,Ā though.Ā it'sĀ aĀ friend,Ā okay?"Ā justĀ ..Ā inĀ case.Ā silasĀ grabbedĀ hisĀ bag,Ā plateĀ &Ā theĀ littleĀ treatĀ boxĀ heĀ broughtĀ forĀ danteĀ &Ā headedĀ over,Ā grinningĀ sheepishlyĀ asĀ heĀ approached,Ā "gotĀ roomĀ forĀ oneĀ an'Ā aĀ halfĀ more?"Ā settingĀ hisĀ plateĀ downĀ whileĀ heĀ waitedĀ forĀ atticus'Ā decision,Ā heĀ poppedĀ aĀ chunkĀ ofĀ meatĀ atĀ dante,Ā whoĀ caughtĀ itĀ easilyĀ &Ā thenĀ somewhatĀ floppedĀ backĀ toĀ sitĀ downĀ &Ā wait.Ā

"now that's something i would love to teach." rio had gone from someone who was too cagey to stick around the athena cabin if too many people were around or only came around if oliver was there to basically living with them. atticus had tried to respect his boundaries, even offering a seperate room for him and oliver if the son of erebus felt too overwhelmed. now they spent their evenings together around a tv and watching whatever movie that was picked while they ate dinner together that him and oliver cooked up.
"let's see how long it takes before they realize they are into each other." in their original timeline, gabe had been dead for months now and it was still something that haunted those who got to know him. he was the first death and his life was taken to protect the rest of the camp, how very fitting for a child of hestia. to see that not only was he alive but he played such a crucial role for the camp, atticus and the others wanted to ensure he lived in this timeline and was happy. that was where archie came in. his ears perked up, a smile started to form along the corners of his lips.Ā "oh rio davenport, you know me so well."Ā atticus was just a little ball of anxities.
an eyebrow cocked up at the mention of dating, that wasn't something the two of them had discussed. "i'm not quite ready to meet this version of nathaniel," this version of his father was the polar opposite of his own and it was hard to grasp. "but we're dating now?" the smile on his face only grew as he rested his forehead against the others. "didn't realize we were there yet. good to know." before rio could say something, atticus stole another kiss. this time it was more tender and slow.

"Well, then I will be the first student in the Welby School of Fibercrafts." the one good thing about the headband he never took off and his time spent in the Athena cabin is he was for sure smarter now. That and the fact that people actually cared about him and his well-being and took the time to make sure he was doing okay. "You will get the first sweater I make but I do not promise quality. " He leaned for a small kiss. He was growing more and more physically affectionate the longer he spent in actual relationships.
"At least he actually did it you know," he spoke as he looked at him eyes focused on the lips he had just kissed. "At least he got the hint pretty quickly instead of just having people flirt and not notice." The tease was light-hearted. He didn't care about how long it took them to get where they were he just cared that it stood the way it was. "I promise to go a reasonable speed and not take sharp turns keep both wheels on the ground and we can wear helmets to make sure your anxiety doesn't spike. You would also need to hold on to me pretty tight but that won't be a problem" He told him as the mischief in his eyes grew. "we can take a drive outside your dad's work so he can see that you're dating a bad boy now."

stress was atticus' middle name, he had so many things that he had to worry about around the camp that it felt like he never had a moment to unwind. a lot of that he put on himself but he was a busybody who needed to be useful, though he also liked to tell himself that the other demigods would have collapsed without him there to remind them things as simple as don't trust a fae or die in the midst of battle. without the constant stress, atticus worried he wouldn't be worried for whatever threat might be coming next. stress was what kept him alive.
taking the others hand, atticus was guided through the cabin and took everything in. spacious and felt more like a spa than anything else, he wondered how evan lived day to day in here though that was a question for another time. by the time they made their way up to the lions den, he saw a giant cub stirring awake before charging at evander. feeling his body go stiff, atticus froze until he realized she was jumping into his arms. "oh, hello melody." atticus extended his hand to give her a pet, rubbing behind her ear. "it's a pleasure to meet you."
atticus had just recently gotten his own companion, an owlet named archimedes who was proving to be more trouble than he would have expected. the bird was far more adventerous than atticus and had a tendency of breaking out of the cabin to come find him when he had things to do. "she's already so big," he commented, the idea of a massive lion riding with the greeks was impressive and would bring fear to whatever enemies came their way. "remind me to introduce you to archimedes later. surprised he isn't following me today"

Evan preferred both styles, he did love all of the open and airy space in his cabin. It was great for working out, the outdoor breezes and lack of clutter helping with that as well. But when Evan goes over to the Athena Cabin, it feels nice and cozy, warm and full of love, it honestly made Evan want to work out less and just cozy up with his friends and cuddle the night away. " We can totally use the hot spring later if you like," He was sure that Atticus could use the rest, seeing how much he worked daily for this camp, something that Evan could certainly do more of. At the request of seeing his new friend, Evan lit up, " Come on!" He held out his hand to the other to take, guiding Atticus through the garden down a small patch to a wooden gate. The gate opened into a small enclosure, half of it was grass and bushes, a tree and the other was sand, a small cave built into the small rock climbable mountain, that turned perfectly into a lion's den, like the cabin knew she would come. Melody was asleep in the cave, but stirred when she heard Evan enter. With a start, she ran out of the cave, looking rather ferocious, if she wasn't still a lion cub. Still, even as a child, she came up to Evan's thighs, much bigger than a regular cub, as she was already starting to grow into her full size. She launched herself to pounce on Evan, but as she got to him, Evan caught up, the pounce being a fake out to jumping in Evan's arms, where Evan held her with ease, " Hey Melli." He greeted, rubbing behind her ears with his free hand. " Atticus, this is Melody." He greeted, showing the lion to the other Godling. Melody leaned over, her head over Evan's shoulder but out to Atticus, nodding her head to him, but also giving him the opportunity to pet her if he wanted. " You doing good Melli," He asked, no response really given out loud as she spoke into his mind. She had a very lazy day, and was perfectly fine with that, Evan and Melody had a training session tonight that she was resting up for, " She's a Nemean Lion," He admitted, placing her down when Melody moved over to her water. " She's going to be bigger than both of us here soon."

open to anyone location the dining hall
When he did the prayer for his companion, Atticus had a few guesses of what it might be. An owl was one of them, or some kind of variant of an owl. He was right about it, though he didn't think it would be an owlet. When his new friend appeared in the library, Atticus quickly regretted it as the young bird immediately flew up to one of the higher floors of his library and it took the son of Athena over an hour to find him. He was trying to make a nest in the biographical section.Ā
A few days later and he found a space for his young companion, things seemed to be on the up and up but Archimedes wanted to follow Atticus everywhere he went. It wasn't as much of a problem when they were contained to his cabin but the baby owl seemed to find a way out every time Atticus left and found him within minutes. Today, Atticus was trying to eat some dinner at the dining hall when he heard the flapping of wings and Archie flew in through an open window and landed on his shoulder. "We talked about this, Archimedes." he scolded his owl who was interested in the godlings plate. "I made you an extremely healthy and delicious meal not even an hour ago, sir." he moved the plate away so one of the carrots wouldn't get in Archie's beak. "You do not need eat again."

This version of Atticus seemed far more⦠open with himself than he could have ever been. Having a father who was supportive of you seemed to have been enough for Atticus to come to terms with not only his sexuality but date multiple men. Including Jesse. āEven more surprising, I was the one who made the first move on you. I believe we kept looking at each other in the library and.. I bit the bullet. Who would have thought?ā
He gave a smile before taking a bite from one of the mozzarella sticks that heād ordered for himself before Jesse came in. āYeah, we did it for the first time on Halloween.ā Atticus had kept detailed diary entries, especially during his time of his life when he was head over heels for the son of Nyx who was just as charming and charismatic in this timeline. āYou were the first person I said I love you too, as well.āĀ
He finished chewing on the grilled cheese before he continued, squeezing the others hand in his own. āNo, I donāt need penance for you being a teenage boy.ā Atticus was more amused by this chapter in their lives. āItās okay, we were both young and didnāt fully know who we were at the time⦠I think we made up once we both came here. I at least got closure from you, unlike Remy who I was almost engaged to.āĀ
Atticus scooted over so heās closer to Jesse, his hand tentatively rested on the others chest for just a moment. āI like to believe the Fates have weaved our paths together in every timeline, an invisible string always tugging our hearts to one another.ā Atticus, as always, was a hopeless romantic.

jesse grinned, taking a few steps towards the bar and pouring two drinks before moving back in with surprisingly ease. he hadn't even sat down again before he downed one straight away and slid the other towards atticus with a brief cough.
he leaned his head sideways, frowning slightly but grinning at the same time. "I did...?" he chuckled, "well, damn, i'm kind of proud." he said, focusing on the virginity aspect before the rest hit him. at least... this jesse wasn't perfect. though he didn't know if breaking atticus' heart was any relief. maybe it was proof he was an asshole even in the better timeline.
huh. he took the other glass and downed it as well. "want me to punch myself for it?" he asked, a sigh leaving his lips as he reached for atticus' hand. "i would never--" a sigh, because how could he promise that, "it would've been a privilege to be your first love, and... i'm sorry for... whatever i did. you, any version of you, deserve better."
that said, he was still kind of proud, and a small grin graced his lips. "it's funny how we found each other again, and again."

Atticus had made his feelings about the Fae pretty clear, they were a nuisance with laws that seemed to only exist to entrap mortals for simply obeying the social norms they knew. Although he made a rule to try and remember every rule about the Fae, Atticus knew it was hard for others to remember everything⦠and how easily they could lure one into a false sense of security. That was why he typically tried avoiding any and all contact with them, they couldnāt pull one over on him if he was never in their eyesight. Right?
Still though, Atticus knew it was difficult for Jose and instead of talking down to him like some of the other demigods⦠he was just there to show some support. In whatever way that might be. What he didnāt expect was for the ex detective to kiss him. The son of Athena didnāt pull away, he knew Jose had been flirting with him for awhile now but had never been particularly good at flirting back; instead, the doctor would get flustered and then start rambling about some niche topic he thought was interesting. The feeling of that thick mustache tickling him, the taste of his lips, and the scent of his cologne⦠it just made him want more.Ā
āMore than okay,ā he said with a smile, wanting to kiss Jose once more but thought heād try and slow it down. āThat was⦠nice, really nice actually.ā he said before Jose saw the gift in his hand and felt a little flustered as he fiddled with it in his hand. āOh, no. Itās for you, actually.ā he said as he lifted it so Jose could see it for himself. āI know you were down so I thought Iād make you a sweater to try and lift your spirits.ā There he could see what looked like an orange tabby cat that was asleep on it. āYouāve talked about Garfield a lot and well, your domain and all.. I hope itās okay.ā

Okay, so he's leaning back on old habits and putting up his walls after being marked as an enemy of the fae. JosƩ has had to live in survival mode for so long that allowing an oversight, a false sense of security, to royally fuck him over has sent him into a bit of a tailspin. He doesn't regret the decision he made that landed him in this position, but he feels like he was set up unfairly, and he feels rather stupid that he was even put in that position to begin with. People keep trying to talk to him about it...or worse, talk down to him about it. Nothing makes JosƩ bristle more than someone talking to him like he's a child, especially when they're half his age. He'll figure it out somehow...just like he always has. And part of working it out is getting high as fuck in his cabin after spending the day reading up on the fae. He just needs something else to think about. That's when he hears someone at his cabin door, which has him raising an eyebrow in suspicion. JosƩ doesn't remember having made plans with anyone. Did he forget? Is this someone coming to pull him into some stupid magical bullshit again? He tentatively opens the door, grin spreading across his face when he sees Atticus. Then he realizes that Atticus is one of the few people who has seen just how affected by this he actually is, and probably came to check up on him. The thought makes him want to kiss him...as a distraction, and maybe a tiny surge of affection. "I've been waiting for this moment, no more interruptions," he says, usual flirty tone to his voice, and pulls Atticus in by his shirt. JosƩ thinks this is the best idea he's had in a while as he presses his lips against Atticus.' When he returns the kiss JosƩ lifts a hand to caress his cheek, feeling his stubble on his fingertips. Once the kiss ends, JosƩ just stares up at Atticus with a dopey grin. He knew he was a good kisser. God, he's always right, isn't he? How does he do it? He bites his lip and shakes his head with a little laugh, looking down at his feet, a blush coloring his cheeks. "Uh, yea, just had to do it."
"I hope that was okay," JosĆ© MarĆa says, looking back up at Atticus with a little tilt of his head, curls falling onto his forehead. "Had to make my move otherwise I probably never would've gotten the chance to kiss you, darling."
It's then that he notices Atticus is holding something...a sweatshirt of some kind? "What you got there, Atticus? You brought a change of clothes? Planning to get dirty? Naughty boy."
