I present the finished replica of Moriarty’s painting of Joan Watson.

The sketch took 2 hours because I suck at proportions, while the painting took 5 hours. Maybe I can touch it up once it finishes drying, but I really enjoyed painting this.

Strange–the wind and breeze makes the weather chilly, but once you stop for a second outside, the sun starts to beat down your back.

Comfort.

The color of black tea with milk.

I haven’t tried many autumn scents yet, but I guess cinnamon would count.

The flu/cold.

It is raining outside, but not pouring. I have the windows open, and classes are done for the day. I make a cup of Earl Grey, read a book, and listen to the rain fall on the sidewalk.

17th October - Outside or inside?

Inside and cozy.

18th October - Sunny autumn days or rainy autumn days?

Rainy autumn days

19th October - Pumpkin spice lattes or hot chocolate?

Pumpkin spice lattes

20th October - What is your usual autumn outfit?

A solid color sweater, black jean-leggings, black boots, and a beige trenchcoat. Accessories: my glasses, a cute mask, my watch, and a clear hair claw.

21st October - Falling rain or a crackling fireplace?

Falling rain is my favorite white noise.

The whirring of the science buildings remind me of cicadas.

Day 2: Do you have any autumn traditions?

Eating at least one pumpkin flavored food or drink.

Day 3: What is a good memory you have from autumn?

The long, arduous, cold evening and nights spent in marching band with friends and classmates. The thrill of a performance and breathing cold, frigid air.

What is your favorite thing about Autumn?

Autumn is my favorite season, so I have any things to love about it: 

– How the weather gets slightly chilly, enough for long, beautiful trench coats

– Celebrating my birthday

–The palette of the season

–Halloween and Thanksgiving

–Black Friday Nostalgia: The sleepless days spent many years ago lining up in stores for the next biggest deal

–Pumpkin anything is finally in season

–The overall chill vibe: the sense of a new beginning with the start of school year, and the feeling of everyone gearing up for the winter holidays.

My professor is hilarious which makes the Buddha’s story even more interesting than it already is. 
(I love how he describes Siddhartha’s reaction to realizing human suffering exists as a nervous breakdown but who wouldn’t do that discovering that for the first time)

Stop putting pressure on fanfiction writers to finish their fics.

We live in times of troubles and grief – I personally lost 5 family members and friends in the past 17 months, couldn’t attend most of their funerals because I live in another city, and as a result haven’t written a word since May 2020.

A very quick glance around will tell you my situation is the rule, not the exception.

I don’t care how much you enjoy the story and wish to see it finished, or that the writer promised in author’s note to see the story to its end. I don’t care how much the story helps you get through your own grief and struggles. Harassing writers is horrendous behaviour and is more likely to drive them out of their fandom than to get them to come back.

If you like an author’s work, you will respect them and be patient while they process their own situation, even if it takes more time than you wished.

Some Goodnotes notes from today’s lecture on Buddhism. I’m still torn between what form of notes to use, and if I need to stick to one mode for all of my classes.

Forgive me if this isn’t the correct use of the Cornell note-taking style.

It’s a nice feeling to be in a physical class again with an enthusiastic professor.

Chapter 2 of Chemistry.

First ever study-related post to celebrate the new school year.

I’m still experimenting between taking handwritten or iPad notes, but I wanted to keep it simple for textbook notes. I’ve been guilty in the past for focusing heavily on aesthetics, so I wanted to just do basic color coding. Black is for main notes, dark blue for titles/subtitles, sky blue for examples/interesting information, and green for memorization.

Any constructive criticism for my posts is greatly appreciated. Apologies for the lighting.

I’ve started watching House recently–up to season 2. The friendship between Wilson and House is hilarious in an already very funny/snarky show.

Different Sherlock portrayals as cats. Because I can.

House is the uncontrollable crazy cat.

Robert Downey Jr. cat is the flaunting type.

BBC Sherlock is the brooding cat.

Elementary Sherlock is the cuddly one.

Canon Sherlock is an awesome YouTube keyboard cat that Watson is always impressed by.

Currently reading: Wwooooo boi. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kessey for class, really interesting and way out of the typical story I prefer. Eternally reading the Elementary fanfic Sign of Three by YourFairyGodmother because good vibes are very nice! Also been reading a lot of League of Legends lore stories, especially anything that has even a shred of Jhin (@leafenclaw that ask was me btw I accidently was anonymous bc I didn't log in lol). While Riot has a lot of music and art advertising their game, I really wish they could flesh out the champsions more, but oh well.

Currently watching: Chinese dramas with my dad, specifically Boss and Me. Always rewatching the Diabolical Kind clips on Youtube because because. Trailers of Good Omens because I can't watch it currently : (

Craving: Sushi. That. Isn't. Microwaved. I don't wanna take chances but I want my sashimi. (will drowning it in wasabi make it safe? idk) The months of false security has fallen and I just want to feel some certainty right now. I want to gather my friends, get boba, popcorn, and binge Elementary and watch LaLaLand.
