On Zoro and sacrifice?
So I read an interesting fic recently that gave me thoughts about Zoro as a character and how him being willing to sacrifice everything for Luffy was part of that.
And anyway, in the fic it had him basically try to take all the crews pain several different times and halfway through when Luffy and the rest of the crew were staging intervention after intervention it finally hit me that in what he was doing to protect his crew he was unknowingly causing them issues that he didn't know about.
For one thing, he didn't trust his crew. Like straight up. And it was trauma related but it still made their interactions seems somewhat bitter because he'd never let them handle things they could handle on their own, which in turn stunted the rest of the crews growth and trust.
Another thing is he kept fighting even when down, which works all well and good until he went and collapsed on the battlefield. MULTIPLE times. (A lesson mind you Luffy himself paid in blood). Even when he had the opportunity to rest he didn't.
He didn't tell his crew any information either and left them to dangerous situations where he almost died multiple times.
And anyway, my original point was that if things in this fic had gone on like this, if the intervention hadn't have happened, then something could have gone seriously wrong and it made me wonder what Luffy would have done to try and 'fix' this. Becuase usually his problems are related to his crew being suicidal and wanting to leave, usually they aren't about a crew member being suicidal and wanting to stay.
So ehh, Idk, I feel like it would def mess him up mentally to have zoro paragon of loyalty be too loyal in a bad and dangerous way.

A video game where the whole concept is that you're in a city, and you've got a pressure washer. You can pressure wash anything. Just pick a random object, wall, car, pavement, statue, go "hmm, I wonder what colour that thing used to be?" and then you just run the washer over it, slowly and neatly and not missing a spot, very calm, very soothing, very relaxing. If you aim it at people, they get mad at you. If you aim it on squirrels or very small dogs they explode. People don't like that either. If enough people get mad at you, the cops will start chasing you. You're fine for as long as they don't catch you. If you find a good hiding spot, they give up looking for you eventually. You can pull up a manhole cover and hide in the sewer. Chilling there for a bit. Pressure washing the walls. Pssshooooom.

— The All Blue will always be doubted by many. But no answer lies in words, only in the sea. When the time comes, sail for the Grand Line.
