Why is the atmosphere important?
The atmosphere is important because it supports the exchange of life-sustaining gases, filters sunlight, regulates temperature and even plays a role in the water cycle. The two most important gases in our atmosphere are oxygen and carbon dioxide.

What is the troposphere?
The troposphere is the lowest layer of the earth’s atmosphere. Most of the mass (about 75-80%) of the atmosphere is in the troposphere. Most types of clouds are found in the troposphere, and almost all weather occurs within this layer. Humans live in this layer.
