girl help i think i need to wipe a pivotal character from my novel

for the walking dead, all of my apocalypse original characters will have been part of their own micro-community that originated from a college population.

for the 100, the characters will be from one of the later-falling stations (or delinquents if required for the plot).

i can apply them well into any apocalyptic universe and use their pre-series character arcs to fit them into modern universes as well

for brevity, you can focus on the big six:

adrian castillo: the commander + the supply manager. excellent social skills that help him motivate those around him to pursue a common goal. individual + family.

talia grayson: the survivor + the creator. well-versed in navigating the natural world and strategizing; making execution of big ideas possible. individual + family.

leo castillo: the scout + the explorer. an adrenaline junkie who is always down for an adventure and wants to understand the world on a deeper level. individual + family.

maya rose morrison: the engineer + the ruler. a highly driven individual who wants to lead her people to salvation but is hindered by her own hubris. individual + family.

wesley devan: the medic. values connection and community above all; takes solace in the fact that his (relative) medical expertise make him valuable, needed, and wanted. individual + family.

everett kim: the cook + the botonist. a laid-back individual who lacks motivation, but still shows up for his friends. becomes less and less nihilistic with time and more resentful. individual + family.

WHEN NUCLEAR WARFARE REDUCES AMERICA TO A PRIMITIVE STATE,  a young group of survivors must combine their skills in order to stay alive. their love, loyalty, and humanity will be tested by both each other and their dark new reality.

the main setting is westwoods university and its surrounding areas. the main group of characters will be students, faculty, or visitors from this university. scenery references can be found here.

they do not know what’s going on in their country or in the rest of the world. they have lost contact (internet, wifi, etc) with everyone.

the nuclear war was fought over dwindling resources on a dying earth. see here for events that lead up to the war. they will be present throughout the series as well.

genre: dystopian adventure dramedy (drama-comedy hybrid).
