Hello everyone!

I’m just checking in and saying hi. I do apologise that there hasn’t been much activity as of late, but I hope things will pick up soon. I’ve been busy on my main blog mostly but I’ll try and be back active on here once things do pick up again! I do have some opens available and of course I’m keen to progress the main story!

Thanks to all of you who are still here and honestly I look forward to having fun with all of you in the future! This blog ain’t dead.. it’ll wake up soon again!

Bowen notices a flyer on the pin up board in Onett’s library. The orange paper drew his attention easily.

“For a truly spooky, scary Halloween, come to Threed. You’ll be in for the fright of your life...”

“Huh...”

Things were definitely getting a lot stranger around Onett. With the rumours of Frank having slashed up the shack, there was a lot of different things that could have happened. So, deciding to investigate, she headed on over to the City Hall and then paused as she saw a boy being tossed out of City Hall before sitting on the steps.

Maybe she could use him to get some information.

“Hey, you were here to ask the Mayor something, weren’t ya?” Linette asked, purple eyes staring straight at him. “Guess you musta pissed him off pretty good or something of the sort to get bodily thrown out like that.”

Regardless, she got closer.

“I heard the shack was locked up ‘cause of Frank. It might behoove us to talk to him before we try talking to the mayor about it. Or something.” Spinning a wooden pole in her hand, she gripped it and tapped it against the ground. “Might get us some information on why he sliced the place up in the first place. Or something. Doesn’t sound like him, in all honesty, but the hell do I know.”

She then looked at him a bit more properly.

“…..Oh, it’s you, Bowen. The baseball kid. Well, either way, you and me. Talk to the Sharks. Let’s get going.”

And she turned away…. before looking back.

“……..So, are you going to sit there all day or come with me?”

His mind was racing in thoughts... and anxiety. How the heck was he going to get through the shack and off to Giant Step if he can't ask the Mayor about the key?

The train of thought was broken by the sound of a female voice.

"E..eh?"

Eyes opened, he looked up. Damn, she was right at that point of light where she couldn't be identified. Regardless, he still answered. "I.. never got the chance to talk to the Mayor. His bodyguard cop tossed me out before I can even get a word in.

Still, he listened. "Yeah.. I heard one of the entertainers say it was Frank.." That pole spinning, hes seen that before. The way this woman was talking, she was suggesting to go talk to Frank directly. It made sense, it was probably the only option left, but Frank was heavily guarded by his friends, because, well, he was the leader of the Sharks!

But what other option was there?

Who knows if it really was the Sharks that trashed it, this way they can get some answers.

Finally, he was able to take a better look at her.. and when she said his name, he finally realised who he's been talking to.

"Oh! Linette!" Of course, he's known her for, well, quite a long time. "Well.. baseball.. football.. ehhh not important. You.. wanna go talk to the Sharks?"

Wait, she wants him to come with her?

Two people were better than one, after all.

"Ah.. alright! We.. might have to make a bit of noise to get to him."

Since he imagined they won't just let them see Frank so easily.

He's jumping to his feet, ready to go along. He knew where they were. The arcade was never the same since they 'invaded' it.

Would that change today?

“Personally, if you want some interesting reading, look up the incidents happening near Mt. Itoi during the early 1900′s and late 1980′s.” Considering he seems to not be entirely aware of what is going on outside, she did suppose that giving a little nudge in the right direction was a good idea before he say… ends up having to have a fist fight with someone’s crotchety grandma in the street.

Sure, she had her ways of guessing what someone was looking for, which in this case could be narrowed down to a series of well documented incidents back in those time frames that did seem pretty similar to what was happening right now.

However, considering who might be manipulated by Giygas, either directly or indirectly could interfere, playing things off as casual seemed like a wise strategy.

Admittedly, The crazy stuff didn’t start happening until after she got there, so the road wasn’t blocked off at the time and as such, she had been stuck with finding other means of lodging until the road opened.

"....Huh... haven't looked that one up yet." Mt. Itoi. Funny, that sounds familiar.. yet he's never heard of such a place before. He'll have to reach out an encyclopedia for that one. "Mt Itoi, Mt Itoi." He spoke, mostly to himself. "What happened over there, if you don't mind me asking?"

He was going to find out anyway, especially when he got to a section on Mt. Itoi. Oh yeah, it was in there alright, a summit out in one of the far, far reaches of Eagleland, probably out in the sticks!

There was information there that correlated with what this woman was saying. Something about an incident in the early 1900s about a dark shadow covering a small town, in Eagleland. A couple going missing, with only the male returning two years later. His wife was never seen or heard from again.

This was already strange.. what could have happened then? Could be anything, but what if it was a strange occurrence?

And, did it have anything to do with what was going on right now?

So I’ve been thinking. Part of the original plan was to actually have TWO verses for this blog. There’s the main verse, which will have the main stories, plot, which people can partake in when the chances and calls come out. BUT, there will also be a ‘multiverse’ which will mostly come about from the ‘open’ threads I put out. This allows for greater opportunity for those to participate, who either are just wanting to join in and have fun, or would rather interact, but not be a part of the main story, as well as for other reasons, etc etc.

These will be tagged accordingly. The Main verse has it’s own tag. The multiverse tag will be coming soon!

“Looking for anything specific?” Interjected a young lady with long brown hair and glasses who had happened to have observed the other’s behavior. As for herself, she did have her own reasons for being in the area… namely tracking a “falling star” that had crashed down in the area not that long ago.

However, she didn’t have much luck in regards to information considering that not only was the area taped off and the area was swarming with police at the time she arrived, whatever was in the “meteorite” had long since departed.

Hopefully traveling all the way from Winters wasn’t going to be a total bust though… since things had gotten rather strange since she arrived.

“Mmm?” Eyes looked up, hearing the voice of a female, noticing the young woman with the long brown hair and glasses. It was a fair question, especially when, well, he was currently surrounded by certain books. Eagleland history, world history, UFOs, aliens. He must look like a right nut.

Really he was trying to be careful with what he did know, after all, there was the thought that anyone could be working for Giygas, but that was just initial thinking.

It would be interesting how people could end up coming here from outside Onett, considering the road to Twoson was blocked off, but Bowen didn’t know that.

“Ah, I’m just.. doing a bit of research is all, just a casual thing. I like looking up the paranormal.. it’s.. interesting to see what’s out there!”

Kind of an excuse, even if he was genuinely curious. If there was anything he could find on past events, it might help him prepare better!

SHARK BAIT

Well, Bowen’s going to have to get to the bottom of this mess. If you block his path, he’ll find a way around it. Well, try to anyway. For example if the path to Giant Step is locked, he’ll just have to get the key to get in.

Which.. wasn’t exactly going to be easy.

Case in point.

City Hall is a very daunting place. One would actually be surprised a building of this grandeur exists in Onett. He remembers coming here on tours when he was in school, but on official business, this was... really something else.

In the process of his thinking, he believed the person best equipped to help him was Onett’s Mayor. If there was anyone who could ensure the shack could be unlocked, it would be them.

But that meant... having to actually see them.

Go through these.. really big double doors.. and yes, the Mayor did have a receptionist, didn't they?

“Excuse me. I need to see the Mayor.

"The Mayor's office is on the second floor." The secretary remarks, noting the steps ahead. "You need an appointment before you visit."

"... I don't have an appointment."

"Then I'm going to have to stop you if you try to see the Mayor."

“....”

Bowen looked left... right.. and then made a dash for it! Bolting right past the receptionist (who was trying to verbally stop him), and flying right up those stairs! Through another set of doors!

...Only to be greeted by a cop, in the Mayor’s office.

"Hey! You can't just barge in here like this! The Mayor is very busy busting his butt with all the troubles in town, like the Sharks and the meteorite." There's a pause, as the cop sizes up the blonde. "Wait a minute.. are you the guy who's trying to form the Sharks?!" He doesn't even give Bowen time to reply. "Wa ho, you've got to be joking. Scram, kid!"

"Wait! No, you misunderstand! I need to-"

Nope, he's being physically manhandled...

Down the stairs..

Out of the Mayor's office..

..In fact.. right out of City Hall!

What a spectacle to be thrown out like that!

He landed right out front... a pause before getting up and dusting himself off. Man, that cop was rough!

But after that.. he felt all he could do for the moment was head down the steps, sitting down the bottom step, watching the scene around him.

Man.

What was he to do now?

FENCES AND RED TAPE

Well, after his research in the local library.. as well as a trip to the drug store.. and the local burger joint, Bowen headed west, down the other dirt path. This was exciting, all the way up to the end and....

...What the hell?

Not only is there a building blocking the way he's meant to go, there's a fence going through, no way past! There's also a sign saying 'DON'T ENTER'.

"Can I help you, sir?"

A voice prompted Bowen to turn around, greeted by a man dressed in.. well, he looked like some sort of peculiar clown, white face paint, funny hair.. someone from a show, clearly.

"What's.. going on here. What's all this?"

“Oh, this is my shack. My Travelling Entertainers’ Shack. I share it with my buddy. He’s out at the shops at the moment.”

“Yeah, travelling, looks fixed to me. But why is it here?! I need to get through, I gotta get to Giant Step!”

“Ohhh, you want to visit that big footprint we’ve heard about?”

“Yes! Yes that’s it! Can I go through?”

“Well.. umm... no..”

“Wh..what? Why not?”

“I’m afraid I cannot get in... nor can my working buddy.”

“You.. cannot get in?”

"The shack has been locked by someone from City Hall, so we cannot even get inside. The reason they have taken that decision is because apparently some... rascal named Frank, has apparently come in and ransacked it. Him and his band of... Sharks." The man sighed. "Such a drag. We cannot even change our clothes. The hotel is so expensive, we cannot afford the luxury. We don't even know what we're going to do.."

“....You gotta be kidding me...”

Bowen can’t get to Giant Step, because there’s this shack in the way, fenced off.. and City Hall locked it because apparently the Sharks trashed it?

Seriously! There’s a matter of urgency here!

“...I’ll be back.”

He’s having none of this. He’s really having none of this. He must get to Giant Step at all costs! 

The world is at stake!

Where was he going... to City Hall of course!

A MYSTERIOUS TREASURE

One of the things Bowen decided to do, before checking out Giant Step, was to check out something a certain individual had told him last night.

So he decided to go to Lyre X Ajjerat’s place, all the way up the hill.

Funny that, the man was actually waiting for him.

"I'm doing this cause I trust you, Bowen. First, let's go down to the basement."

By basement he means the big hole in the middle of the living room, with a ladder going all the way down.

"Ah.. I can tell by the look on your face. You really don't want to hang out, do you? That's all right. After all, we aren't even related. I know you think I'm bullshitting but.. maybe I'll surprise you!"

...Off he goes, down the ladder and out of sight.

“Haaah.. it’s only cause I’ve got stuff to do..” But, oh well, this shouldn’t take long.. might as well follow him down.

Oh boy, this is... a very, very long way down!

The rope ladder didn't seem too secure.. but he still made it all that way down. This is.. quite a cave! He's been digging quite a bit.. hasn't he? It goes on for quite a stretch. At least it's lit.. barely.

....This is very long.. for one man’s digging.

They came to what looked like a U-shaped turn, before Lyre stopped him.

"So, Bowen... I've found proof of a great treasure.. an actual huge haul. I'll show you, but you'll be the only one.. come on.."

So in they go to the last little bit... thankfully the end wasn't as long.

...It was a statue.. quite a tall, large statue... all in gold. Though, it really needed a good shine. But still. where the hell did it come from?

“Ooooh... this is... this is interesting!”

How the hell did Lyre find it?!

And why did it emit this weird aura?

"If this is a sign what lies below, I just need a little time. My destiny, is to find and dig up all the buried treasure. I'll keep eating garlic and working out to help strengthen myself. Oooh, I can't wait."

And then he turned to the blonde.

"You can go home now. You're getting in the way of my work. You may start to get greedy thoughts."

“Wha... really? You bring me down here just to show me the statue for 30 seconds and now you kick me out?!?”

“...I’m gonna stop coming by here...”

He’s shaking his head.. but he decides to leave the ‘treasure hunter’ alone. This, means going alll the way back down the cave, through those long hallways.. and then climb back UP the ridiculous rope ladder all the way up.. and it was a long way up... then head out and continue onto his journey.

Okay enough excuses, go check out a few things.. especially Giant Step.. he’s sure he remembers that from somewhere. Might go check out the library..

Right, let’s see what he can find at the drug store. Funny, the Onett Drug Store sells more than just medication. They sell a whole heap of things!

Take out his ATM card, withdraw a whole heap of cash. Let’s see.

That cheap bracelet could help. He might get that.

(Defence stat increased by 5!)

Oooh.. he’s noticing something on the shelf there.

An old, wooden ‘Tee Ball’ bat. Hmm. okay. Should fare better than the gouged one he has. Might see if he can drop that off home to make room for this one.

So he buys it too.

(Offence stat increased by 8!)

Oh this does feel nice. This should work fine for the moment!

Bowen’s over at the Onett Library. He’s just borrowed a map guide, which has the map to Onett and other towns. Very convenient! Now he’s over just doing a bit of reading. He’s kind of looking to see if there’s any written text on Giygas.

...And getting nowhere...

As Bowen stepped out of the door of his own house, he can see the sun had indeed arose. How it basked his world in such colour, such light. The grass of Onett was always a vibrant green, wasn’t it?

That was when... he noticed something up in the sky.. spinning... descending?

A bird? A plane?

A... man in a suit and top hat?

He landed daintily, immediately turning to Bowen. His beard was clearly visible.

“Pictures taken instantaneously!” He greets, with a deep, british accent. “I am a photographic genius, if I do say so myself.” He’s already setting up... a really old time camera. Do they even make those anymore? "Right. Get ready for an instant memory!" His hand is on the button. "Look at the camera.. ready? Say... ‘fuzzy pickles’!"

“Oh.. uhhh..” Bowen didn’t know this was a thing.. but, well, might as well pose for it, even if it was at the front of his own home. “Fuzzy.. pickles!” He remarks, presenting a peace sign as his picture was taken.

“Wow! What a great photograph!” The cameraman remarks, gleefully. “It will always bring back the fondest of memories.”

And putting the camera away, the photographer began spinning again.. up into the sky.. disappearing.. just like that!

“....Huh....

That... that was weird.

Anyway, onto the adventure!

PROLOGUE PART 4 - YOU’RE ON YOUR OWN NOW

Honestly it's a good thing Don and Doug live right next door to Bowen. It really makes it easier to drop them off home. Might as well come in while they're at it.. well, he was more invited in.

The moment he stepped through the door, oh this place felt off. Really bad, dysfunctional vibes...

The Dunverlin Residence really was a weird place.

To be expected, both parents were up.. and the mother was the first to spot them.

“Where in sam hill have you boys been?!? I’m going to have to think of a suitable punishment for the both of you!”

“No need..” Spoke the man on the couch, the Dunverlin patriarch.

“Mr. Chuuno, I apologise that my sons have troubled you so much.” He added, before turning to said sons in question. “Both of you are going to get it now!”

“!!!”

“!!!”

Both of them in unison, bolted upstairs... as if that would save them. Their father, Aloysius, still followed them up anyway, along the way picking up what looked like... one of those old school canes they used in...

Uh oh...

Keep in mind, Don and Doug are both grown men.

Bowen had to close his eyes to save himself from all the WHACKing noises he could hear upstairs... and this went on for... what.. about a minute?

After a bit of silence, Aloysius came down, putting the cane aside, before approaching Bowen.

"By the way, I would be happy if you left sometime soon. I am very tired of your family living next door. You see, we have loaned your father a considerable amount of money. I would say in excess of a hundred thousand dollars! Well.. maybe.. I guess it really could have been less, but because of that loan, my family and I are living in... squalor!"

“Wait... excuse me?”

That was... quite rude... very rude actually. Now the mother, Lardna, decides to jump in.

"My husband is much too lenient with the children. Even at their age they need good, solid discipline." She sighed through her nose. "Oh well, nice guys finish last. That's just the story of our life.. I'm exhausted of it."

That was when she noticed the tiny companion flying around Bowen... or rather.. because of what she thought it was, the reaction was, well, very, very adverse!

“OH MY GOD! I think it’s a dung beetle! It’s going to cause a mess all over the house! I’ll deal with it! Die little pest! Go to hell!”

“WAIT!!!!”

WHACK! “Ah!” .... BZZZZZZzzzzzz

And Buzz Buzz hit the floor.

“BUZZ BUZZ!”

Bowen was in shock, fear, panic, rushing over to the tiny being, struggling on the floor. Oh goodness he didn’t look good at all. That was... well.. quite a punch! Who knew Lardna could do that!

"Agh!" The being gasped. "I was.. m.. much weaker.. than I thought.. it seems.. you will have to begin your adventure... alone..." Buzz Buzz winced. "See.... you...."

"No! Buzz Buzz! You can make it! I know Lifeup! You'll be okay!"

The being raised one tiny arm, to stop the blonde.

“I have to tell you something.. please... listen...”

Bowen was looking so sad at the poor creature.

"To defeat..Giygas... your own power... must unite.. with the Earth's..... The Earth... will then channel your power... and multiply it... There are... eight... points... you must visit. Make these places.. your own..."

“Right.. okay.. unite power with the Earth.. visit eight spots.. and make them mine? O..okay.."

"These eight points... are known as... 'Sanctuaries'.... One of them... is near Onett... It is called... Giant... Step... Go there... first..."

"Okay.. go to Giant Step.. right..."

"Yes... you... Bowen... are a very intelligent... young man... and.. ACK! Ow! The.. the pain!! Oh! Everything is... getting dark.."

Buzz Buzz is gasping, but is reaching for an item that appears... far larger than oneself! Such appeared right out of thin air.

"Before I... pass on... I must.. give you this... It is called... the Sound.. Stone.. The eight.. 'Sanctuaries' you visit.. will each have a melody... of their own... the Sound.. Stone.. will record all of them, one... by.. one.. into the stone..."

"...Okay... so.. use the Sound Stone to record all the melodies.. will it make one big melody?"

"Y...yes... it.. should... you seem to know.. what you're doing... that is good. It... it looks like the sun... might be coming up now.. outside... not that it matters to me.. when I'm... fading.. fast..."

Another cringe from the tiny beast.

"Goodbye... Bowen.. and good... luck.... ACK!"

And with one last gasp... Buzz Buzz, was gone...

In the silence, Bowen continued to stare at the little, puny lifeless body, clutching the Sound Stone in his hands.. what an interesting item for sure.

“...Are you actually talking to that damn toilet fly? Are you some kind of crazy freak or something?”

“I knew he was on another level of strange. The whole family must be loony.”

That, silently, was when Bowen stood up, clutching the Sound Stone before putting it in his pocket, turning to the two.

“Maybe you lot should move out if you’re so weirded out by us. Then again you’re the real psychos around here. You and Don... got nothing against Doug tho.”

That was when he started heading for the door.

“Least he’ll go places... fucking assholes..”

And with that, he was out!

He wasn't going to go on his adventure yet. He had to go home first. Really just to get his backpack. He was going to need it, for one. His mom knew not to keep him, she could sense, see, that he was going to go on a big adventure. Michy too.

Both of them at least gave him warm hugs before he left.

"Don't forget to call me from time to time, okay? My special little hero."

"Heh.. thanks Mom.. I'll be sure to."

Mom’s hug lasted longer than usual, but maybe it was because she knew he was going to be away for a long, long time.

And he was.

Because now, the real adventure begins.

Whether he was prepared for it or not.

The fate of the Earth, of everything, of the future, all rested on his shoulders.

An adventure that may well take him all over the world.

What will he see? What will he do? Who will he meet? Who are the other three individuals prophecised?

All will be revealed, in time, from the moment he heads out again, into the real world...

From now on, you'll be fighting enemies sent by Giygas.... as well as humans who have evil thoughts! They'll definitely make trouble for you during your adventure! You might find some animals end up increasingly violent due to Giygas' influence over the evil in their minds. It is the truth, so please, listen!"

...Okay, now would be a good time to drop off Don and Doug home, before one of those things comes attacking again!
