Pre-war Cooper and Lucy are Roger and Anita in my brain. Also Cooper was the one that ran over Wilzig’s foot but Lucy doesn’t know that lmfao

Burn It Down - Chapter 2
Word count: 6,228
Summary:
“You gotta wait to find their softness. Get them to forget you're there. Could take some time, but you have to be patient and outlast their suspicion. Gotta wait and let them give you the perfect moment.”
His gloves slid along her arms, cupping her right elbow to lift it. Together, they lined up the shot. Her breathing synced with his.
She pulled the trigger.
Preview:
The moment their rotating tangle of limbs came to a stop, she immediately swung a knee up and over his torso. She wrapped her hands around the thick, whirled skin of his throat and leaned all of her weight into it.
Lucy wanted to see fear in his eyes, make him hurt again. Instead, he regarded her with something like fiendish amusement. She tried to scream, but it came out a guttural, animalistic shriek.
The bounty hunter shot a hand out to wrap around her ponytail, yanking to the side as he bucked his hips and sent them both rolling down the rest of the hill, coming to a rest as Dogmeat bound over to them, barking. Beside her, the bounty hunter was laughing between coughing fits.
“Just chock full o’ surprises, aren't you, sweetheart?”

Lucy and the Ghoul really are Beauty and the Beast, huh? A handsome man who once lived in luxury is cursed to live as a hideous creature? Check. A beautiful curious woman who is warned not to be deceived by appearances? Check. Oh, and do you remember why Beauty left her small village, ventured into the dangerous forest and ended up in the Beast's castle? She had to find her dad.
It's such a modern spin on the trope. Because the Ghoul doesn't welcome her lavishly with food on the table and clothes in the closet. No, he puts her to the test. And yet she doesn't yield. If anything, her humanity shines through and illuminates his in turn.
