Doing my best to learn Latin, and having fun with it. LLSPI is awesome. Also some Archeology stuff, possibly. My main blog is @anaundying.

Felix sit mensis inflationis! Happy pride month everyone! (Apologies for the, probably, horrible Latin phrasing.)

i found another really good G-rated pompeii graffito. a normal polite beginning of letters was "if you're well, that's good, I'm well". this woman wrote on a wall:
To Alexander from Livia. If you're well, I don't care very much. If you're dead, I'm rightly glad.

Salve! Diarium tuum interretiale mihi placet! Gaudeo Linguam Latinam a te temptari. Licetne mihi dicere tibi pauca verba ad Latinitatem tuam pertinentia? Neque crudelis neque asper ero. Vale.
Scilicet, quaeso! Gaudium tuum honor meus est.

Causa examinis studeo et paucas litteras Ciceronis transferro. Interdum Cicero agnus bellulus incertusque est.
Because of my exam, I am making an effort and translating a few letters of Cicero. Sometimes he is an adorable insecure lamb.

hey many people say studying classics in university is useless and that you wont get a job. is this true? because i really want to study classics
First of all: I'm not the best person to ask, since I am still studying and have not had any first hand experience in the job market in the field. I have been told it's hard, but that doesn't mean it's impossible. I think it depends on what you want to go for after Uni, where you are, and even how University works there (I, for example, am not doing a general classics degree, which isn't even offered here, but a double bachelor in latin and archeology).
Here we seem to always have a shortage of teachers, so if you do latin and history or something entirely different in a teacher program, you probably don't need to worry.
Personally, I had the same worries, and still do sometimes, which is why I studied something else first, even though it has always been my dream to study archeology, but that did not work out for me, so after a few semesters of trying to figure things out, I decided to study what makes me happy (which I don't think is ever completely useless). I would love to work as an archeologist later, but I also have some other ideas I could pursue based on my degree.
Again, I'm not the best person to ask, and if anyone has any advice, please put it in the notes.
