"Wake up!" You hear as you wake up. Today was like any other, a boring day in your town. Turning to your older sister, a tall 21 year old girl who still lives with their parents, she glares down at you "It's 7:15! You'll be late for school!" She yells into your face, spittle getting on your cheeks.

A familiar smell fills your nostrils, the smell of breakfast, you get up and go to the bathroom to brush your teeth and take a shower. Your hair covers your eyes, you move them to the side as you catch a glimps of yourself in the mirror. Your hair falls down to your shoulders looking like a mop was on your head, your eyes glisten with some sense of innocence, most of it gone as highschool tears at your mind. You were 17 but short for your age only standing at around 5'03".

Your sister calls for you from the dining room, you quickly put on your favorite shirt, a racoon with the text "Spirit animal" under, and a pair of shorts, you don't bother styling your hair.

In the dining room you sit down and look at your plate, an omellete with poorly made hashbrowns, your sister isn't the best cook but it was the best you could get since your parents were currently at work. You go to the fridge to see if you can find anything to drink, there's a couple bottles of beer, basic cooking ingredients, a slice of cake from a friend's birthday, and a jug of juice. You pour yourself some juice and eat your breakfast.

After finishing your breakfast you drink your juice to wash out the taste, "Today is the best day ever." You think to yourself as you pick up your satchel and walk to school.

On your way to school you meet up with a couple of friends, Jakob a jock who plays for any sport, Jake your best friend who's a tad bit on the gay side, Kate a sweet cheerleader who you developed a crush on when you helped her in math and Matty a downer emo who you put up with, mostly because her art is amazing.

"So what's in the agenda?" Jake asks.

"I dunno, sleep" You answer with a yawn, you stayed up all night playing video games with Matty.

"How about a cold shower to wake shorty up?" Jakob asks looking down at you putting his massive hand in your head.

"No! You always put the water ice cold!" You exclaim as you walk through the front door.

Matty follows you to your first class, Latin. Most people take classes that they can use later like Spanish or Mandarin but for whatever reason you chose Latin, you can't even remember why you chose Latin.

Matty sat in the back of the class, you sit next to her and go on your phone. The first thing you see is the porn from last night, you quickly close the tab as Matty looks over at you, "Why do you still forget to close the tab?" She Asks

"Look I get super tired when I finish got it?" You say, your face red

The first bell rings and people start to file into their classes, people start to talk to one another as your teacher tries to get their attention. Matty screams at the top of her lungs, people stop to look at her. The teacher gets their attention "Thank you Matty" He says as people start to get their supplies out. You get out a large notebook full of notes and sketches, your name was scribbled out and replaced with "Shorty".

After your snooze fest of a class finishes you walk to the gymnasium for P.E, Jakob sprints to the Gym and slides on the newly waxed floor.

"Doesn't that hurt?" You ask him.

"Nope!" Jakob says back, his voice bouncing off the walls

You go to the locker rooms and change into a pair of baggy trackpants. Walking into the gym you start to stretch while Jakob shows off for the ladies. You sigh and roll your eyes at the scene, Kate walks up to you "Hey! How's it going?" She asks

"Much better now that you're here." You say trying your best to flirt with her, the scene is pathetic. Jakob walks behind you and picks you up "I've got the Shorty!" He exclaims with a hearty laugh.

"Put me the fuck down!" You exclaim looking at the floor, your acrophobia kicking in, you grip onto Jakob's arms tightly.

"Put them down! They have acrophobia!" Kate hits Jakob with a dainty punch across the chest. Jakob acts hurt and drops you.

You stand up "Fuckin' hell, that hurt" You say to yourself as class starts.

After class came lunch, you gather with your friends and talk. Mostly doing voices for fun.

"This gawd damned liberal sits next to me thinking he's equal!" You yell in a southern accent.

"Now let's talk about Shorty and Matty over here" Jakob says taking a bite of his burger.

The thought of you and Matty together both disgusted and interested you. She was nice, in a way.. But she is evil in a way. You look over at Matty and notice she was looking at you "Well shit, she likes me." You think to yourself.

Lunch ends and it's time for your last class, Biology, your specialty, you sit next to Kate and smile softly. Class started and you immediately remember the homework your forgot to turn in "Fuck." you say out loud.

Kate looks at you "What happened?"

"Forgot my homework." You answer staring blankly into space. The teacher walks around the class collecting homework.

"Where's your homework?" The teacher asks.

"I left it at home, I completed it though!" You say panicked.

"Fine, I'll give you one more day." They say back.

You let out a sigh and continue to work on drawings, a pig with a wolf mask, you chuckle and show Kate the picture.

"Hey, nice." She smiles.

You smile and are colored smitten, Kate simply giving you a compliment fills you feelings of love and you wanted to admit your love to her.

Class ends and you run home to quickly eat lunch and lay in your bed thinking about Kate, you fall asleep having lewd dreams of Kate.
