Just wanted to share some fun half Abyssian pictures. The first two photos are of the bothers we adopted them from a breeder. (Finn and Sisko about 1 year old now) Mommy is a purebred Abyssian. (3rd photo) She escaped and had fun with a mystery tom. Much to the breeders disappointment. But for us a perfect match. Bonus litter picture of the other two siblings we didn't adopt next to a baby Finn.

Opinions on the surinamese flat frog?

I absolutely love them... until the eggs and froglets in the skin thing.

Yes, this is the frog that absorbs its eggs into pockets in the skin on its back. The tadpoles go through the tadpole stage in these pockets. They then emerge from these holes/skin pockets as froglets.

today at work a coworker warned me that my patient’s owner let us know her cat is homophobic, meaning he tends to attack gay people violently on sight, which I thought was a joke. but that cat saw me and may have been the angriest cat I’ve ever worked with and DID in fact bite me through Kevlar gloves because he hated me so much

slow down for your disabled friends. thats like a bare minimum kindness that we shouldnt have to ask for. i love that youre so quirky and walking fast is a cool personality trait to you and all that but i bet you can count your physically disabled friends on less than one hand

Am I wrong to be disappointed in the gettys queer history exhibit? I adored seeing everything and everyone don't get me wrong, but there was one photograph for intersex people. It was someone's genitals. The info board only said they didn't know the name of the subject and it was likely taken for medical purposes. People were gathering in that corner and gawking. My only representation in the queer art history space was a nonconsentual picture of genitals. That was it. The only representation they had for intersex history was a waist down picture of someone's genitals. Not our activism, not Hermaphrodites with Attitude, not our lives, not our faces, not our books, not the celebrities or athletes with variations, not our myths or statues or ancient art, just genitals. I left the event early, because I couldn't stop looking at people and knowing that if I talked to them about being intersex all they would see would be genitals, because I knew that after the whole exhibit they would all only know me as genitals.

I think cringe culture and fakeclaiming in system spaces have managed to set lots of people back, and caused unnecessary self restraint when talking about their own experiences.

here's to:

introjects that like to talk about their source

introjects who don't want to and/or can't source separate

systems with lots of fictives, especially of popular and newer sources, where someone could accuse you of "you just want to roleplay/you just want blorbo" (fakeclaiming sucks!)

systems with lots of introjects, but no or few fictives

systems that vary wildly from one headmate to another, in handwriting, symptom manifestation of other disorders, preferences, voice intonation, and so on and so forth

systems that seem cold, detached, uncaring due to dissociation or internal conflicts of interests

systems that regularly use and update or decorate pluralkit, simply plural, tupperbox etc. there's nothing wrong in keeping track of your system in whatever detail feels right to you, and with a dozen of heart banners if you feel like it! you do you!

systems who are so overt and different from one headmate to the other that their switches, co-consciousness etc is "obvious". it can get very scary, although most people won't notice or will brush it off as a personal quirk. I promise they're not out to get you! (if you do want some people to know about your switches and whatnot though, do tell them! they might not notice at first but can learn to pick up on it if you give them context and time)

systems who are so covert on the other hand, that they doubt themselves and go in denial spirals. it absolutely sucks when you can't even trust yourself about your own experiences! you're not less of a system if you don't do sign offs, if you have no obvious outward sign etc.

shout out to any system who was made to feel different, an outcast, or like they don't fit in system spaces. there are lots of people out there who want to hear your story, I'm only one of those!!
