Hey uh iirc didn't you have an au where there's a pack of hisuian zoroark in the subway or something? If so could you point me to the tag (if any) used for posts about that au? Thanks.
Sure! That's the Wild Man and Wild Miss AU, where Ingo takes basically the entire population of Hisuian Zoroark to the future with him and Akari.

So wait, how do they get Zorua Akari home? She's in Sinnoh in Stasis and both Twins think that she is Ingo's Kid now and Ingo accidentally left her in Hisui to Freeze to Death. Will Chandalure help clear the air or something else?
Akari wakes back up from stasis herself once she's reached the time Ingo returns home. The twins never know she went into stasis, Ingo had already been chucked back into present day when Akari made that deal.
Now, Ingo and Emmet think Akari is dead, but while Ingo was missing, Zorua Akari ALSO went "missing," leaving Emmet to assume that she ran away to look for Ingo. So right now, Ingo and Emmet are going to be looking for Akari the Ghost.
There's gonna be a bit of confusion, of course. Akari ran off, but she has memories of her past life so she should have KNOWN Ingo was going to return— after all, she's the one who made it happen! Did she perhaps believe... that Ingo would return to the right time, but still be in Sinnoh? Is Akari perhaps in Sinnoh waiting for Ingo's return??

Oh no does emmet think ingo murdered akari???
No??? Why would Emmet think that?
Akari still tells Ingo and Emmet that she froze to death, regardless of the reason she passed out. She got locked in a freezer. Hypothermia might not be her official cause of death, but feeling cold would be the last thing she remembers before she dies, so that's how she would describe her death. Also, she won't go into the details of her death. They don't know about the freezer or how she got stuck in there, or anything of the sort. It's why the theory they have is that she died because of weather.

Hey did you ever get around to making a master list 🤔
I sorta made a tag list post a while back, but that's obviously outdated. I might get around to making a new one eventually!

Aaahhh! I missed your birthday!! Hap Birth!
I won't ask how old you are (that's Bad Internet Etiquette), but I will ask this: are you anywhere near where you wanted/expected to be in life when you were younger? If so, how does it feel? If not, are you at least satisfied/on the way there, if not considering yourself better off?
When I was younger I was convinced I wouldn't even live past 18, which I understand is a very morbid way to answer this ask but it's the honest truth. Now I'm in college getting my degree so... Yeah I'd say I'm pretty satisfied. If I could, I'd go back in time to tell my younger self to relax and that everything was going to be okay. :)

I know you're not posting bc you're busy and all but I keep checking your blog for updates bc I'm obsessed with your content and I need help. It's been like a day and I'm already going insane bc you're gone. 🥺
Hope your birthday went well and you had fun. 🎁 Congratulations on surviving another year.
(Please come back soon. I am running out of enrichment in my enclosure. No rush tho, I'll just scuttle around like a joltik trying to figure out how to get to the batteries in a drawer and eventually just flop on the ground bc I missed the knob on the way down and then contemplate the meaning of life.)
But seriously I hope whatever you're doing, you're having a good time.
I love asks like these y'all are fucking funny. Thank you for the birthday wishes, you regular schedule of enrichment will be back soon! *Pets you like a rattata.*

There's something especially unfortunate about the Modern Day Ghost AU, with the Walk-in Freezer. I'm a technician who works on commercial-scale walk-ins for places like hotels and restaurants. By walking around to try to keep her body-heat up, she was most likely using up a lot of the air in that freezer. If you don't do a lot of physical activity and if you just focus on shielding yourself from the ground and huddling, you can last a day in there- but the air supply is VERY finite.
Tumblr media
Jesus CHRIST.
I guess Akari passed out because of oxygen deprivation rather than exhaustion... I can't tell whether that's better or worse.
In any case this is extremely informative, and good to know in case I ever do a Stupid in the future. The likelihood of me getting locked in a commercial walk-in freezer is very low, but never zero. Everyone say thank you to the technician anon!

With the resurgence of Kubo Content ("resurgence" - it's, like, a small handful of asks), I wonder: what would Kubo think of modern ghost Akari? Any of them - faked death, rescued by Celebi, plain ran away, amnesia, etc - all of them, even. Or, a secret happy(ish) thing - an au where Kubo got to grow up relatively happy (maybe someone intervened earlier, maybe the parents were actually decent people in this dimension - like how Batman's parenting skills change with every iteration - IDK, he just got to be a bit happier), so he gets to play Cool Uncle to Emmet's Fun Uncle and Ingo's Protective Dad Uncle.
I like to think Adult Kubo would be pretty excited to play uncle to Akari, but also be like. Aware, sorta, that this girl is PROBABLY reincarnated like him. He would certainly be the first to figure it out and likely the first to hear the entirety of Akari's story, although he'd keep quiet about it until she's comfortable revealing it to anyone who ISN'T themselves a reincarnation.
I think Ingo and Emmet would be a little confused by Kubo treating Akari like an actual human child until they find out OH SHE'S A DEAD HUMAN CHILD, KUBO DID YOU KNOW????

God this was so cute but I still remember later that day how devastated I was because the entire platter for my shabu shabu was covered in hundreds of cabbage worms. I was SO upset.
Gonna make Shabu Shabu tonight and I’m just thinking about Akari and Ingo huddled together around a pot with a fire going on under the starry night sky. Ingo got a mysterious plate of thinly cut meat from somewhere and refuses to tell Akari, who hasn’t eaten meat since she got to Hisui, where he got it.
(He hunted it. Akari is pretty sure she knows, but doesn’t question it because she does NOT want to think about hunting POKÉMON. Also she’s hungry. Sue her.)
This is the point where Ingo realizes that he’s emotionally adopted her. He hasn’t shared a meal like this with another human being so comfortably in a long time. Akari falls asleep by the fire and Ingo tucks her in and KNOWS it’s too late to back out now.

In Modern Day Ghost, Ingo still gets Hisuied, but Akari finds a way to go after him and disguises herself as a human 10 year old. She's gotten better at her illusions at this point, and can now make herself look almost exactly as she did before she died, although her hair is still more gray than it is black. She also still has trouble emulating people past the age of 10.
Ingo still gets amnesia. Akari doesn't really know how to deal with that without possibly fucking Ingo up, like, psychologically, so she doesn't say anything to him and just waits for the opportunity to throw him at a modern doctor and therapist.
Around the end of the whole Hisui event, Akari drags Ingo to the temple and summons Arceus. She's like hey could you bring us home? And Arceus is like er. I can only do that with one of you.
And, Akari, being a literal ghost, realizes she's functionally immortal, so is like. Oh send Ingo then, lol, easy decision.
And Ingo, once again not knowing Akari's thought process as usual, is horrified by her quick decision. This is a child who just casually threw her chance at getting home away for him. What about her family?
And Akari's like oh don't worry about it, you ARE my family! Anyways, we'll see each other again in the future! Love you Dad, bye!
And then Ingo gets thrown back to Unova before he can say anything.
With her job done, Akari pats herself on the back. Arceus, watching this, comes to the sudden realization that Akari didn't actually make an informed decision just now. Because it doesn't seem to really hit her that she just doomed herself to waiting for two whole centuries before she can ever see her loved ones, her dad, again. There is a distinct possibility she won't even remember Ingo's face or voice by the time she rolls back to the modern day.
Arceus is like... Well, I can't send another person back right now, time and space is already EXTREMELY fragile and I need to get working on repairing this mess. Uhhh.
Hey Akari. How do you feel about being in stasis? It's just like time travel, sorta, you'll fall asleep and wake up back in your own time. Except you'll have to make the journey from here to Unova yourself.
Akari's like hmmm. Sounds cool! Okay let's do that!
Back in Modern Day Unova, Ingo is being reunited with his brother and SOBBING because his DAUGHTER AKARI got LEFT BEHIND, she's probably DEAD NOW—
And Emmet, remembering their Zorua Akari, who froze to death and was a weirdly big fan of Ingo the first time they met, is like UH. YOUR DAUGHTER WHO??
Wrong conclusions are being made.

Do you think Kubo would get along well with Rei and/or Akari ?
Yes! Adult Kubo in Hisui steals Big Brother status, he instinctually wants to protect people, especially children, and Akari/Rei are certainly two young children in need of support. Child Kubo TRIES to big brother them when he meets them but often ends up coming off as some adorable kid with possibly a kiddy crush or something.

Does Akari from out world still look like Dawn?
Because imagine Dawn's fight with Cynthia gets broadcasted (that happened in the anime, after all) an Ingo and Emmett see. And now they think they found Akari's family.
Or maybe it's a rerun of an interview Dawn did, and she's been missing already (because PLA shenanigans) and the twins think they got the missing Dawn and would have to break the news to her mom
(Also, do you go by Game!Dawn, Anime!Dawn or Manga!Dawn as pendant to Akari?)
I!!! Actually have a draft rn about the Hisui arc. Dawn doesn't go missing! It's still Akari!!!
In fact, Akari goes through several hoops to land in Hisui SPECIFICALLY because Ingo went missing!
Sooo, no, they don't think Akari is Dawn. Even IF Dawn went missing, Akari remembers her past life and outright said she didn't have family or anyone looking for her, and they're rather sure she isn't lying about that. So they wouldn't suspect she's Dawn.
As for game/anime/manga, I tend towards game honestly. But still, my hc is usually just Akari being another version of Dawn, so still not the exact same person. I also go back and forth with her being the protagonist of DPP or Rowan's assistant.

Now I imagine anyone else other than Ingo opening Akari's pokeball like:
"POKEBALL, GO!!" and out comes a fucking child lmao.
It's probably Emmet lol
Emmet would have fun doing that as a prank on people lmao like he'll come up to a depot agent and be like wanna meet Ingo's new little one? Holding up a pokéball, smiling innocently. And they're like oh, he's got a new Pokémon? Yeah I'd love to meet them!
Emmet:
Tumblr media
He still doesn't like battle with her or anything, he agrees with Ingo that it just feels... wrong. But he DOES find the whole "child jumping out a pokéball" thing very funny and likes fucking with people.

Just read through your Kubo tag and. So much potential for misunderstandings. What do you think would happen if Kubo had only run away, instead of faking his death? I'm imagining the parents hiding that anything had happened, and Emmet and Ingo only finding out years later that Kubo wasn't just living a Perfectly Normal™ life all this time.
(and they wouldn't have such an early wakeup call to make them revise their opinion of him...)
The parents definitely wouldn't even report him missing until at least a week later. By then they would have scrubbed the entire house of evidence.
If this is Celebi Saves Kubo, Ingo and Emmet are going to be. SO fucked up by what they see when they get to the ranger station. Because again, Kubo is severely injured. Seriously he has belt welts all over his back, and the skin around his throat is purple.
With the whole time travel aspect, the Rangers ascertain that this is what Kubo looked liked when he went missing. And with Kubo telling them the day he ran away, they now know that the parents kept quiet about Kubo's disappearance for a WHILE before they sent in the missing children's report.
This sort of realization hits the "twins" like a fucking truck. Kubo wasn't the favorite. Kubo didn't escape their shitty parents' abuse. In fact, he got the worst of it. And the evidence is staring them right in the face.

I got the mental image of Ingo and Emmett keeping those reporters/historians away from Zorua Akari with a broom. Either pushing them away or wacking them. Or both haha
Same mental image but Ingo and Emmet wearing old granny babushka outfits

I imagine the twins have that horror theory where Akari lived in an Orphanage of Fear, where she was probably mistreated and all. And then she ran away and got lost during winter (If they don't come up with something even more horrifying)
Would they cry over how easily excited Akari gets for battles or trains or "Mama Chandelure", in contrast to how horrible they think her human life must have been?
GOD those two think about all the possible circumstances that would lead to a child freezing to death and EVERY SINGLE OPTION scares the everlasting SHIT out of them. Honestly, Orphanage of Fear is just the best case scenario. For all they know, Akari was kidnapped, tortured, or a victim of a sick murder. They don't know. They don't want to ask her for details but it's genuinely killing them inside that they have no idea what happened to her.
The running away in winter idea is probably what they would stick with because it's vastly better than her being MURDERED. Like, yes it's fucking awful but the child killer nightmares are too much okay. They can't handle it. She's such a bright and cheery kid who loves trains and battles and showmanship. The idea that a person out there would willingly snuff out that light, and get away with it, makes them physically sick.
They're happy to be giving her a life she deserves now, at least. She's still like... a ghost, now. There's no denying that. It's not ideal, especially with her being an extinct Pokémon— Ingo's still batting away nosy historians and conservationists, those little shits clearly don't understand that she's both a Pokémon AND a human child who JUST DIED for fuck's sake, but. But they still have Akari around to hold and love. And they're happy to be able to know her and care for her.
