THE WORLD MIGHT WELCOME A FULLY SOLAR-POWERED CAR BY 2019
The concept of solar powered car is a far-sighted idea thought of as an almost impossible to attain by many kind of idea. But the idea generators of Lightyear One, first fully solar-powered car to be released by the year 2019, gained huge popularity and an award for their worthy design.
The first fully solar-powered car of the world, Lightyear One, has just won itself a Climatic Change Innovator Award. This car, which was put forth by a Dutch startup Lightyear, claims to charge itself and is supposed to drive for months without charging bearing a 400-800 km range. But is the concept even feasible? Is the concept here to bring about a revolution? This is the reality for which we have to wait and see!
For several years, the concept of solar powered cars was considered to be the future of the automobile industry after the technological revolution brought about by electric cars. There are, however, many who argue that this concept is not here to last and is merely impossible to attain.
Lightyear One announced that their first car will be released by the year 2019. As of yet, the concept of a fully solar powered car wasn’t deemed to be realistic and Solar Assisted Electric Vehicles (SAVS) were considered to be the best alternate for solar cars. However, with the release of this new fully solar-powered vehicle, we are looking to potentially the biggest revolution in the auto industry if things go as planned. The Dutch company promises to be coming up with a car that is not only solar-powered but also copes up with other technology shortcomings found in cars these days such as low performance, etc.
The team of 5 young entrepreneurs had been working day and night for several years and came up with a prototype that could be taken as a precursor of what to expect by 2019. However, since the project is in the very early stages, it is impossible to gauge the effectiveness of the project and to determine the capability of the new concept to bridge the gap between SAVS and fully powered solar vehicles.
Nonetheless, the world is showing signs of feasibility with the introduction of the Byron Bay Railroad Company, considered to be the first solar-powered train. This shows that although the vehicle might have a limited scope, solar-powered vehicles can become the revolutionizing realm for the auto industry.

BLACK CARS ON THE GO!
Black has always been the color of choice for plenty of people because of the luxurious and classy feeling it provides. As a recent study suggested, black colored cars have overtaken white colored cars as the most preferred choice of color in cars. The main reason is that drivers are very busy in their schedule to wash their cars and white color makes the dirt more prominent. As industry experts apprehend that people’s lives are busier than ever now and it gets very tricky to keep up with the cleaning. Whereas black is a dark color, shows less dirt and can go about without cleaning for a longer time.
As many as half a million customers opted for black vehicles in 2017 alone placing white color in the third spot after spending a whopping 4 years as number 1. As per the DVLA statistics, monochrome colors have always been the talk of the town and comparatively, are cheaper as well. They have occupied the top most spot for 18 years and approximately 60% of the vehicles in 2017 were either black, white or grey.
Of the primary colors, blue is the only one securing the spot in top five colors. Red stands at the sixth spot. Green, which was the most preferred car color around 1996 has not been securing any spot in the top five since 15 years. It secured top 7th position in 2017. Golden was the color with the most progressive growth and popularity but it remains a secluded choice comprising of only 0.2% of the entire market.
Plainer colors, more specifically monochrome colors, are said to possess a high resale value because these colors are preferred by the buyer. They are easier to repaint and easier to resell. However, several new colors are coming in and people are trying out of the box colors more than ever before.

WIRELESS CHARGING- THE NEXT BIG THING
Everything in the world is becoming digital. Did you think of driving a car in which you could literally talk to the OS? You would just say ‘I am cold’ and the ac would go down? No, right?
But the world is moving quite rapidly in the race towards advancement. Not long time back, the concept of an electric car was put forth and the idea seemed rather impossible to the people. Everybody thought of it as a concept which will not grasp the market and soon fade away. But today, as can be seen, electric cars are everywhere. Every big automaker is coming up with newer versions of electric cars. Companies are spending numerous bucks in R&D to come up with concept after studying the consumer insight thoroughly.
A newer revolution that is likely to take the market by storm is wireless charging in cars. Probably the biggest con of buying an electric car is the shortage of charging spots other than the high price. All the large automakers such as Volvo, BMW, Audi, and Ford are all set to come up with their latest versions of electric cars supporting wireless charging and will be available in between $2500 to $4,000. This kit can be fitted in the already existing models as well. The question remains, is this kit worth the price?
This kit will allow the drivers to top up using a smart device while the car is parked for running a quick errand or overnight. The technology could prove to be a major milestone in driverless EVs where the app can be used to top up.
This technology will bring itself a bunch of positive repercussions. But, when the technology becomes available in the market the real-life experience and the viability will then become apparent.

AUTO INDUSTRY TRENDS FOR 2018
The auto industry has undergone huge transitions for the past decade. From manual gear transmission to auto, from the internal combustion engine to electric vehicles, the automobile industry is a very flourishing and progressive industry. 2018 will be no exception and is likely to witness several such trends which will transform the auto game. A greater number of vehicles are moving towards electric versions, there might be an even larger revolution underway not in the sense of what a consumer buy but how he/she buys it.
Very recently, Toyota announced their strategy of coming up with fuel-efficient versions of cars and that they will focus on manufacturing hybrid and plug-in hybrid models more frequently. They also claimed to be manufacturing all-electric vehicles as well which they, lately, claimed to be non-feasible for the short and medium term.
This decision is a precursor of the importance electric vehicles have gained in this short span of time. Almost every automaker is picking the idea and focusing their energy and efforts on transforming their newer versions to becoming electrified. 2018 is likely to be seen as the year when electric vehicles become the go-to option for the majority of buyers. Government intervention will also reinforce this decision because many governments are banning internal combustion engines from 2018 urging automakers to start manufacturing only electric vehicles and help the green concept gain ground.
But as the electric vehicles have become the star technology everybody is talking about and every automaker is adopting, there is an equally large revolution in the way regarding to how we will pay for the vehicles. Leasing is, to date, the easiest and widely used method of payment of cars but this is likely to be changed in 2018.
Car giant Tesla is already selling directly to the public and recently Ford, also announced that they are planning to incorporate the concept of car vending machine by liaising with their partner company in China. However, what Volvo is planning to do is sure to bring about a transition in the auto industry. They will be offering their Polestar1 model on a subscription-basis only. The customer will order online and monthly subscription will cover everything apart from fuel and insurance. By the end of the subscription tenure, the user will return back the car and get it exchanged with a newer model.
These trends are about to bring huge transitions in the auto-industry. Not only the automakers will facilitate with these changing trends with the extra profit they make, the users will also benefit as the prices might go down because of mass production.

Benefits of Buying a Hybrid Car
Hybrid cars are getting very popular amongst the buyers these days as they are fuel-efficient and most importantly environmental friendly cars. Hybrid cars are those cars, which uses two or more distinct power sources to move the car. It uses a mix of energy sources, typically electric motors with traditional internal combustion engines. The term hybrid vehicle mainly refers to a Hybrid electric vehicle. Some of the best Hybrid models include vehicles such as the AHS2 (Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Yukon, Chevrolet Silverado, Cadillac Escalade, and the Saturn Vue), Toyota Prius, Honda Insight, Ford Escape Hybrid, Toyota Highlander Hybrid, Toyota Camry Hybrid, Honda Civic Hybrid and others. A petroleum-electric hybrid most commonly uses internal combustion engines (generally gasoline or Diesel engines, powered by a variety of fuels) and electric batteries to power electric motors. There are many types of petroleum-electric hybrid drive trains, from Full hybrid to Mild hybrid, which offer varying benefits and drawbacks.
Why Hybrid cars so popular these days?
Hybrid cars are famous because of the technology, which is giving the extra power to the buyers, in terms of fuel efficiency, mileage, environment-friendly, etc. In the next few years, almost every automobile manufacturer will be producing at least one hybrid car to compete in the automobile market. It is considered to be the future of the automobile industry. Below are some of the basic advantages of buying Hybrid cars, compared with other conventional cars:
1)      A hybrid car gives an extra mileage between 20-30 miles per gallon.
2)      In many cases, hybrid cars offer more performance than the gasoline engine offered in the same car.
3)      Hybrid cars demand less oil changes. In conventional cars oil change was required after every 3,000 miles which in case of hybrid cars are after every 5,000-6,000 miles.
4)      Hybrid cars help in reducing the dependency on fossil fuels which directly affects fuel prices.
5)      A hybrid car uses less gasoline, so it generates less pollution because most hybrid cars are running with two different types of energy to power the car, gasoline and electricity.
6)      Hybrid car does not rely on gasoline engine because it uses the alternative power sources like electric motor and batteries of the car. It automatically turns off the gasoline engine during the time of using these alternative sources of power.
7)      There are purchase incentives for Hybrid vehicle owners (varies by state).
8)      Still after all these charges, hybrid cars can easily be repaired by all the automotive shops for their regular maintenance.
9)      With the rapid developments in the technology of hybrid cars, the future of this technology looks brighter.
10)   Batteries of hybrid cars need not to be charged through external source because of the Regenerative Braking technology.
11)   Special warranties are also provided with the battery pack.

What Does It Mean When a Used Car Has a “Clean Title”?
Whenever you decide on buying a used car, it will come with a history. It must have been driven a certain number of miles and undergone a number of maintenance services and repairs. Some vehicles have been exhausted and exposed to unusual conditions that may have led to damage. Some vehicles that individuals sell also have a lien against them because the current owner borrowed money to pay for them and the total amount of the loan has not been repaid.
Hence, a clean title means that there are no liens against the vehicle, but it also means more than that.
What does the ‘Salvage Title’ mean?
When a vehicle has met an accident and the car is damaged, the insurance company evaluates the cost of damage and repairing and compares it with the value of the vehicle. When the damage to the vehicle costs more to repair than its value, or more than an agreed percentage of the value, it is considered a total loss or the vehicle has been ‘totaled’. The insurance company will only pay up to the value of the vehicle, not the amount that it would take to be repaired. Once the car owner has received payment, the vehicle becomes the property of the insurance company.
These salvage vehicles are sold to various car auctions, salvage yards, and rebuilders, depending on the value and type of the car. These vehicles are then sold at auction or salvaged for parts. The prices are low because the vehicles have a lesser value than a vehicle with a ‘clean title’ and because the insurance company hasn’t put any money directly into the vehicle.
When a car is termed as a total loss, the insurance company usually contacts the DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) and makes a report on the vehicle. However, the process can vary from state to state, but it generally leads to the car being given a ‘salvage tile’. In addition to having no liens, a vehicle with a clean title also has no salvage title.
Salvage Title Vs Unrepairable car
Majority of the people believe that a car which is totaled has been damaged beyond repair. But in reality, the salvage title is based on the cost of repairs in comparison to the vehicle’s value. However, some cars are damaged to the point that they are unrepairable, and those can only legally be sold in parts or as scrap.
Purchasing salvage titled vehicles are a good option for some people but not for everyone. These cars are sold at a much lower price than cars with a clean title. If the car buyer of a salvage titled car has access to cheap repairs or have the proficiency of doing the repairs themselves, they may be able to restore the vehicle to drivable condition. Once the vehicle is repaired, they may apply for a new ‘rebuilt’ title, but they can never have a clean title for the vehicle.
Advantages of Buying a Vehicle with a Clean Title
One important factor when considering buying a salvage title car is insurance. In almost all cases, the buyer must be aware and accept the fact that if their vehicle is damaged, they will not recover their investment.
The same is not true for a vehicle purchased with a clean title. The car buyer will have the option to get a collision and comprehensive insurance coverage for any vehicle with a clean title. Hence, buyers should understand that their insurance coverage is based on the actual value of their car and its classification. Even if you get a good condition vehicle and have to pay comparatively less for the car, you will have to pay insurance premiums based on the full value.
Saving Money on Clean Title Vehicles
Car buyers who wish to purchase vehicles with a clean title rather than dealing with the troubles of insurance, can still get cheaper prices than they would find at the dealer. Purchasing a car from a car auction which is open to the public gives you an opportunity to purchase used vehicle at lower prices. The problem is that it is easy for majority of the car buyers to get confused with such a large selection of cars about which car is the best for their needs and their budget.
Another common method is to go through an auto broker. An auto broker helps retail customers find cars from other dealerships. The broker act as an agent for the retail customer for the purpose of finding, negotiating and purchasing for a fee or commission. A broker also has the expertise to find a vehicle that matches with the buyer’s needs and get them a deal that will fit into their budget.
Therefore, when you intend to buy a used car, it is advised that you look at the title and make sure you get what you were being promised. If you purchase a vehicle with a clean title, you don’t have to worry about surprises occurring down the road. Certainly, if you purchase a salvage title, you also want to make sure it is not unrepairable.
The above mentioned titles and vehicles have their own distinct place in the market for the right buyer. In order to ensure that these matches are made appropriately, the buyer should see the title or put the purchase into the hands of a broker if they are unsure of how to get the type of vehicle they want at the price they want to pay.

How to find the perfect used car online
Majority of the people are reluctant to buy used vehicles online due to a high number of online scams and frauds. The truth is, that the market place is filled with thousands of honest car exporters with good quality used cars at extremely reasonable prices. Japan is a hub for used cars and millions of people buy their used cars from verified dealers or through top auction houses in Japan. The used car industry is booming for the past couple of years as the prices for new car models are exorbitant and not everyone can afford a brand new car. When you are shopping online, you have access to more deals, research and models than you could ever hope to find by hunting down cars physically. You need to be very careful about choosing a car dealer as many of the companies show a lot of stock on their website but do not have it on their yard.
Let’s look at a few tips and tricks to ensure that you end up finding the perfect car for yourself online:
·         Decide the type of vehicle you want:
Create a list of your routine driving needs and select the vehicle that best matches those needs. This will help you avoid buying on impulse or emotion.
 ·         Define your budget:
Estimate the maximum purchase price that you can afford and look only at listings that meet your budget.
 ·         List the features you need:
The cost of the car varies based on the trim levels you choose. Also optional features will increase the overall price and make your car more expensive. For example, if you don’t need a navigation system, then why pay for it?
 ·         Factor in additional costs. Apart from the car's selling price, you should also budget for taxes and other fees that often add up to about 10 percent to your total car price. Once the total cost of the car is determined, look at your financing options to obtain the best price.
 ·         Compare prices:
In order to get the best price, it is advised that you compare 4 to 5 car dealers before purchasing a used car. You should also consult online pricing guides to determine the actual value of any car that interests you.
·         Order a vehicle history report
It is recommended that before selecting any used car online, you must ask for vehicle history report to determine whether the car has been in any major accidents. The report will also tell you how many times the car has been sold.
 ·         Choose a search criteria
Most listing sites allow you to narrow your search according to criteria that you select. Take full advantage of any search tools available to you. They make searching easier and more productive.
 ·         Stay informed about scams
Many use car websites also provide latest information about common online scams. Apparently, you want to deal with legitimate sellers only.
 ·         Read car reviews:
There are numerous online reviews and ratings of every make and model you can think of. You will find plenty of valuable critiques written by both automotive experts and actual owners.

4 Things to Consider before Buying a Used Truck
Are you looking for a used truck? The market is full of all kinds of used trucks out there, from rundown trucks suitable to haul trash to feature-rich trucks comfortable enough to use as daily drivers. Trucks are built in a way that they are tough and reliable, so a lot of buyers opt for buying a used one rather than a new truck. It is advisable to buy a used truck as the working capabilities of trucks do not decline with its age, and the buyer also avoids the steep depreciation of the first few years. That being said, you should ask the current owner as many questions about the trucks performance and check if all its systems are working properly, but there are a few things that buyers often neglect. Here are the top four things you should investigate before making the deal:
1)      City or highway miles
The problem here is certainly not the number of miles on the truck, but where they were accumulated. Highway driving is easier on a truck as compared to driving in stop-and-go traffic. So generally just ask the truck owner where the truck has spent most of its running life. It is better to have more highway miles rather than the city miles. But if you opt to buy from a dealer, you might not have access to this information, but it’s easy to judge that a newer truck which is high in miles and a decent body was driven primarily on the highway.
2)      Heavy duty
Has the truck had a rough life? Towing, hauling, and off-roading effects negatively on the truck's longevity. Obviously, you would want a truck that’s been used as smoothly as possible. Inspect the load floor and paint around the bed for scratches and other signs of heavy use.
3)      Vehicle history
There are several online websites that can help you provide a detailed report of the vehicle history that would include any issues that can impair the truck’s value or operability. Trucks with clean records have an excellent chance of remaining on the road in the long run. A vehicle history report will help you know about any major accidents. Water and frame damage, title issues, odometer issues and a lot more.
4)      Your requirements
Evaluate your needs and think about how you're going to use the truck and decide whether it's actually a good fit for your needs. For instance, if you are going to use it for your personal commute, a big v8 or diesel engine is perhaps a waste of money. Instead, they are useful if you plan on hauling heavy loads or towing a trailer. Four-wheel drive will pull you through mud and snow, but how often will you really use it? Therefore, whenever you intend to buy a used truck, make sure it’s right for the task.

Chronicles of Car Auction Benefits
Auto auctions are a great way to find a good deal on a car. Auction House Japan has auction vehicles that come from a variety of models and categories. There was once a time when bidders needed to be in attendance to bid on a vehicle, thanks to internet, bidding can now be done online as well as onsite. Online bids can be made before the auction with Pre-auction bidding or during the auction with special software that allows for live streaming and bidding. However, it is with onsite bidding that a buyer can hope to get the best deal. Seeing is believing is an old adage, but is important to follow in buying a car.
Attending a Live Auction
This is the standard procedure of bidding. To attend a live auction, you need to show up at the auction site in-person and bid on your vehicle when it comes up for auction. It can be difficult to attend a live auction at a specific time of the auction if it clashes with other personal or professional responsibilities.  Auctions can also be a time-consuming process, but coming in person has distinct advantages as well.
First, you can see the vehicle in person.
While auctioneers try their best to give an accurate representation in photos, sometimes due to lighting or other restrictions, a vehicle looks different in person than it does from a picture. The best way to make sure a vehicle matches what you’re looking for is to come and see it for yourself. This way, there are no surprises and you know exactly how it looks when it’s time to bid on it.
Second, you have the opportunity to inspect vehicles as part of many auctions.
Often, there is a time set aside before an auction to look at a car you want to bid on and make sure it works properly. Vehicles are generally divided into categories that show if and how they run and/or drive. Generally, there will be a section of vehicles that don’t run, another section for those that run but with problems, and a section for cars that run and drive. It’s important to bid on the type of car you’re familiar with and can deal with.
Third, many auctions allow you to start up the car yourself.
Being on-site means that you have the opportunity to get a feel for how the vehicle runs. Maybe a car runs better than you thought and you decide to try bidding on it, or perhaps you’re a little worried by an unusual noise and decide to pass. Being at the auction in-person is the best way to accurately judge the condition of a vehicle.
Use caution when attending live auctions.
However, besides the time-constraints, there is another disadvantage to attending an auction in person. Many of the people bidding on-site are experienced buyers familiar with the process. If you haven’t been to an auction before, being in the crowd can be intimidating. And if you’re unfamiliar with the environment, you may even bid accidentally.
