(23) And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], "uff," and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word. 

(24) And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy and say, "My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small."

عن عائشة أم المؤمنين رضي الله عنها، عن الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: “الماهرُ بالقرآن مع السفرةِ الكرامِ البرَرَةِ . والذي يقرأ القرآنَ ويتَتَعْتَعُ فيه ، وهو عليه شاقٌّ ، له أجرانِ . وفي روايةٍ : والذي يقرأُ وهو يشتدُّ عليه له أجرانِ” صحيح مسلم

A'isha reported Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) (as saying): “One who is proficient in the Qur'an is associated with the noble, upright, recording angels; and he who falters in it, and finds it difficult for him, will have a double reward.” Sahih Muslim 798 a In-book reference : Book 6, Hadith 290 USC-MSA web (English) reference : Book 4, Hadith 1745

عن أبي هريرة، عن الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: “قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ كُلُّ عَمَلِ ابْنِ آدَمَ لَهُ إِلاَّ الصِّيَامَ هُوَ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ لَخِلْفَةُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ ‏”‏ ‏.‏ صحيح مسلم

Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:

“Allah, the Majestic and the Exalted, said: Every act of the son of Adam is for him except fasting. It is done for My sake, and I will give a reward for it. By Allah in Whose Hand is the life of Muhammad, the breath of the observer of fast is sweeter to Allah than the fragrance of musk”.
